KENDRELOUS P.O.V.
Kendrelous smiled at the pretty blonde waitress. From the outside it looked as if he was flirting but really he was trying to determine if Senrous would allow her to slip between his sheets once a week. "Are you into BDSM?" A rough and familiar voice growled from behind him. He did not need to turn around to know that it was his alpha. Even worse, he had been caught doing exactly what he had yelled at Kedian for doing the night before.
"Not really... sorry sir." She smiled at Kedian apologetically. It was obvious that she had misinterpreted the question. "Can I get you anything? A drink? Or a towel, maybe?" She asked. At this Kendrelous finally turned to look at his best friend. The older man was soaked to the bone and had a dark expression on his face.
"A private room. I need to talk to my beta alone." Kedians voice was so quiet that Kendrelous had to strain to hear it over the loud music that thumped like a heart beat. That was never good. Anyone who knew Kedian Blood knew that when he was yelling and puffing out his chest you stood a chance of walking away from the encounter. But when he was quiet, there was only one person who dared to stand in front of the Alphas' silent wrath and live to tell. No one understood why these two were so close, considering the twelve year age difference. No one, not even Keskian, knew the strength of their bond.
"Your room is ready, sir. Please follow me." The waitress had returned and was now leading them through the curtain at the back of the club's main room. They navigated through a set of dark narrow hall ways. The only light came from the tiny dim bulbs that illuminated each rooms number on either side of them. Finally she stopped infront of a door that had the number 67 on the wall to the left. She turned the key and held the door for them as they entered. The room was large with a fully stocked mini bar taking up the right wall. Three poles stood opposite the bar surround by three over stuffed arm chairs and a fire place on the wall. A queen sized bed sat opposite the door.
"Thank you put it on my card." Kedian said as he handed her his black card. It had clearly been a dismissal. But of course she once again misinterpreted the meaning. 'Bleach has gone to her brain.' Senrous usually didn't comment on the women Kendrelous seduced if he didn't mind their personality. He certainly had a preference for intelligent women. 'So that's a no to fucking her once a week?' Kendrelous clarified.
"Would you like me to send a couple of girls and a bar tender? I can be back and waitress for you if you like." She was so hoping for a nice tip. Or maybe she was hoping that he would try to seduce her again. She smiled at him and Kendrelous knew which it was.
"Only if I can chain you to my bed later." He winked. "Oh and don't be offended if Senrous doesn't try to talk to you. He just isn't that interested." She smiled at him.
"Ooh. Kinky. Sounds fun. I'll be sure to scream your name." Time to chase her off. Her voice had become irritating and her scent repulsive. She wore some kind of heavy perfume that burned his nose. But maybe he would be able to start her training now.
"Not my name. But you can call me Master. Don't worry. I go easy during the training." He licked his lips. "Now be a good girl and leave. I need to talk to the alpha in private." She finally got the hint and left the room.
"Kendrelous....We are fucked and not in a good way." Kedian growled when she closed the door behind her. "I just saw....I don't know what I saw. A ghost? An impossibility? I don't know." He dropped his massive frame into the nearest arm chair and ran his hand through his thick black hair.
"Whoa whoa whoa. Slow down. I'm lost. What are you talking about?" Kendrelous waved his hands in front of him trying to get Kedian to explain what was going on. He knew kedian hadn't slept the night before and that he was under alot of stress to bring this whole thing to an end. Maybe Kedian just needed a good night's sleep.
"I saw him, Kendrelous! He just walked right into the bar! When I went to follow him he vanished into thin air!" Kedian was on his feet now.
"Who? Kedian you need to explain better than that. No. You know what you need? A go-"
"It's not possible! He fell! We both saw him fall!" Kendrelous froze. The amused smile stuck on his face. But his grey eyes had lost all light at the mention of that night so long ago.
"Not possible." He said. Senral's torture and the stress of the case had finally caused Kedian to crack. How was he going to explain this to Keskian? "Maybe you need a stay in the psych ward of the pack hospital. " He half joked. "And a week off. Don't worry. Keskian and I will take care of the pack till you get back. I'm sur-"
"I'm not going crazy, Kendrelous! I saw him there! But there is no way! He's dead!" Kedian half snarled, getting more agitatedas they talked. Clearly this conversation was not going the way he'd first thought it would. Kendrelous didn't want to think of that night almost thirteen years ago.
"Okay, Kedian, you're stressed. And what's going on with your mate... believe me we all understand. You're seeing things that aren't there. Just go home. Get some rest. The shadows will be gone in the morning." Kendrelous spoke gently. He was afraid of setting off Kedians' temper. It wasn't that he didn't believe Kedian but rather that he couldn't believe him or Kendrelous would go mad himself. The use of the childhood phrase caused Kedian to glare at him. It was what Kendrelous' mother used to say late at night after her children had nightmares. In those days all three of them had been alive. A sharp pain pierced his heart. He turned to the bar and went to get a bottle of tequila from the shelf.
"Kendrelous I understand why you don't want this to be true. Trust me I wish I was hallucinating. I really do. I don't want this anymore than you do. Like it or not we killed him. Or so we thought. Now he's come back. The strange thing is that he had no scent. None at all. I don't understand. How is that even possible? How can someone have no scent?" His tone was understanding at first but ended on an aggressive, animalistic snarle. He was pacing maniacal around the room.
"It happens when they're not actually there, kedian." Kendrelous was starting to get angry now. He didn't want to think about the fact that Kedian might be right. He refused to entertain the idea at all.
"Who's not there?" Keskian asked as he interrupted their conversation. The blonde waitress entered as well.
"Kedian's lost his fucking mind. I say it's stress and lack of proper sleep." Kendrelous said and raised the bottle to his lips.
"Here's your card sir. Are you sure you don't need me?" She asked when she saw Kedian chugging the whole bottle of tequila.
"Later." Kedian growled as he glared at Kendrelous. Keskian was shaking his head resigned to the nightmare that was a drunk Kendrelous. She turned and left with the fakest smile Kendrelous had ever seen. All thoughts of getting anyone to share his bed tonight had gone the same way his childhood dream of being a donkey farmer had. Up in smoke.
