Gerald sat across Theodora in the boat as the man who was paid by Gerald, controlled the small boat. Even though Theodora lived on an island, this was her only second time travelling by boat.
This ocean in which their boat was floating was only seen from afar by her. She never got a chance to touch its salty water, feel that humid air against her skin and relax in that natural tranquillity.
She was staring at the small waves that made their boat dance on its surface. She couldn't resist herself anymore and leaned to touch that water. It felt a little warm against her skin, yet the feeling was unworldly for her.
She giggled and filled some more water in her palms before throwing it again into the sea. Gerald watched her playing and giggling like a little girl. Her smile was so innocent and full of awe that it managed to evaporate some of his anger.
