"Let's get this straight right now you and I are partners Debby! I mean very good and happy partners right? That is what we agreed earlier on, isn't it?" Adebola questioned, raising his voice but none of the staff dare to show their face whenever he was in this mood. She nodded in fear as he spoke to her.
"You are grieving for Marcus and I am trying to grow my company so we stay above recession and government unnecessary bureaucracies. So no form of marital relations. Understood?" Adebola exclaimed in anger.
He wondered what had gotten into her head. He should never have kissed her at the wedding. Now she was behaving as though she was under the illusion that he was in love her and she was in love with him.
Debby stared at him as if he was spewing an unknown language from his mouth and yet she responded with a head nod.
In a manner that he was not expecting, she spoke out."I want to stay in the same room with you." She said it so innocently and calmly, trying to hold his hand as she talked. He pushed her hands away immediately withdrawing himself from such unnecessary attention.
"Why? What for?, What has come over you? Debby listen to me, Marcus is the love of your life and I cant be like him. So cherish his memory and mourn him enough. Surely eleven months is not enough my dear." He screamed and in a moment turned to look at her realizing she may be scared.
"I don't know how to stay in a new place by myself. The nights are very horrible. It's usually filled with nightmares." She said with tears in her eyes.
"Oh," he muttered. "Am so sorry about that but you should have said so at the beginning rather than make me scream my head out. I will tell them to move your things to the room next to mine. They are linked to each other. You can sleep in my room at night but stay in your room during the day. Is that fair enough?"
"Yes it is. Thank you. I won't disturb you" she said sadly trying to move away from his reach.
"Am so sorry for yelling at you. I misinterpreted your actions." Adebola spoke softly reaching out for her hands.
"It's alright. I didn't know how to say I was scared to you." Debby said looking in another direction.
"Please feel free to discuss whatever your needs are with me. We are partners like I said, Less I forget, we have to come to an arrangement of how much you would receive as payment for agreeing to this" He said.
"Okay, I would come up with a price and send to you soon" she responded.
"It's fair. I like that. One more thing, Fiona!" he called and a bursty dark in complexion, robust lady came out curtseying as she moved close.
"Good evening my Prince, good evening my Princess." The lady greeted.
"Please introduce yourself to my wife and let her know what your duties are. Send someone to take her luggage to the room next to mine" Adebola said walking up the stairs leaving Debby with the maid.
"My name is Fiona okafor. Am the head of the stewards in this household ma. Let me assemble them and call them out." Fiona said
"That would not be necessary. How many workers are in this house?" Debby asked looking around.
" We have four cooks, 8 cleaners, two stewards, two drivers, 10 mobile security men and two gate men"
"Wow, it is much!. it's an army over here" Debby whispered, surprised at Adebola's staff strength and puzzled in how he manages their salaries. This man indeed a big time employer of labour. "Yes ma but we dey manage am like that." Fiona said smiling.
"It's okay Fiona. Who would take my luggage upstairs. I don't know which car brought them in" Debby asked strolling around the living room.
"I will send the maids to do that ma. Don't worry about it ma." Fiona responded .
"if you say so Fiona, I would like a tour now so please kindly show me around."
Normally, such feat would be exhausting for an introvert like herself, but Debby was intrigued by how beautiful the house looks as she toured around. She had never seen in anything this grand except on television. Afterwards, she had dinner by herself in the large dining room hoping for Adebola to show up but he never came downstairs. She discovered that the maids supplied him his food at work too as the meals tasted so familiar. Feeling stuffed, she walked into her room which was another beautiful space entirely. Shredding her reception gown, she gazed at the white themed room, wondering which was the link door to her new husband's room.
Arriving at Adebola's room, through the main entrance, after she had taken her bath, dressed in a blue pyjamas, she knocked and was told to come in.
"I can see you have freshened up, why didn't you use the link door. it's better than exiting your room, walking all the way here" Adebola noted. Debby gazed at how big the room looked. It was really some walk to his room but not long enough as Adebola painted it.
A blue and gold theme room with gold drapes as the window blinds, it was bigger than her father's entire apartment. Having a gold fluffy rug as a center piece, it had a giant bed with more than 10 pillows she counted, at the middle of the room with a flat screen television at one extreme. The atmosphere reeks of royalty. There were doors to certain rooms inside the room which would probably be the restroom and a walk-in closet, she felt like she was in another world entirely.
"You did not come downstairs for dinner" She mentioned as she walked closer to the bed. Adebola was at his desk with a laptop opened in front of him. His leg was lifted on the table and he wore a white singlet with a loose pant slacks hanging around his waist. Drinking from the bottle water, he was holding he told her "They were not expecting me downstairs. They know that I rarely eat at home." "Oh I didn't know that. Goodnight" she casually said.
With that, Debby laid on the left side of the bed facing the exit door, wrapping the huge duvet around herself. The cotton sheets felt so soft as she quickly drifted off into a deep sleep.
Adebola watched the figure on his bed and questioned himself if he did the right thing. She looked angelic, lying down on his bed, the first woman to be in this house. He rubbed his eyes as it was wondering aimlessly gazing at her soft frame. Debby suddenly looked beautiful and he desired her. Rejecting the stupidity of his mind, he walked into the shower, closing the door, he turned on the cold water, for he needed to rinse his senses of whatever his mind was imagining with this dangerous specie of creation.
His erection rose to life and using his hand, he gave himself the much needed relief only to find himself muttering Debby as he climaxed! This girl wants to ruin him, he declared but he would not allow it.
