Chapter 87 - The Elf woman / Lords Temper

As Stewart Lucas retrieved the chest Alden spoke off; The Apothecary guild confirmed their guess.

Their long trip to summer city was not in vain. Their mission before completing the transaction was to investigate who was behind the concoction. Who was this master Alchemist that could make such a potent concoction with purity. What formula had they used, what equipment did they need to complete it.

The Apothecary guild delved in days of research, attempting to shatter the formula behind the healing potion. While at the same duration, they sent their best men to establish some kinship with the Master Alchemist. Considering their standpoint, An alchemist is only as good as their craft; However, a master alchemist is also scarce in this land. Their numbers are vast in others.

Yet no matter how many there are of them, their quality of discipline is certainly questionable, especially in the kingdom of Adan.

The Apothecary guild was shocked beyond beliefs; at the capital where the kingdom was and the king's residence. The Apothecary guild head minsters are in awe; even though they have sent out their representatives with a quick, decisive move, they pray to obtain more of this potion.

------------------------

Not much time had passed; the guest were in the complete joy of listening to the words of the city lord's command. They knew all too well that a chest does not come in small sizes.

"Thank you, young Lord Alden; thank you." The young man spoke; an obvious sign of relief could be seen in their eyes.

'think none of it.'

'tis merely my task of handling the trade.' Alden spoke.

[of course, it's not for free,] Alden thought.

As queue to his thoughts, Alden saw the elf woman frowned, puzzled as to why she would; it only gives him a headache for overthinking.

He let it be, only because his interest in her made him think this.

[... oh fascinating] Yet a lingering thought arose when he saw the young man notice the elf woman frown, he shivered in moment enough for the others not to notice. But Alden, with his keen eyes, saw it all.

[.....]

[as long as they drag me into it]

[everything should be fine] Alden thought. He indeed was not all that unaware of the elf woman bearing. She conducted herself as someone untouchable. For all this time, she did not say a word, nor did she intrude to show any courtesy of manner to the city lord.

For Alden's puzzlement, she must be someone of higher status than him or just someone who refuses to bow to him.

Alden's reputation in this city was honestly not that grand, nor did it get any better. He just let it be for the time being. It will benefit him in the long run. Plus, he did make an exemption because of her race, not her mood. Therefore he shrugged his shoulder at the elf woman's lack of manner.

"My lord," Lucas spoke; walking from the entrance door, in his hands, Lucas held a medium chest, a very elegantly crafted chest that Alden has purchased from the System.

On his way towards Alden, Stewart Lucas suddenly felt something was wrong; the elf woman's eyes target the chest. Her eyes flickered when she saw it—giving Alden enough time to notice that those eyes of hers are not simple.

Alden felt a fluctuation of mana for just a brief moment that the elf woman's eyes radiated; he became intrigued and surprised.

[she's a mage?]

[.....]

[she an elf after all] Alden thought, Yet Alden eyes wide at what had occurred, As Stewart Lucas walking towards him, the elf woman started to murmur silently, so silent that even Alden, with his senses leveled, had a difficult time deciphering what she was uttering

Then it happened

*DING*

{Wind element detected}

*DING*

{Wind element detected}

*DING*

{Wind element detected}

{Does the host wish to absorb?}

[What, no] Alden responded quickly, paying no heed to the System anymore; Alden jeered his head close to watch the play.

The elf woman's entire body became illuminated with blue lights, highlighting her appearance, making her look even more dazzling than she was before.

On the other side, Lucas stopped in his tracks, seeming as if he could not move willingly, nor could he do anything about it.

The young man and the other guest from the capital conveyed fear and panic;

Sambor, on the other hand, just seemed surprised. Instead of paying attention to Stewart Lucas, who had a puzzling yet fearful expression, he turned to the elf woman who had her hands stretched out and aimed at Lucas.

Stewart Lucas's entire body also now resembles the elf woman's; his body froze and began to float. Then

[System, cancel her chant] Alden commanded;

He had enough to see where this would lead, Alden exactly did not want to cause trouble, but the elf woman seemed to be the one looking for it.

*DING*

{Affirmand command}

Alden's body suddenly yet mysteriously vibrated and blurred, While the guest and everyone are paying attention to the elf woman and her doing.

A sudden sound of shattered glass became audible, even enough to make people think that a rock crushed onto one of the windows, breaking it.

*KUSHAA*

"agh," the elf woman sounded; A pained expression held her, she turned to find herself face to face with many eyes on her.

"..." As the pendulum circles around the moment to respond, the elf woman didn't bother denying it— she didn't know enough on what to do—the guest who came with her had a look of worry in their eyes. Yet her main concern seems to be somewhere else; she retrieved her hand and looked around, searching for something or someone.

Alden snorted

"Miss Allerie, Please," The young man who came with her whispered towards the elf woman. He appeared to panic with the rest.

What was she doing? Why has she done it? How has she done that? These are the questions Sambor had in his head; simultaneously, Lucas, on the other side, fell on his feet and just stood there, free of control.

Silence fell inside the quest house.
