Bertha sat quietly yet confused on a couch in Theodora's bedroom while watching Theodora pacing around in worry. She sensed that something was definitely wrong with her, but she couldn't guess what it could be.
After Ten minutes of watching her moving back and forth like a pendulum, Bertha finally asked, "My Lady, please tell me what happened. How can I know if you don't say anything?"
Theodora paused, groaning in exasperation. "I don't know how to tell you this, Bertha." She rubbed her forehead.
She looked quite stressed, and that concerned Bertha.
Bertha stood and walked to Theodora. Taking her hands in hers, she smiled assuringly.
"You know you can share anything with me. If you have dragged me here then you will tell me what it is."
Theodora looked into Bertha's eyes for a moment before her eyes welled up with tears. Bertha's smile faltered.
"Bertha, you... you will not leave me alone, would you?"
