Entering the old building, Gerald saw a short woman busy cleaning the front desk while the old man, her husband was speaking to someone.
He was the first one to catch a couple walking their way.
"Good evening, young man! How may I help you?" He asked cheerfully.
Gerald remembered the last time he spoke to him months or maybe years ago.
"Good evening, sire! I want a room for the night's stay for two persons. We will leave the room at ten in the morning."
The man's gaze passed past him to linger on Theodora, who stood at a hand's distance from Gerald. She was busy looking around the place with the corners of her lips pulled down in distaste.
"May I know what relationship you two share? Don't mind me asking that but we have families as guest and I do not want any inappropriate activity to happen in my property." He made it clear.
Gerald already had a lie ready in his mind.
