Chapter 24 - The Game

They reached the kingdom at midnight, their grandmother was waiting for them at the main castle of the Wilsons. Eira was given the biggest bedroom as she was going to get crowned in a few days.

The next day, in the small meeting room of the Wilsons,

"The invitations to every kingdom and Queendoms and to many countries has been sent, your highness" the secretary of her grandma informs.

Grandma Emma nodded as she sipped her tea.

Eira studied each and every document sprawled in the table, it had every information about all the rulers.

"Dutchville Queendom?" Eira read out the name out loud.

"Every ruler should be present at the time of coronation and not to forget that they are one among the top 5 kingdoms" grandma Emma said, her eyes scanned the documents and threw them on the table, near Eira.

Eira picked up the document, it carried the information about the feud between both the kingdom and queendom.

"Won't our Kingdom turn into Queendom after my coronation?" Eira looked up to ask the question which she had been struggling to ask from the start, but everyone just ignored the question. She had some bad feelings about the answer.

The room fell into a pin drop silence.

The secretary nervously glanced at the matriarch, his back was drenched in sweat.

Emma's hands trembled and she placed the tea cup on the table and roamed her eyes on the documents on the table nonchalantly, but only she knew, her heart was in turmoil at the moment.

She stood up and walked out of the room while ignoring the obvious glare thrown at her.

Eira glared at the back of her grandma.

"I haven't yet agreed to be the queen, I will be the queen only when you stop keeping things from me" Eira yelled as the door closed.

Her mood worsened when the secretary entered the room and picked all the documents and went out without looking at her.

Where the hell is the respect?

.....

These difficult emotions, as it flowed like the river in her. She sits near the artificial lake upon the grass. The water flows with high velocity, after a few days, the water is calm again and so she is. There is nothing to be done about them, just stay calm, do healthy things and then everything is okay again.

Emma looked at the various colors of fishes in the water as she fed them. She chanted a small prayer which seemed to relax her mind, which was going berserk a moment ago.

Her raging emotion calmed down and now she was back to herself.

...….

Back in Raan, the capital city of Country W,

Albert walked on an empty dark street.

The street seems quiet and seems dead like his heart. The only sound he can hear are the sounds of his footsteps and the rustling sound of the leaves. The only thing that lits up with the light, the entrance of the alleyway is the light from the shining moon up in the sky. When he enters the alleyway, there is not even a single bit of a light as the alleyway is hidden behind the tall skyscrapers.

He walks with familiarity, his hands in his pocket.

After walking for like 15 minutes, he reaches a dream-like place, out of the bustling city, a small village.

The mini forest is brightly lit with fireflies, he walks as the fireflies parts to make a way for him.

He walks near a small cottage at the bank of the river. He sits on the step of the cottage and rests his head on the wooden door. He closes his eyes and opens again and looks up in the sky which is brightly lit with the stars and fireflies, unlike his heart.

Snippets of the past flashes in his mind, a small make up on his lips.

...

"One night, a portal to hell opens at the foot of your bed. A demon strides through and rips off your covers and begins to drag you through the portal by your ankle, saying, "You are going to help me settle a bet", and you are screaming there, almost shitting out of your pants..." the girl explains as she does various expressions from calm to scared and her hands gestures as she acts while explaining.

"I knew it but he doesn't believe me, DEMONS CAN STILL GRAB HUMANS EVEN IF THEIR BLANKETS ARE COVERING THEIR FEET" Albert says as she glares at everyone who did not believe her.

"That's not true, demons can't grab our feet. My whole life was in delusion, I thought they can't or you are lying " He says as he looks at her with doubt.

Everyone sitting on the grass rolls their eyes at him, he glares back at everyone.

"Ahhh, so boring, I thought we were going to have fun after bunking the school" Austin yawns as he closes his eyes and lays on the grass.

"Let's play a game then" Eira says mysteriously as her lips lifts up into an evil smirk making everyone tremble under her gaze.

"Let's play, but it should not be some trashy games like ouija board or some other paranormal games" Esther states the conditions.

"Alright, this game is different," Eira smiles.

Everyone circled and sat up straight on the grass, their eyes brightened as they stared at the 9 years old Eira.

"You guys have seen the old building behind one of the new skyscraper which was half built and was then abandoned and various rumors started to circulate that there was something wrong with the building, so the game is we split up in two teams and stay in the building for a whole night" Eira smirks as she explains.

Everyone smirks, what a nice and creepy game.

"Let's do it, tonight" Ethan agrees.

"Let's team up then" Albert offers.

"Wilson's siblings against each other" Ethan stares as he looks at his sister with challenge written all over his face.

"Sure, I am up for it" Eira agrees.

The team is divided,

Eira, Albert, Dash in one team, while Ethan, Austin, Aliyah in another team.
