The man thought that everything would go smoothly against the twins and he would receive many benefits to start a new life as he had the backup of his men that were known to be small time thugs.
Himself and the thugs could easily handle a pair of young adults that only focussed on blacksmithing.
As he pointed the sword towards them he spoke. "Kill them both."
However as soon as his arm stretched out with the sword pointing forward a sharp tearing pain was felt on his arm. "Argh."
Immediately he could no longer hold onto the sword so it fell to the ground.
He looked down at his arm within the dark environment but could faintly see several deep claw marks as if he has been attacked by an animal.
Unknown to him a pair of eyes had been watching their actions the whole time and was waiting for orders on whether to strike or not.
He held his wrist which had been wounded and yelled towards his men. "Something is in here. Catch or kill it right away!"
Upon witnessing this sudden change the twins took the opportunity to back away from the group of intruders and enter the other room and closed the door.
They immediately began to barricade the door to keep them out.
Meanwhile in the main part of the store the men had a hard time locating the creature that had attacked their boss.
Under the cover of darkness, the fox agilely moved towards the next target.
Instead of leaping up to scratch which left itself vulnerable in the air for a short time it changed its strategy after scratching the bosses wrist.
It leaped by one of intruders legs and as it passed by it swiped its claws towards the back of one of his legs and then disappeared out of sight once again.
The man had been targeted at the back of the joint in his knee so was unable to stand in a stable manner so had no choice but to take a knee to the ground.
Before he could make any attempts to stop the blood flow of his wound he suddenly felt a force push on his neck knocking him back to the floor.
As the fox charged it leapt onto his neck and began to bite and tear into it in a frenzy.
It suddenly received orders in its mind so stopped and controlled its frenzied state then ran away from the dead body.
Just as it ran away a sword was swung in the location it had previously been.
The fox disappeared but the smell of blood remained within the room.
The boss and the remaining men were shocked at the brutality of the small fox that had revealed itself and how fast it was.
The boss saw a small figure flicker between different places at a high speed as it passed through the intruders legs as they tried to attack it but it kept swiping towards the back of their foot, the back of their knee joint and also the lower leg muscle which it had an easier time to reach and attack.
Two more men had been brought down to the ground and had one or two injured legs so they could not remain standing and were closer to the ground.
By now the boss was already frightened and yelled. "Retreat! Retreat!"
He could no longer risk staying here no matter what benefits he could gain.
He held his bleeding wrist and looked towards the sword on the ground for a moment but gave up on it in the end so he dropped the sheathe while trying to find another weapon close by.
He found a large wooden staff to protect himself and tried to move towards the exit with his remaining men.
Just as they were about to get close enough to the exit several screams followed and the remaining men that he had brought with him had also been injured.
Some of the previous injured people were still alive and trying to crawl towards the exit too but they were not nearly as close as the others and their boss.
Remembering the death of their comrade they had fear in their hearts that the same would soon happen to themselves.
Just as the boss reached the exit he saw the moonlight hit his outstretched fingertips as he was just about to enter the streets once more and make his way back to his own building but reality was not so kind to him.
He could feel the sharp tearing pain on the back on his foot and his body fell forwards so that half of his body was outside of the door while the other half was still within the store.
In the slum area most people tend to mind their own business and keep to themselves when something happens whether it be vandalism, harassment or stealing so they ignored the breaking noises.
They even ignored it when the voices became louder and more panicked and the screams had continued as people were hurt or dying.
On the cold ground the boss tried to crawl out of the room with his depleting energy but before he could gain a sense of freedom a small figure jumped onto his back and began to bite into the side of his neck and rip it apart. "Aaaah!"
The scene entered the eyes of his men and the screams echoed throughout the streets.
The fox turned around and began to quickly finish off the remaining men and then began to lick its claws and feet clean before leaving the store to go clean itself and find a safe place to hide during the chaos that will follow.
Not long after some people had become curious and had decided to see what had happened so went to witness the aftermath but when they arrived at the location of the store they found the dead bodies which had clearly visible bite and claw marks that had been left by a small to medium sized animal.
They also found that the store had been messed up and there was lots of evidence of the group that had attempted to loot the store.
After seeing that everyone was dead they headed towards the locked door and knocked on it to check if the owners somehow had survived the attack.
