The next morning-
"My device is almost ready. I will reveal this advanced piece of junk at the competition. This will alter the reality of the world as we know it. Also I haven't gotten any help with this project, we'll see if Arnold can even keep up." Jeremiah thinks to himself.
Jeremiah walks out of his bedroom and ignores comadust who's covered by a blanket, "I'll just talk to him later." Jeremiah says to himself.
Jeremiah heads downstairs for breakfast.
"Where is your brother at?" Asks Jeremiah's mother.
"I'm not sure but he's probably just in his room." Jeremiah answers.
"Hm, he may be, I'll wait for him for another 10 minutes and then after that, we will call him out of his room, maybe he's just getting dressed or sleeping." Jeremiah's mother said.
"Ok, mom, I'm heading out." Says Jeremiah.
"Hmm, no. It better be to school." Jeremiah's mother demanded.
"Yes, it's to school, I'm meeting someone there." Jeremiah said to his mother.
"Ugh fine I'll let you go to school on your own but I've already told the teacher to call me if you're not there after 30 minutes of class." Jeremiah's mother said.
"Ok, I was already going to school today." Jeremiah said.
Jeremiah leaves out and decided to actually go to school. He soon arrives at school.
"Jeremiah I need to see you in my office." Asserts the school principal.
The two of them quickly heads into the principals office.
"Sure, you wanted to speak to me?" Jeremiah replied.
"I understand that you don't really need to attend high school, but for the sake of your parents, you attend school some of the time. You have multiple BA's and you're still earning more, you're highly achieved at such a young age and you're more qualified to teach than any of the teachers in this high school. I am offering you a job to teach the robotics and engineering class for the seniors." Said the principal.
"What? Isn't that mr. stellar's job?" Jeremiah asks.
"No it isn't, mr. stellar teaches robotics and engineering for the freshmen and sophomores, you are more than qualified, since we will split the grades up, you will teach the juniors and seniors. Mr. stellar has too many students for just one teacher. How about it?" Asks the principal.
"Hmm, is the pay pretty good? I mean it all depends on the pay." Answers Jeremiah.
"The pay is more than well for someone your age and mediocre for someone of your qualifications however you are very new and your pay will only increase. Since you have no experience and you've never taught a class before, this is a very important opportunity for you, though you being you, you will see a lot more opportunity." Says the principal.
"Don't flatter me." Jeremiah says as he snickers.
"I do mean it, your degrees are many and your education and GPA are outstanding. I just wonder if Mr. Lynn would take some time to consider it?" The principal says.
"Eh, I'll think about it. Though, where is Mr. Weiss?"
"Mr. Weiss didn't come here today. He left us his number to give directly to you and that was all he said." The principal explained.
"Ok, if that's all, I'll be heading out." Jeremiah said.
"You're leaving already? but it's only 9am." The principal pauses and then continues. "well if you must, then have a good rest of your day, but do consider the job." Said the principal.
Jeremiah leaves out and catches the train. He heads to his favorite place the 'DCA'.
Jeremiah approaches Arnold.
"What are you doing here? You're never in school and your parents don't complain about you missing school?" Said Jeremiah.
"They do, well some times, but I'm just not interested in school. Hey since the competition is in a couple of days, do you wanna hear my invention?" Asks Arnold.
"Hmm, sure what are you making?" Jeremiah says.
"If you tell me yours first, then I'll tell you mine." Says Arnold.
"No, nice try." Says Jeremiah.
"Ok ok, you got me. I've been working on super powers, well at least my device can give you super powers." Says Arnold.
"Yeah that's nice." Says Jeremiah unenthusiastically.
"No, it is great. It's a very thin layer of super indestructible metals, yes that's right I've said metals, plural, meaning more than one. This is the real deal." Says Arnold.
"Why did you choose that? What is it for?" Jeremiah asks.
"Well I've always wanted to have super powers myself, I know, it makes me sound lame but these pieces actually don't replace your whole limb, I mean they can if you'd like. What they will do is, go surgically into your body, they are then connected to the joint. If you get it attached to your knee joint, you will have super speed. One day soon, you can see what I have in store for the vocal box and what that can do." Says Arnold optimistically.
"Are you almost finished in the process of making this?" Asks Jeremiah.
"Yep, I sure am. So far I've completed making three of them, I'm still working on the vocal cord piece. After the competition we can go over how I actually made these devices if you'd like, but what are you working on?" Asks Arnold.
"I've decided to work on a time travel device or time machine if you will." Jeremiah says.
"You don't have to speak so dramatically with me, you sound extremely sophisticated." Arnold says humorously.
"What? That's just how I speak. Hahahaha." Jeremiah says.
"No way." Arnold says with a slight smile.
"Im pretty sure I've almost cracked it but I do have to test it out. If you'd like a quick summary on how I've built this one device using a wrist watch or wrist watches, I'll explain it." Jeremiah says.
"Yes, sure, I'm curious." Arnold says.
"Ok, so, I've taken a series of 38 wrist watches and completely taken them apart, and only using certain pieces From each of them. When I've taken them apart, I made sure to leave a specific time of day on each of them, that is only when I have stopped it's time. The day and hour and minute in which I set the stopped time to, is the time it travels to." Jeremiah explains.
"Huh? What?" Arnold says in confusion.
"I'll explain further, say if I stop the clock at 9:27 I'll punch in whatever year I want and then I'll travel to September 27th of that year." Jeremiah explains it this way to make it simple for Arnold to understand.
"Oh ok, I get it, that's actually tight." Says Arnold, not wanting to admit Jeremiah's invention is better than his own.
"I will be testing these out this afternoon, so far I can only travel to 38 different times but I can add in whatever day with just a new watch. Since I can only set one exact day and month for one watch, I will keep adding new watches." Jeremiah pauses and looks at the camera.
"Will you test it out with me?." Asks Jeremiah as he turns to look at you and breaks the fourth wall for the second time.
