Desmond finished packing up and took a step back, his backpack lay on his bed. He let out a sigh, rubbing the back of his head as he rethought his decisions.
"What's wrong?" His wife, Lazli asked, standing at the doorway. "I know you want to help Lied, so what are you worrying about?"
"It's just that..." Desmond told her, hesitating. "It's... I just... I know what he intends to do. Depending on how things go, I might not be able to return home..."
Lazli placed a hand on Desmond's cheek before telling him, "Do what you think is right, okay?"
Desmond nodded and embraced his wife. "Okay."
Desmond picked his backpack up before stepping out. He gave his wife a goodbye kiss and his son one more hug. Before he left, he told Kalego, "Stay out of trouble, okay? Daddy's gonna be out for a while."
Kalego nodded with teary eyes before Desmond left his home.
