Gerald found a small cave nearby, covered by a line of trees and other forest greens. It was the perfect place for them to stay at the night. He took Theodora inside but by the time they found the shelter, they were sodden with the rain from head to toe.
Nailbiting chilliness made their teeth stutter. Their hands were numb from the cold.
At least Gerald was now clean, and the saliva of the Sun dragon had washed away with the dripping rivulets of rain from his body.
"Damn it!" He cursed, shaking his hands forcefully before clenching and unclenching his fingers to get rid of the numbness.
Theodora had her hands wrapped around her waist as she swung back and forth, trying to focus on something... anything that would distract her mind from the coldness.
