Gerald couldn't believe his eyes as he gawked back at Theodora. Her face was straight, without any hint of emotions. But her eyes were piercing arrows that threatened him, warned him.
'Okay, Gerald. You don't need to panic. You have handled her the last time and you can do that again.', he told himself before he wore a nonchalant expression.
Slipping his hands in his pant pockets, something he usually did when he was nervous or was trying to hide his emotions, he walked to stand at a hand's distance from her.
"Theodora? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at Mr Collins' garden?"
"I was bored and thought of spending a day with you. But seems like you had another plans."
Yet again he couldn't make out anything from her words.
"Why didn't you tell me that before?"
"Then I wouldn't have been standing here waiting to be fed by another of your lie."
"Theodora!"
