Lily hung onto Akuji's back helplessly.
She could not do anything but hang on and wait, watching the scenery slowly change over time. She could feel each step and every breath by the man carrying her. He had his hat on her head, something about shading her from the sun. Lily did not oppose it, she just went with it.
As they made their way towards the Capital, Akuji had constantly reminded Lily to never stray too far away from him. Luckily for Lily, she could not run away even if she wanted to.
After half a day of walking, Akuji stopped. They were still along the same road, but they definitely made progress.
Akuji set Lily down before sitting on his bag, sweating profusely. He opened his bottle and drank some water before offering some to Lily. Lily drank from it slowly, still wary of the man in front of her.
"Well, if you don't like talking, can you write?" Akuji asked Lily.
"Write," Lily said, nodding her head.
