Chapter 22 - Greedy Goblins Dungeon II

~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Date: February 9th, 2297)~~~

~~~(Time: 1:50 PM)~~~
I've cleared the majority of the paths so far, and now all that's left is the path that Klein is down and then the boss. I've gained 50 EXP towards my player level, Dark Vines has gained 25 EXP and has leveled up to level 2. Black Spear has gained 30 EXP, and it's close to leveling up. I'm almost level 8, and by the time I'm done with this dungeon, I'll be pushing 9. I've made great progress so far, and my skills are working out great for pretty must all situations and encounters. It's strange to have this kind of power.
In my mind, I've validated the claims Devin Leo had made about Darkness Incarnate. I've also collected a total of 51 gold so far, and that's pretty decent for the first run of the Greedy Goblins Dungeon. I'm back at the starting point for all the paths, and I make my journey down the path that Klein is being held. I can hear the slobbering and pattering of tiny feet deeper down the path. Greedy Goblins are a slightly smaller variant in the Goblin species. However, at the smell of gold, they begin drooling and jumping around.
It's a good sign to know what you're up against cause Greedy Goblins are the same color as regular goblins. It's hard to tell them apart in the wild. Distinct characteristics separate them. "Heeellpp..." A light groan coming from a man echoes from deeper down the path. It's hollow and almost dead. Klein has been thoroughly tortured, and it's not going well in his favor. He's lucky that I'm here. I turn a corner, and plenty of goblins can be seen. Dark Vision makes it so easy in these dark areas. Goblins love the dark and can see in it.
I use Dark Vines on a group of 6, and it kills them without me having to use Black Spear. However, the new mana cost is already detrimental. I focus on the other 4 charging at me, and I use Black Spear. I continue clearing out these little fuckers and following the path as I do. I've already been in this dungeon for 3 hours, and it's taken its toll mentally. I have to stop every 15 kills to recharge my mana, but it's recharging so much faster. All thanks to the new recharge rate of +5 mana per second instead of +1.
My slaughtering of the goblins and the distance I've covered too far indicates that I'm getting closer to Klein. I see a door up ahead. This is accurate to the lore. Beyond that door were Klein's bones. This time around, someone is here on time to save him. "Someone one help..." A small chill runs up and down my spine. The voice of Klein sounds dead and weak. Truly an eerie feeling when hearing something so... Empty. I've slain plenty of Goblins and gained another 12 gold, along with 15 EXP towards my player level and 15 EXP towards Black Spear and Dark Vines.
Black Spear has upgraded, and the mana cost has risen once again. No time to worry about that. I approach the door and push it open. As I do, I look upon a scene that wasn't in the lore of the dungeon. A mini-boss. "Well, we have a visitor, my precious Klein..." The voice is coming from the monster in front of me. How in the hell is a Wraith in The Greedy Goblins Dungeon? I look around the room, and I see goblins dead and strewn about. She's not a mini-boss. She's a hidden boss. The original clearing team of the dungeon never encountered her.
She's only here cause Klein is still alive. That's the only difference between then and now. Why in the hell is a fucking Wraith interested in Klein? I use scan on her, and she's a Rare grade. She's also level 35 with 450 health. I can one-shot her, but I don't know what she's got for defenses. "Don't be shy. Step forward. Ever since the fort was abandoned, I've been so lonely..." That's what it is. This Wraith has been here predating the Greedy Goblins that have set up shop here. I don't know if I can beat her, but I'm going to try.
