Just as things were looking more in the favour of Ki, many voices had spoken up in a more childish tone than before but it was still as creepy and eerie as before since they had spoke together like they were still all one entity. "You have not won."
The ground beneath Ki had split open and many skeletons started to crawl out of the black blood.
Their hands had grasped onto her clothing and legs as they had each found something to grab onto to pull themselves up her body.
Some had tried to pull her down deep into the black blood and what was deep beneath it.
The voices had continued. "You may not recognise them in this state but you soon will."
Ki looked down towards the skeletons that had damaged bones and were full of the black blood that covered then then some of the skulls had started to change in front of her eyes. "Oh… so it is this now?"
The faces of the skeletons had started to take on different forms of those that Ki had either killed, failed to protect or had somehow been harmed by her or others that may have had something to do with her own inaction or relation to those events.
"Why?"
"Why did you leave?"
Her own parents faces appeared followed by her own brother then her grandmother as they had each threatened to disrupt her calm state of mind.
"You should have died with the family."
More curses and accusations came towards her from the skeletons that had taken on the forms of her loved ones that had passed away.
Ki looked at them with affection in her eyes and spoke. "I am sorry for being so clueless and weak back then but.. I was just a child then and it was not possible to do anything but to run away. You are all alive and well now so I have done enough."
The voices came from beyond the black shroud of mist, clouds and miasma which had many pairs of red glowing eyes staring towards Ki. "You failed to do anything back then but you believe that you can keep them safe? You are just fooling yourself."
Ki nodded in response. "Yes.. that is one of my greatest fears and I cannot exactly predict how everything will work out much later. I may be unable to protect them in the end but I cannot just give up now. I have to at least try."
"Huh.."
"So arrogant."
"You cannot protect anyone."
"You who have killed so many cannot be allowed to protect others."
"What about the vengeance?"
More faces appeared of those she had directly or indirectly killed along with the faces of Rayleigh when she was the Snow Fairy and others like her former master that was Marilyn.
"You should have died instead."
"You spiteful monster."
"Just die alone."
"Why bother the rest of us with your quest for revenge."
Ki had let out a sigh once another face had appeared among them which had been the one that would have been the biggest trigger for her.
"You dare poison me?!"
"Do you think I will let this go?"
"You must be having a nice time with your family now that you have killed me and for over your so called need for revenge."
"Do you think this is over? Kekeke!"
"So long as I exist! I will spread my influence across these lands and will take what I want!"
"Everyone in this world is mine for the taking and your precious family will be one of my precious resources."
A frenzied and insane laugh had come from him who was the Blood Sect leader as he continued to curse and threaten Ki with what would happen in the future.
"It."
"Is."
"Inevitable!"
"Kakakkaekekeke!"
The sounds of the clacking of the jaws of the skull belonging to the sect leader had added to the irritation and unpleasantness that Ki had to face.
The voices spoke in a taunting tone. "You still have vengeance in your heart and all it would take is just one small tragedy to set you on that path again. Why bother trying to change or trying to suppress it? Strike him. Kill him! He is your enemy!
Do not bother lying about getting over everything already. We both know that you could not leave things as they were and had decided to act against the Blood Sect. I know that you have plans to cause them further harm.
Those are not the thoughts and actions of someone that had put everything behind them! You still want to continue on that path of slaughter and vengeance so stop denying your true self."
Ki turned her head and suddenly her foot had lifted off the ground as if it was unaffected by the skeletons that had pulled at her then continued to walk toward the shrouded figure. "Your fears have come from my fears. So have many other negative parts of myself.
The main difference is that you are lacking in the positive side and fail the see anything from a more positive or hopeful standpoint. You, I or We are all the same but have subtle differences in the way we think and wish to deal with things but I cannot let you run rampant on the world."
Suddenly the skeleton behind her had shouted. "Where are you going?"
"Kekeke!"
"I heard that there is a new addition to your family now?"
"Naara is her name correct?"
"Such a cute adorable child.. ah!"
"I cannot wait to see the sheer terror distort her little face as the life drains from her."
Ki had continued onward and said. "Even for me… that was a little too far but I will be the better part of myself and forgive myself."
She walked forward into the the black shroud of mist, clouds and miasma where the black blood was going up to her knees then she had pulled the figure that was the main body of her heart demon into her embrace. "I forgive myself and accept it for what it is."
