Both Slyk and Letha made it past the walls humans had built. Slyk managed to pull in the particles around them to cast an invisibility spell. The ability to control those particles came naturally to the Nine-tailed Fox, almost like breathing and walking.
Beyond the wall, laid a decrepit town.
The houses were made of wood and straw and stone. It was dirty, and there was not much life other than humans. With a single glance, Slyk could see several Spirits of Plague and Spirits of Death roaming the town.
Letha herself did not seem bothered in the slightest. Instead, she told Slyk, "This place changed a lot since I last came here."
Letha ran toward the houses, the invisibility spell breaking when she did. Slyk dashed after her, easily able to keep up. However, when Slyk ran, there was something different in the way it moved. It was bigger and more mature, it was getting faster.
