===Akuma Umare POV===
It was like any other day, boring. Another lifeless and monotonous day, in what seemed an eternity for me, Akuma Umare, student of class 2 C. The summer sun was beating down on us, even through the windows. The windows were left open, perhaps in hopes of a cool breeze in. But all that came was warm summer air. The teacher was droning on about human cells and their function. As if anyone cares, I thought to myself, this won't help most of us in real life.
I wished I could go home to read Light novels and manga and to play online games. I had heard some students talking about a new game that came out a few weeks ago. Maybe I could go read one of my light novels. I always envied the characters in the Novels and Manga that I read, and wished I could be summoned or transported to another world. Heck, I would even accept death if it meant that I would be reincarnated as the hero, in another world with magic and swords. I had always been fascinated by the prospect of being in a different world than my own, not at the cost of my own freedom though.
I, born in a middle class family alongside two elder sisters, was treated differently because of one thing and one thing only; my hair. I had normal black hair, like any other person living in Japan, but he also had red streaks entwined in them.
I remember an incident that took place on my first day of middle school. I was pointed out by the teacher because she mistook my natural streaks for hair dye. It took a while to clear it up, by finally calling my parents to check its authenticity. After that, some students started treating me differently and it escalated into a big issue. And ever since that day I could never trust people. It ended with me being the loner that I am today. There were those who had approached me, but I knew it was out of pity and wasn't genuine.

The bell rang.
'Finally, I can go home now.'
The clamour of students talking to their friends and heading their respective clubs was deafening. I didn't have any club activities. I was never one for clubs and social interaction anyway. So, I could go home as soon as school ended. Unfortunately, I lived quite a ways away from school so I had to use a bus to go to school and back.
Somehow, I don't know why but, I felt like this boring life of repetition was going to end soon. My life here was not good, but it wasn't bad either. I was sort of the "hated child" if you could call me that. But I was provided the minimum resources required for living. But I couldn't leave the house much outside of work and getting food and the like.
Recently though, I had strange dreams. In those dreams I saw a boy, around 16 years of age with jet black hair and a purple streak, not unlike my red streaks, talking to a 18 year old boy with greyish white hair that turned purple somewhere. They looked directly at me and said something that I couldn't figure out, but I knew. I knew that these two boys were dangerous. I, myself don't know how I know of their danger, but I know that I know. I can't explain it, okay?

I boarded the bus and got on my phone, waiting to get home.
"Huh, it's oddly empty today." I murmured, as I looked around me. There were only 7 students, including me. This wasn't odd on its own, but the fact that there weren't many adults just seemed… ominous.
The bus driver called out to me and said something similar to the boys in my dreams. That's odd.
I felt it then. Fear. I hadn't felt this emotion in quite a while. But, my mind and instinct were telling me different things. My mind was telling me to run, to escape the bus. But my instinct...
I looked around. Everything was perfectly fine. Almost too fine. There was no traffic on the road, no pedestrians walking and not even a dog in sight. I was going to stay there.
As I thought that, the driver smiled as if to acknowledge my determination.
Then I saw it. An oil tanker lost control and I felt a pain unlike any I've experienced. There was a loud, earsplitting screech. All my bones shattered in a split second and I felt my body burn to a crisp. A perfect way to erase all chances of survival. It's all over instantly. My life, the bus and everyone involved. Gone.

===Natsuko Kaminari POV===
It was another normal school day. I liked school for a reason different than most. This is because I, Natsuko Kaminari, was not only a student of class 2 C, but also the heir to the "Cosmic Electronics" Company, the richest electronics company in Japan. In the commercial world, it was very difficult, if not impossible to find real friends who helped you out in times of need. School was different. It was very easy to make real friends here, not the ones that would lie to your face without any conscience. I was somewhat of a loner at school. I was famous, but this fame was very redundant at school. I couldn't make any friends for the first couple years of school.
But now, it was different because I had friends. Lots of them. And this time they were real, good friends that I could rely on. They didn't like me because of my fame or my family name. They like me for myself. Had Hirai Yoshihiro, my best friend, never attempted to make friends with me, I would've been a loner all my life. but he did, and that led me to discover the joy of having friends that I could believe in.
The bell rang.
I gathered my textbooks and notes and headed to the door. I wasn't in any clubs despite the appeals of my peers. As the heir of an important company my life was full of classes and I didn't want a repeat of that at school. My father had insisted that I come back in a limousine or at minimum a well-guarded vehicle, but I flatly refused. I hadn't wanted to stand out, so I had opted for the bus.
But that was all to change that very day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got on the bus. My first thought was, 'Wow, it's almost empty today.' There were usually around twenty students in the bus, and that was excluding the adults. there weren't a lot of people coming from work this time of the day so it was mostly the ones that were going somewhere. But today there were only around eight people in the entire bus. And, except the driver, there were only seven students.
There was one first year and two third years who I didn't recognize.There were three second years, who I recognized.
There was Ryuzaki Azumi, a scary looking girl with a harsh look in her eyes. Many girls were afraid of her at school, but as far as I knew she was a kindhearted girl. I say that because once I saw her helping a young girl who seemed to be lost.
Then there was Yamasaki Mitsu, a shy girl who was good at studies and was in the music club and also on the track team.
And finally, Akuma Umare. He was a weird case. He never talked to anybody and went straight home. Not that I'm one to talk anyway. There were odd rumours going around about him and most people just ignored him most of the time. I had boarded right after him, and it seemed like the driver had said something to him. He seemed to turn pale. He looked around as if he was searching for something. Then his eyes widened and, seemingly out of nowhere, an oil tanker came towards us. I felt agony like never before. Then it was gone, just like that. And my consciousness faded.
