Chapter 37 - Enemy intel

Another day passed allowing the group to digest what they had learned the night before and consolidate their foundation.

Ki sat before Rashida who held a report in hand. "Tell me what you have learned."

"Young miss, the man spoke quickly with a little torture. The first thing is about their group, they have a 2nd rate martial artist as their leader and 3 more 3rd rate martial artists, then there are around 20 others within their camp. Their walls aren't built properly so can only keep out beasts, they have a few lookouts during the day and night while the others are sleeping and they are supposed to go meet with the others at their campsite in 2 days." Rashida listed everything useful that the man had confessed. "We also managed to obtain the location of their camp. The reason they did not help until now was because they were preoccupied with stealing a wolf pup from a pack of northern ice wolves that had slipped through the northern border and settled in the forest.."

"The parents were enraged and began to track down their child and some of the bandits men got injured before the leader could shoot a couple of arrows into the wolves ending their lives." Rashida continued. "I believe while some of the less strong bandits got injured holding the wolves back, the stronger and more important ones are still fine so they will be able to move out of their camp on the set time. I believe it is best to strike at them before they are aware that we attacked their men and when they are still unaware of our existence.

Ki smiled upon hearing her suggestion. "Tell everyone to train a little but don't overdo it and then get some rest. I want everyone in their best condition by the time night comes. You can drain the prisoner as they are no longer needed and then make sure to bury the body."

Rashida bowed to Ki before leaving the room. "Yes Young miss!"

Sitting alone Ki thought for some time before going back to train, the extra vitality gained from the night before had helped to replace most of the vitality sacrificed during the month of training so she put in a little more effort than usual before resting after eating.

Her progress had been fast during this time and since completing her mystical arts and Generation Qi Art she had made up for any defects that may have negative effects during her training.

Ki made great progress in her poison arts during this time thanks to her building up her immunity, the addition of the gu in her body and from her poison Qi being also nurtured by her blood Qi which lead it to slowly grow stronger.

She no longer needed to be extra careful about the vitality sacrificed so long as she found a couple of necessary sacrifices and that was covered last night by the bandits.

The more her blood Qi grows the higher her healing ability and stamina becomes and the more she trains the faster her growth, the more stamina and ability to recover the more she can push herself forward.

Most martial artists in training or those who wish to improve their amount of Qi within their body consume medicines to help them improve their bodies condition and the quality or quantity of their Qi, some use miracle drugs to help breaking through to the next realm.

Blood Qi works in a similar way, just like how a martial artist boosts their amount of Qi by consuming a drug, a blood martial artist consumes the vitality within the blood as if it were a tonic or drug to help in their growth and training.

Just like old and powerful clans were able to use tonics and pills to help boost their talents growth speed, Ki was able to do the same the more people she killed and drained.

The blood sects main philosophy is that everything in the world is a resource to be used.

Plants possess Qi or vitality, so do animals and so do people so what was wrong with killing and taking from those who could not defend their own resource?

Ki however thought differently from the blood sects ideology in her previous life, she only took from those that tried to kill her and in this life she did and will do the same to those she acknowledged as a threat or an enemy.

Night was approaching and Ki carried a flask and sword at each side of her waist, a bow and quiver full of arrows on her back and a sleeve dart strapped to her wrist beneath her clothes.

She put on a black cloak which covered her body and the hood helped hide some of her face then she sneaked out of the mansion under the cover of darkness.

After meeting the group of masked people they all began to make their way to the targets location that they had marked on the map.

Soon they arrived outside of the wooden walls which had been build with some parts of cut down trees and other old pieces of wood which seemed to have been scavenged or stolen from other places.

Ki surveyed the surroundings and spoke quietly as possible. "I have spotted around 2 men who are on lookout duty on each side of their camp and they are equipped with a bow so we need to be careful. I will take care of the lookouts and then we will find a way inside, the camp is quiet right now so it should be around the time they are resting. We still need to be extra quiet and cautious unless we want to suffer more injuries than last night. There is more danger so there is a bigger risk of dying."

Ki waited for the guards to communicate with each other to check if they were taking their role seriously but the guards barely looked at each other from both walls on each side of the camp.

Ki smiled as she placed an arrow into the bow and pulled the string back taking aim, she quietly got closer to the wall but the man on watch did not notice anything.

A man sat down at the top of the wooden wall in a lookout position but lazily leaned back in his seat and took a sip of his ale. "Why is it always me on lookout duty, we never encounter any problems in this part of the fore…"

Suddenly an arrow flew by which was then pierced into the back of his head.

Shortly after another man on the other side of the wall was dealt with in the same manner after Ki circled around the camp walls.

Rashida appeared behind Ki and spoke. "We have found a hole in their walls that we can enter."

Ki nodded. "Okay show me."
