As the alarm blared the guild seemed to be set into a panicked state as everyone began rushing around.
"What the fuck is that alarm?" Asked a confused Vance.
"It means the city is under attack!" Exclaimed Sarah.
"Under attack from what?"
"I don't know!"
"Guess I'll go check it out. Girls, for the moment, stay here and protect Sarah."
"Now let's see what all the panic is about."
Vance then used wind magic to lift himself into the air and see what was going on. A short distance from the city Vance saw a large army of humans and chained up monsters marching towards him.
"Holy shit. Why the fuck are humans attacking here? And why do they have monsters. Man the longer I live in this world the more I think that the protagonists halo is real because this shit is so cliché. What's next? Me beating up an army with a brick? A nation full of arrogant twats that refuse to see that I'm more powerful than them because I'm not a noble? Oh, that might actually happen. Sad."
Vance then flew back down and informed the girls of what he saw.
"Should we go let John and Lucy know and see if they need help? I'll just consider this combat training part two if they do."
"Vance, Hope and I would greatly appreciate you offering help to our parents."
"Alright then. No time to walk so I'll just teleport us to the throne room."
Saying this Vance used Space Magic to teleport them to the throne room. Once they appeared there, they saw the King and Queen, as well as some other people, and they were having a meeting.
"Yo John and Lucy, are we interrupting something?" Vance said as he waved and walked forward.
"Vance? Weren't you all in the Forest of Lost Souls? The guards didn't even report that you had come back."
"Ah that's because we teleported."
"Teleported? Ah? Well never mind. So what have you come for?"
"Well I saw that there was an army marching over and I figured that I should see if you guys needed any help."
"Your Majesty, who is this snot nosed punk that dares to speak so casually! I will have him brought to the dungeons and beaten immediately."
"You really don't pay much attention do you? I teleported here? I called them they responded? I have their daughters right here beside me? Are you stupid? Putting aside whether or not you'd be able to bring me to and keep me in the dungeon, you really seem like you ignored everything up to this point, huh?"
For a short few seconds the tension between Vance and the unknown man was almost tangible.
