Theodora tried to catch Zerith's gaze, but the man kept it glued to the plate of food in front of him. His ears were focused on what Lord Ralph was saying. He nodded his head every now and then in acknowledgement though he could feel the glare from Theodora.
Pursing her lips in irritation, she kicked him under the table, yet the man remained unbothered.
Theodora was getting annoyed with him. She turned her head to look up at Bertha, who stood beside her. Theodora signalled her with her eyes, and the maid got the secret command.
She walked to stand beside Zerith, and the man tensed, knowing well about her intention.
"Let me pour some wine for you," Bertha said in a low voice but loud enough for everyone at the table to hear.
"Erm... no. I don't-"
"What happened Zerith? You look disturbed tonight." Zerith was stopped by Lady Cordelia's curious question.
"Erm... no there is nothing like that Lady Cordelia." He forced a smile.
