Lily woke up feeling warm.
She had been through so much in less than a day that she could barely register the information. All she knew was that she was about to be killed when a traveller swooped in to save her.
The man had introduced himself as Akuji, but Lily knew nothing else about him.
She opened her eyes. She had been lying down, covered with a blanket. She stared directly at a fire. Startled, she tried to shuffle back.
She could not move her ankle, so she just pushed whatever else she could move of her legs. She felt flaring pain along her left arm and head.
She sat up and looked around warily.
Akuji was nearby.
He wore a tunic with long pants and boots. His cloak was on the ground, along with the headpiece he was wearing. The headpiece looked like a hat of sorts, but Lily had no idea what it was.
He turned his head to look at Lily.
He had blonde hair and a short beard. His eyes were like the colour of rubies as he stared directly at her.
