Lied could tell Letha was afraid. He had seen that look before. From the people around him, from looking into a mirror.
Fear was nothing new, everyone has felt fear before. People feared many things. From the most minor of insecurities they have to the impeding existential dread of the end of humanity. Lied was most definitely afraid of many things, and remembered days where he would roll up and shiver in fear.
However, he never would have expected Letha to be afraid.
"You're afraid of being alone?" Lied asked her.
Letha looked away before she kicked another rock. She talked as she did what she did. "Being alone is scary. No one around me… no one there… I turn around and no one is there."
Letha then turned around, her usual cheerful and almost ignorant look on her face. She smiled and gestured to Koda, who was floating around. "That's why Koda is my best friend!"
