Chereads / Shine My Ètoile / Chapter 3 - First Step

Chapter 3 - First Step

The sun up there is really working very hard to burn anything down here. Although it tastes like being roasted alive, not many people move away from the crowd to find shelter. Summer makes their spirits swell. No matter how hard the skin turned red or the perspiration began to flow, these people still jostled themselves to the music of semirock bands on the stage.

I had enough trouble getting out of this crowd to regret not following Lucas around a while ago. While not entirely simple, at least two people are better than one. The sun up there really didn't help get rid of the density. It's worse than being stuck in a sauna. And let's not forget the smell of sweat that becomes one another. Blimey! I had to fight my way out of here with my breath held.

It's been a terrible summer.

My clothes were out of shape when I came out of the crowd. Several times pulled and propelled by strangers. At least having a rather large body kept me from falling over obstacles like that. It's not much different outside from being in the audience, it's just a little more relieved and free air.

I stared in the horror at my place trapped a moment ago. Someone (perhaps staff) was seen watering the crowd with water from a hose. It's like watering a goddamn plant. Instead of getting angry, these people are moving ever faster. Skipping about, dancing to a most deafening music.

Really into crowd love. Versus me.

Sounds weird, right?

A man who loves silence more ends up in a noisy place with a lot of people filling in. It doesn't really take much. I had always believed in my decision to be in a place like this, the routine every year since that day. But everyone also knew that things might become routine, repetition things would reach an end.

Work, school, romance, marriage all aspects that may last a long time can certainly reach their limit.

Perhaps this is also the end of my meeting with that man. Nobody knows. Therefore, my resolve grows in the air. Anything can happen, the future will change. So, before there was no chance I could reach, the courage took my feet to find the whereabouts of the man whose blue shappire.

Carefully search every place my eyes can. Keep a close eye on the guy. Maybe this summer can't be completely uncool. Because it only took me a few seconds to figure it out.

Standing on the right of the stage with some people, I'm sure they're members of the same dance group. Judging by the resemblance to their outfits. His grayish blonde hair stood out among the rest of the crew. Did he deliberately do a hair discoloration to explain his position as a center? Which was completely unnecessary. Believe it or not, if everyone here was asked in shifts about who was the brightest of the dance group, I can assure you that everyone would agree that the blue-eyed shappire was the most different.

He was incredible. The closer I get, the more I can see how captivating she is. Her blonde hair seemed to be waving in the wind. Increases the level of its charm. Every time he smiled, his fangs became clearer. Instead of being creepy, the fangs made his already sweet face grow even sweeter.

I don't understand how a man can have such a pretty face. Is he the embodiment of the Aphrodite goddess? Humans rarely have such beautiful faces.

It makes me kind of, uh, insecure.

Yeah, you know, I'm neither handsome or rich. I have short hair and brown, and my skin is not okay right now because it's been in the sun too long. Being as rosy as a boiled crab. And I didn't bring a bouquet of flowers or a brown bucket to give him. Lucas had only one drink left in him. Of course it wouldn't be a good idea if I came empty-handed.

Looks like a loser.

I don't want the first impression I've given him to bring bad image to remember. This could be my last meeting with that man.

I decided to look for anything to reflect my sincerity. Some stand next to each other. But separate according to what they have to offer. The line of stand on the right serves as a game rental. Shooting points, scoring with throwing tennis balls, throwing little bracelets at one point. Any game with the greatest gift if you can get any big points. But at my age, enough today, all that seems to be fun is a more hoax perpetrated by the stall owner. Lucas told me the same thing.

On the left, food stalls are packed with people. The line is really long. At this rate, my chances of meeting him are slim. But if I come empty-handed, it's even more embarrassing.

No, I can't give up.

There must still be one booth that doesn't get too crowded.

My search was fruitful, and a stall seemed to be quite free. There was only one buyer when I got there. A little boy went right after I got there. Well, this means I don't have to wait in line anymore.

"Excuse me.."

"Please Sir~"

There's all kinds of fruit wrapped in caramel in front of me. Grapes, strawberry, apple and pineapple. But what was most familiar to me was the shiny, red apple candy. The results of a hardened gluctose make sweet sensations less boring throughout the mouth walls. The caramel hardened will crack when bitten, and then you can feel the hard pollen that melts in the warm warmth of the tongue. Never a dull taste to try again and again.

I used to enjoy these candy apples as a kid. When visiting festivals or playgrounds, 90 percent of cotton candy consists of more wind than sugar. The big shape deceives the eye. Then the correct choice is the candy apple.

"One candy apple please."

"Just one? It's currently a two-for-one purchase promo, you can't lose."

Even though I knew it was a marketing technique, the offer did nothing to me.

"Sure, I'll take two then."

The man in the white hat with some yellow patch smiled wide. Feels that the marketing technique is a big success to me. He deftly pocketed three shiny red apple mints in one bundle.

"How much?" I asked as I took out my wallet, counting the bills I usually gave for two candy apples. Let's just say my question was a courtesy call, because I was too familiar with the price of one candy apple.

"11 dollars."

Now I understand why this guy smiled so much.
