The young man who brought the attention to himself quickly side glanced at Sambor, who had a serious yet friendly expression. They nodded at each other. As a form of affirmation, the young man turned towards Alden, gave a slight bow, and spoke.
[such amateur tactic]
[let's see where this will lead] Alden thought.
"Time to come off our gracious rest and let us talk business." His voice was timid but loud
"Young lord Alden, As you may know, as the biggest merchant guild in the capital, our occupations are never comfortable."
"This is an awful position." He dramatically spoke
"Even for nobles such as you're esteem self know, everyone in the entire world wants something."
"Usually, it's something someone else has and wants to keep."
"There's nothing new about it. It's the way of civilization."
"you can't change it, not for good, not forever."
"the only thing you can do is 'manage it,' which is where I come in," he emphasizes.
"We are the arbiter of the banner of ambitions."
Alden blinked and praised his introduction in his thought; he continued.
"In the capital, the now and here is the purpose."
"The people need things to believe in, which is where you come in, Young Lord Alden."
[Me?] Alden thought
"The prodigal genius arise to fame and fortune with the Apothecary guild.
"young lord Alden, this is business."
"We are after an ideal, a story that will spread wide."
"the kind of story the people and great houses can really shift behind."
He paused and glanced at Sambor; like a queue to the line, Sambor fallowed.
"young Lord, your product is an eye-opener." Sambor praised
"As you may know, my lord."
"With your directive, I indeed ventured to the Capital and had as you name 'vial of kindred spirit" potion to be appraised."
"I was astonished at its finding, such potent and valuable product."
[tell me something I don't know}
"With such discovery, 'Vial of kindred spirit' marketed as a valuable item at a high cost," Sambor spoke,
It sent a signal to one of the older men beside Sambor. The older man had a large bag of holding that rested on him; he picked it up and handed it to Sambor.
[So that's what it was]
[my gold] Alden thought] Alden thought
"My lord," Sambor bowed with a large bag in his hand. He approached slowly towards Alden; Stawert Lucas saw this and walked toward Sambor and took the bag.
"This is the total amount of 21,000 gold that was exchanged for the batch of 6 Vial of kindred spirits."
Alden is stunted; six potions of vial of kindred spirits were sold for 3500 gold each. He tested it; two drops were too substantial of a dose. Alden was sure that he only added one drop to a liter of water. Advised by the system to add two drops, Alden ignored it and added only one depth. When Alden first acquired the potion a few months back, he mixed it with water and tested it on his captured subject.
A thief intruded on his premise when he was attacked by a demon named Leon. He captured the thief, took her belonging, and locked her in the underground prison. One night he went inside with his shadow form and took the thief out to Luner circle; inside the abandoned castle, he tortured the woman and healed her. To his surprise, two drops mixed with water were actually beyond miracles.
He would cut her arms and feed her the healing potion; it did not take even a second for whatever body part was removed; it regenerated and replaced. This finding alarmed Alden; this heaven-like potion was beyond him. He thought deeply about whether he should not sell it; perhaps he should save it for himself.
That truth made Alden rethink his ideas. If the potion drew too much attention on himself, Alden does not know the outcomes. Just a mere two drops; what would happen if he added four or six or even more.
I mean, Of course, he's looking to amass fortune quickly but not quickly enough to draw death with it.
Alden re-planed and tested the outcomes of the potion, time and time again. One drop was a success.
He discovered that if he added one drop to one liter of pure water, the cut of a body part would not regenerate; the healing process becomes limited only to open wounds and fractured bones.
Happy with the result, Alden killed the woman; she was a nuisance and a hindrance. Whenever Alden fed her the potion, she would try to fight him at every step or try to escape. At even times, the woman would try to kill herself so Alden would not torture her. She could only blame herself for daring to rob him at his castle. He burned her body and buried the evidence. He packed his things and left the area.
