~Babil, 6115 a.d. Day 173~
On the third floor of Babil.
Lied and Desmond had managed to descend the tower at a relatively fast rate because Lied had managed to find the path with his spell. However, when the sun rose on the 173rd day of year 6115, the sixth day of Lied's stay at Babil, his spell ceased to work. Instead of continuing on their path, both Lied and Desmond stopped to rest.
They both ate some rations. Lied extended a hand to receive the food, but his fingers passed right through it.
"What happened?" Desmond asked.
Lied stared at his left hand. It was beginning to get translucent. He waved it around, still able to move it. However, there was something similar to a numbing feeling in his hand as he was unable to feel anything at all. Lied sighed, adjusting himself to be near a window. He stuck his hand in the sunlight where it slowly regained heat.
"It's a curse of mine," Lied explained. "If I use too much magic, this happens."
