"White! No."
Snow shouted in horror but it was already too late. The Disciple was already in the air with a dumb look on his face. His expression quickly changed that of pain as he hit the ground with a thud and bounced off pathetically. He got up and looked behind to see a white beast growling at him. He felt wrong, all he wanted to do was just pet it a little.
Snow hurriedly went to Disciple and bowed her head and said,
"I am so sorry senior brother."
The Disciple wanted to scold her but felt an extreme killing intent oozing out of the white beast. He knew instinctively that if he opened his mouth now there was a possibility no matter how slim he would end up like some certain group of Disciples.
"Nonono. It's not your fault Junior Snow. I was the wrong one."
The Disciple finished it with an uncomfortable laugh. He quickly got up. He then quickly said,
"I was sent here to notify you that Lin is awake. Big brother Yoi told me to notify you and told you not to look for him for a few hours. As Lins presences are required somewhere else argent."
As he said that he noticed how Snow's face went from bewilderment to happiness to gloomy. So did the killing intent from the beast as it increased with each emotion it peaked at happiness and reduced a bit her gloominess.
After he said that he quickly ran off from there. But he didn't make it far from the Beast Hill as something out of nowhere hit him and trapped him in an ice cage.
Unaware of this Snow felt something jump on her shoulder. She saw her beast nuzzling on her shoulder. She patted the creature on ahead as it whimpered and made small bird-like noises. She liked to rub the beasts' checks. They looked and felt soft and squishy. Snow's mood was lifted as she played with her beast. She then put her hand under the beast's front paw and bought it back in front of her and looked at it.
It had a silly look with one tongue outside. As she held it in her arms, it tilted its head. Snow still remembered when she woke up she saw a cute little white beast sleeping on her stomach As soon as Snow got up it also opened its eyes and jumped on her nuzzling its head on her shoulder. Although its horns obstructed a little she didn't mind. She remembered how it protected her when she needed it the most. She hugged it tightly. It licked her ear and wagged its black, golden and blue feathery tail.
At that time it was small but now it was as big apart from that no change was apparent. Snow looked at the beast and said,
"White I told you not to attack anyone without my permission."
White wagged its tail and nodded. She bought White closer to her before rubbing her forehead with the beasts and saying,
"You nod all the time but you don't listen you, naughty boy. As a punishment no food for you."
Snow said with puffed cheeks. It's smiling and energetic expression faded as it looked at her blankly. All of his paws dropped to the side as small drops of tears appeared on his black eyes.
"Leave it. It will cause trouble for other beasts here."
Suddenly a female voice came from behind Snow. She turned around and held White facing that way. White looked at the incoming person. He was really familiar with her. He growled at her but stopped by Snow.
"Your beast actively beats up other beasts and eats their food on a good day. And you spoil that beast..."
Before she finished her sentence White swiped his paws at the woman. A white sphere went towards her at astonishing speed. As it reached her she slapped it away. It went to a different angle, towards the Medicine Hall and disappeared on the horizon. Which was followed by a few seconds of silence then an earth-shattering scream,
"MY PILLS!"
Snow immediately knelt on the ground,
"Teacher forgive me. I will absolutely control him from now on."
She also held White's head forcefully down. He didn't resist.
"Lady Dala it's time for the lecture."
One of the disciples came to her quickly. She sighed and said,
"Snow go to Thousand Cage Mountain and reflect for half a day with your beast. Then come and meet me."
With that Lady, Dala walked back with the disciple. Snow lifted her head and looked at White. He was sitting on his back legs while cleaning off the dirt from his face with the first two. He tried to avoid Snow's gaze but she quickly pulled both of his cheeks and said,
"This is the fourth time we got into trouble. I wanted to see Lin so bad."
He was smiling with his small fangs visible. Snow could tell the moment Lin's name came up a small snort released from its mouth.
Snow dropped her hand and picked White up and made her way towards the Thousand Cage Mountain with a gloomy face.
Meanwhile,
"From now on Disciples from the Six Sects of the Kingdom will be stationed in Four Leaf City. Our sect will provide for Eternal Night Sect."
Sect Master Yazi said while looking at Lin.
Lin knew things would change but to this degree was entirely out of his expectations. Almost 15000 years ago a battle was fought in the Mortal Realm.
A time when True Immortals roamed the realm. Most of the Artifacts were from that time.
It was called the Golden Age of Cultivation. But like everything, all things must end. As such a great war devastated the Realm.
A war between Immortals.
The conclusion of that war was unknown, the exact details of the war were never passed down and as a consequence of that war Art of True Immortality and Doorway to Divinity was lost.
A piece of common knowledge among all Cultivator.
It was also known among all, that during this war Demon Gods and their zealots were banished to the Demon Realm, although there were remains of their teaching all of it were frowned upon.
Nobody knew the reasons.
Due to this lack of information and continuous downfall in Cultivation and this was called the Age of Erosion.
During the Cataclysm, Lin researched through ancient text, and symbols but found nothing. Until the Demonic Cultivators made their way to the Mortal Realm. He found a hint of the real cause of Cataclysm.
But before he could work on it tragedy stuck and Lin was forced to use Timeless and travel back in time.
The clue he found out was just one word 'Lord of Time'.
Lin had no lead to follow through.
But now after traversing time Lin felt even more threatened.
The Nightmare Realm was nowhere to be seen. An event that should have happened ten years from now was pushed forward.
The only silver lining was no one here was more powerful than a Peak Foundation Realm Expert as monsters from Soul Forging Realm didn't make their way here.
Lin suddenly remembered something and asked,
"When Snow was stuck in that weird place a Cultivator named Fang was sent after us. Did he make out safe?"
Senior Seven Sword and Sect Master Yazi looked at each other. Lin looked at both of them alternating his gaze between them and Hasie who was smiling faintly.
"He provoked the Three Chariot Sect. Unlike our Eternal Night Sect, they are a very vengeful bunch."
Hasie replied calmly. Lin understood what could have happened. From that limited time, Lin knew that Fang was extremely talented and possibly had inherited the Right Eye of Mystery. But Fang was like an unpolished jade yet sharper than a sword. Lin wanted to polish the jade and make a proper sword out of it.
But Lin knew that was now slim. Because he remembered the law of the Six Sects. Any grievance must be paid a hundredfold. Chances were he was already dead. Lin felt sad losing someone like Fang who could have proven to be a valuable ally.
"He was supposed to be executed but somehow by the stroke of fate he survived and escaped."
Yoi said with a neutral expression. Lin was shocked but felt that was obvious. An inheritor of the Right Eye of Mystery would not be captured easily.
Lin wanted to ask where if they knew where Fang could've gone.
But he suddenly felt the hair of his neck stand up. And the temperature in the room dropped by a few degrees.
Lin summoned his sword and swung behind him. His swing looked like a blur and a small swoosh sound was accompanied by it as it cut through the air.
Lin wasn't the only one who noticed it. Hasie looked behind Lin and almost in sync he bought out his spear from the storage and thrust it behind Lin.
As did Senior Seven Sword did with his sword. Only instead of a spear, seven identical swords flew behind Lin.
There was no sound nor any ripple of Qi in the air. All their attacks stopped dead in their attack no matter how much momentum they had.
A small girl with a mushroom hat was standing there with a stick that was clearly too big for her size. Another person was standing behind her with a cracked mask with their hand raised slightly. The girl bowed towards them and said in a stuttering voice,
"My...my name is Vi. I...I...we...they..."
Soon her white ears were turning red as she failed to complete her sentence. Feeling the bewildered gaze of everyone she hurriedly pulled down her hat over her face covering her eyes and squatted down with her hands on her head murmuring something. Then they heard a voice from behind saying,
"As one of the Elders from the Midnight Merchant, Elora Vi Shadow would like to invite that young man for a talk."
The person pointed their finger at Lin as they finished their sentence.
