Chapter 34 - Isu tribe women

An hour later, Katheryn got down, rubbing her eyes, all hung over from last night.

She saw Aragon sitting at the kitchen table. Then she walked to the table.

"Where did you sleep last night?" She asked him after not finding him in bed. She told him to sleep in the same bed as her.

"I am going to the mountains again and will return before the sun goes down."

He left after he finished speaking without answering her question. Katheryn cleared her eyes and looked at his departing figure.

"Hmm," she pondered as she rubbed her temples."Ahh! "My head. This damn hangover."

She picked up the jug of water on the table and drank it. She went upstairs to sleep again.

Rhaet and a few other members were gathered at the entrance of the village. Ivar was also present with Egnav. Rhaet decided it, they were said to prepare to go to the Isu tribe.

They have waited for a day to rest.

They were about 30 men who were now moving with Rhaet. He sent a man to check on the status of the Isu tribe, now that it had no leader and most of its men had been killed.

He returned with interesting information. The tribe now only had women. Not a single man was seen among them except for the kids. All the men seem to have come to their village the other night.

Rhaet then decided to go.

It was supposed to be a half-day trip, but it took much longer than expected. Reaching the mountain's top region, they could feel the cold winds brush their skin. The daylight wasn't affecting the winds here.

A few hours before noon, they reached the Isu tribe.

They didn't see anyone outside. So they moved to the wooden shelter. All shelters seemed to cover with thick leaves. All of them looked like triangular-shaped huts, with varying sizes.

A large hut at the end of all the grass, its entrance covered in the even thicker, longer grass.

Rhaet and his men moved towards the big hut.

They walked quietly not making any sound. As they suspected that someone might be in the hut.

Rhaet signaled one of his men to remove the cover of the entrance.

A stout man stepped forward and walked near the hut. He grabbed the grass leaves and lifted them.

Rhaet raised his right eyebrow, peering at them.

By removing the leaves, a group of women and children were revealed. They were all holding their breath, not making a single sound until the cover was removed, trying their best not to let them be discovered.

The moment they were revealed, a few of them started crying, faces filled with full of terror.

Rhaet gazed at everyone, and after a thought, he concluded. All the men of the Isu tribe must have come to attack the village; that explained their numbers. They didn't leave the teenagers and every single man; they brought everyone. Now only the women were left behind.

They seemed to be hiding, just their wishful thinking that they wouldn't be found by whoever comes looking for them.

A woman came forward; she wore a rugged short skirt and a cloth wrapped around her breasts. Her golden blonde hair was in braids, which were then tied into a bun, almost covering most of her head. She was about 169 cm tall with a curvaceous figure and well-endowed, shapely breasts.

Her blue eyes filled with determination as she looked at Rhaet.

She now stood facing him.

"I am Eliza."

"Are you from the Solvwulf tribe?"
