Chapter 19 - Hiashi choices his son on law.

3rd POV – Hyuuga Hiashi

Akashi Ryu, a young nobleman from the land of fire that Hiashi wanted more than anything to add to his family. He had investigated him extensively and had decided that the boy was the most suitable son-in-law for the Hyuuga clan and to strengthen his future clan members... There was very little information about doujutsu clans and this misinformation was just what such clans needed. The less is known about bloodline abilities, the better, since it's no wonder that deception is said to be a ninja's greatest weapon. It was because without this disappointment, most ninjas die.

One of the secrets of the doujutsu clan was the need for offspring planning. A child with mixed lineages had many growth possibilities compared to others. An unspoken or admitted example of this would be Hyuuga Neji, whose deceased mother was from the famous Uzumaki clan (at the mens part of Uzumaki) and her talent surpassed any of the clan, even the main clan members.

It was discovered by doujutsu clans such as the Hyuuga, Uchiha and Chinoike that mixing doujutsu bloodlines with strong physical bloodlines would result in more powerful and well-developed members. It was more than clear the fact that clan members with special eyes were associated with the Yin chakra, so all those with eye art talent would have an imbalance between the chakras causing various problems. There were also problems for clans with a lot of Yang affinity. An example would be the Akimichi clan, which was admittedly a clan that artificially altered its body structure in order to cast its clan jutsus.

Now, why did Hiashi want to be associated with the boy born civilian? This can be explained by the eyes. What everyone knows about Byakugan was only a small part of its users' abilities. The white eye supposedly allowed members of the Hyuuga clan to see the chakra channels, tenketsu, coils and the like. They could also see through walls and clothing (this was a never-before-revealed secret), as well as being able to measure chakra.

This particular ability allowed the members of the Hyuuga clan to understand and discover who their opponent was or who should never be considered an opponent. It was a nerfed version of the "Observation" skill from the novel "Gamer" and that was the main reason he wanted to arrest the boy.

Akashi Rui had the most powerful and beautiful chakra he had ever seen and that even before awakening such chakra. His energy was clean and pure, almost fluorescent, it gave off a clear oppressive feeling, but it still felt soft and welcoming. Hiashi was not mistaken. The boy was a child with the power to surpass all current ninjas in the Village and possibly even surpass the ninjas of all villages.

Hiashi wasn't able to measure the little boy's yin affinity, but his body and his yang energy was so potent it almost glowed under scrutiny from his white eyes. That said, he knew that his grandchildren, should one of his daughters get hold of him, would be more than powerful in the future.

This wasn't something only he noticed either. Many clans had similar thoughts, if the looks that the Yamanaka patriarch, Inoichi, gave the boy every time he appeared in the company of his daughter, Ino. Even some civilians wanted to entangle the boy in marriage with their daughters, but their motivations were more focused on greed for money than on craving for stronger clansmen.

In the encounters he had with the boy, the feeling of awe that tried to well up in his chest was suffocating. He wanted to fall down and worship the child as an incarnate deity.

It helped that the boy was nice to him and helped his daughter to train seriously.

~FLASHBACK~

His daughter was crying again in the woods near training camp 22 and he was watching it all with obvious displeasure. Hinata didn't understand his concerns about her and didn't seem to want to understand. Since she was nearly kidnapped by kumo ninjas, Hiashi had become more and more demanding with the need for strength and the little girl was still the same weak, cowardly prank he abhorred.

Didn't she understand what happened to weak kunoichi?

Did she think she could avoid being a ninja? Was that it? Does she wish to be from the side clan? If she wished it wouldn't be a humiliation in a way? He would let his daughter, no, his daughters, to be marked and enslaved? He wasn't naive enough to ignore that his clan practice was just to protect his doujutsu. This was pure and straightforward slavery and he would not allow his daughter to become a slave.

As he was about to descend from the tree he was hiding in, a childlike figure seemed to have sprung up from nowhere near his daughter.

"Why are you crying, Hyuuga-San?" The little black-haired boy asked with obvious curiosity. "You are lost? Want help getting home? You are from a clan, aren't you? Shouldn't there be a ninja protecting you? FurthermoreYou are from the main branch of the clan, aren't you? It's better to go home as there may be spies from other villages nearby who want to kidnap you...

Hiashi was a little speechless. The boy started talking and talking with less and less time between words. He kept rambling on about a lot of things followed and, without Hinata noticing, she had already stopped crying and looked in his direction with a bit of annoyance.

"Ten days of surviving in the wild, can you believe it? He even had the nerve to say I was not so bad at the trial. What kind of monster throws a cute kid like me into an evil judgment like this? Wasn't I your cute otouto? He kept calling me that and all of a sudden I had to train not to waste my potential. Hell, who cared about potential? But anyway...

Hinata looked almost horrified by the amount of words said by the boy. At that point, all she could do to distract herself was try to understand what that little boy wanted from her. Looking at him, at his delicate but manly face. Deep blue eyes with slightly vertical pupils. The straight hair cut at the height of the ears...

She turned completely red when she realized she was talking to a cute boy.

"So I spent hours trying to get out of the forest of death while screaming for Mikami-nii, but he never came, the bastard. You know ninja training is very difficult... I prefer a thousand times to rest all day reading and doing other lazy things. It's not like I'm poor and need money from ninja missions after all. Did you know that ninja missions are quite cheap? When I saw how much a ninja earns on a B-rank mission, for example, I was horrified. I mean, missions at this level should be very dangerous as there is a chance that ninjas from other villages are involved... there is a chance of real death in that, but the price of a B rank mission is not worth it. I won't even talk about the fact that this money is shared with your team members, if you have them... oh, other than the village takes a fee for itself from the start so we wouldn't even have the full value of the quest for us . I don't need this trifle, you know. I'm very rich actually and..."

"So why do you train?" Hinata finally interrupted the young brunette's debilitating monologue. "You complained so much about your training, but if I were to be honest, you are a civilian and you can choose not to be a ninja, right? You are not from a ninja clan..."

"Ah…well, I want to be strong, you know? Being rich makes me an easy target for bad people who want my money and everything... So staying strong will guarantee me the ability to fight those people. In fact, does it look like you?"

"With me?" the girl asked in confusion. "How can you look like me?"

"Yes of course. You have cute eyes that have really good abilities and bad people will want to take them away from you... some people will even arrange for you to have dozens of kids with the same eyes so you can gouge out your kids' eyes... .or train them to obey them... either way, if you're not strong you'll end up getting hurt or worse, hurting the people you care about." The boy explained patiently and Hinata almost exploded at being called cute… "Imagine what would happen in a battle with you, being weak, in the middle. The people who are fighting on your side will have to divide their attention between protecting you and fighting the enemy. They can die just because you can't defend yourself. It is not bad?"

That made the Hyuuga girl fall silent. She wasn't an idiot. She knew her uncle had died because of her, as her cousin had almost rubbed it in her house shortly after the funeral. She also knew that the funeral was just a ritual as there was no body to bury anyway, but here she was, crying and complaining about life when her cousin lost his own father...

Now that she thinks about it, her father started training her seriously after her uncle's death. Was this related? Was it possible that he wanted to strengthen her so she could fight back without putting others in danger? Was that it?

Thinking about that...

~FLASHBACK END~

That's how Hiashi had an older daughter resolute and determined to improve herself so as not to be a burden to those close to her and all thanks to the boy. It was several visits to his family and their daughter that made it possible for Hiashi to scan the brat's potential and decide he was capable enough. It helped that her daughter was already half in love with the boy.

The only problem would be the child's lust that while she didn't have enough hormones to go around attacking unsuspecting women, it was still obvious from the way she talked about her goal that he would be a Casanova when he grew up.

Phrases such as: "I will be a future king of the harem, so it is common for me to check out my possible women"; "Oh, look at thosebreasts... if only your face were a little less unpleasant..."; "This is Sakura's mother? She's so beautiful and young, but her breasts are like her daughter's, straight and flat..."

Hiashi didn't know what to do to correct such a posture and didn't even know if it was appropriate for him to do so, but she didn't want to give up on the relationship with the boy.

"Sigh…maybe I'm rushing too fast. They're still kids... if only this lecherous brat was a little more interested in girls his own age, then maybe Hinata would have a chance to tie him completely to her.... Well, I can only pray for the best.
