Two days after Gerald returned home, he went to Zerith's house. Theodora had promised to come and meet him there. He wished Bertha would come with her too.
He was excited to finally meet Bertha after more than a month. He had so much to talk to her about their future. He didn't know how close Zerith had gotten with her. He hoped zerith wouldn't have tried any of his tricks to impress Bertha.
But he trusted her completely. He knew that no matter what Zerith tried, he could never win Bertha's heart because it belonged to only him!
Gerald was waiting in excitement, and when he saw Theodora's carriage coming from a distance, he was already on his feet.
He waited till the carriage came to stop in front of the house. He rushed to open the door and helped Theodora to get down the carriage. He looked inside with a thudding heart for Bertha, but all he got was sheer disappointment.
