Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Exploration of the Market

Alex and Christopher walked down the streets of the Market looking at the multiple stalls that were available. So far from what Alex has seen were things such as armor, food, potions, weapons, kid toys, clothing, and rare items.

"This market is very amazing!" Alex shouted out in excitement.

"Quite so, Fourth Prince," Christopher replied with a smile. They walked for a bit longer but something soon caught Alex's eye. It was a back and green seed with two horns that made a wide V on it. About the size of a mango seed. It also had something written on it but it was something that Alex couldn't read. But for some reason, it resonated with Alex's spirit so he quickly went up to the owner of the stall,

"Excuse me, how much for this seed?" Alex asked.

"Oh, that little thing. For you, Fourth Prince, it is free." The owner replied and handed it to Alex while smiling. Alex took the item from the owner and looked at Christopher to signal him to give the owner some compensation for the statue. Alex walked off to look at other stalls while Christopher gave the owner a gold coin which the owner accepted with gratitude. Alex soon stopped by a blacksmith shop and began to explore the various weapons that were displayed.

"From the stories I've heard by Christopher, Mom should be able to train me in various weapons. Christopher is also a master in sword art so he can probably train me while mom is busy. It would be best to get a trainer in hand-to-hand combat also. I have only one week left to hone my skills." Alex thought to himself.

"Hello there, Fourth Prince." The blacksmith bowed while greeting Alex. "Is there anything in particular that you are looking for today?" The blacksmith asked.

"I'm here to ask if you could make something for me," Alex replied. The blacksmith was caught off guard due to the rumors of how the Fourth Prince was the trash of the Royal family. The Prince did nothing but stay in the palace and not interact with anyone except for two people. Now this prince was inside his weapon shop let alone asking him to make something too. Christopher arrived at the moment when Alex asked for something to be made and it piqued his interest also. When the blacksmith noticed Christopher's presence, the Blacksmith instantly knew who he was and gave Christopher a look of help. Christopher just nodded his head and the blacksmith agreed.

"Whatever it is, my crew and I will do our best to make it." The Blacksmith said with his chest puffed out. Alex soon explained that he needed ten daggers that formed a plus sign and a ring at the bottom of the handle. He even outlined the dagger too just so that the Blacksmith wouldn't have a problem. He also asked for a Guandao similar to the spear weapon Guan Yu used, and the last thing he asked for was a katana then Alex handed the blacksmith a pouch full of coins,

"Just send someone to the palace and inform me when it is done. I would like at least five daggers done by the end of next week if possible. Everything else can be done whenever." Alex stated as he handed over the pouch. The blacksmith bowed deeply before accepting the pouch,

"We will not fail you, Fourth Prince." The blacksmith replied with vigor and Alex just nodded at him before walking out of the store. Alex spent the rest of the day just walking around exploring before heading back to the palace to end the day. Alex decided to work on merging Ki and Chaka so that he could enhance specific techniques or make up for the lack of reserves. This was going to be his goal for the next week and the main technique that he was aiming for was the Flying Raijin. He needed to study seals and Chakra control intensely for the next week and hopefully, he can at least attain five to eight percent of control. Five days passed by quickly and Alex had achieved some of his goals with the seals. He is now proficient with being able to make childlike low-level seals usually made for pranks or storing small items and his Chakra control was now about three percent with 100 Chakra points.

"I believe that within a month my Chakra and Ki control will be able to hit ten percent. My seals will reach at least mid-level so that I would be able to make a rough copy of The Flying Raijin seal." Alex thought to himself. Even though The Flying Raijin Chakra requirement is around Special Jonin that specializes in Genjutsu which is about 1000 points to 1500 points. The reason why it needs a lot of Chakra is that one needed to continuously use about 250 points of Chakra plus the use for other Jutsus. Currently, Alex only had 100 points of Chakra and his Ki points raised to 300 points. He could fuse his Ki and Chakra so he technically had 400 points available. So Alex's level right now is equivalent to a graduated Ninja Academy student and a martial art student that trained for about four months. Even though Alex is still weak, he knew that it was a better start than how Alexander's life had been for the past 10 years or so because of his lack of special veins. There was a knock on his door that interrupted his training and thought process, so Alex got up and went to answer it. When Alex opened up the door he was greeted by Sebastian the butler.

"The tutor has arrived, Fourth Prince," Sebastian stated.

"Thank you for letting me know, Sebastian," Alex answered before turning around to get dressed. Sebastian waited for Alex to finish up so that he could lead Alex to where the tutor was currently at.

"I forgot that my mother told me that she would get a tutor to help me with some of the school's entrance tests. Mother got one of her old party members that have been traveling around the world to come back just for this special occasion. I wonder who she is." Alex said to himself. After Alex was done getting dressed, he walked to the study hall with Sebastian because that was the destination for the session. When Alex walked into the room, there were multiple shelves filled with books to the rim. It looked like a giant personal library. Alex soon saw his tutor, she had long silver hair and her figure would put a lot of models to shame. Her skin was pure with no blemishes and it looked extremely smooth. The other thing that stood out was her pointy ears.

"She's an Elf? From what I remember reading about the history of this kingdom, multiple races live here but Elves did not interact with other races due to multiple incidents. Slavery was a huge part of it, but some Elves were curious about the other races so they would interact only a little bit. I'm guessing this woman is part of those people." Alex thought while making his way to her.

"Ah, so this is Laura's child. How time has gone, but it is fine since I can see you once again." The Elf stated while smiling at Alex.

"It is nice to meet you as well, madam," Alex responded while bowing to her.

"Ah, how rude of me not to introduce myself. This one's name is Eva Blackwater and also a friend of your mother." Eva replied while giving a curtsy greeting to Alex. They both sat down on chairs next to one of the tables in the room and between them sat a tea set.

"So what are you currently having trouble on most?" Eva asked as she began to pour herself some tea.

"Not much really, the only thing that has bothered me is the class levels within the school," Alex replied.

"Well, I'm not going to lie but you humans have a sense of superiority when it comes to being more powerful than another. There is a sentence that you humans use a lot... What was it again?" Eva stated.

"Did you mean that the strong eat the weak or that without power you are just another ant in the colony?" Alex replied. Eva snapped her hands at Alex,

"The first one is commonly known, but the second one is quite new to me. Did you come up with that one?" Eva said to which Alex nodded his head.

"What about the other races? I'm sure that they have the same mindset too." Alex questioned.

"Well yes, they do. Such as Elves are mainly focused on pure elf bloodline and the type of it also. To give an example an elf with a bloodline of Sword arts will be lesser than one with a bloodline of Magi Arts, but an elf with a bloodline of Bow Arts would be higher than both due to our God favoring the bow more than anything else. Now the one thing that is common with the Elves, Beastmen, and Dragonoids is that if they are half-breeds then they are the lowest of the low. No matter what kind of bloodline they have." Eva explained. Alex nodded to her explanation,

"I have heard of your condition from your mother, and I know that you will probably have a tough time at the academy due to it. I know that even if you try very hard the only position awarded would be a scholar or a seat in the Royal Court. That depends on your academic abilities too, so don't think that just because you were born into royalty you will be able to get in easily." Eva stated while drinking her tea. Eva began to teach Alex more about things he will have to worry about once he gets into the academy since she has been there a couple of times. After the study session, Alex made his way to the training yard to meet up with Christopher for his daily sword training. Laura was quite surprised when Alex asked her for help in his sword training, but she was also proud that he decided to pick up swordplay. Even if he couldn't activate the sword Qi, he would be able to protect himself if his opponent couldn't also. She asked if Christopher was willing to teach him and Christopher agreed to it but told her that he will be very hard on Alex due to Alex's circumstances. She agreed to the conditions even though it pained her to see her son in pain but it was for the better.

Soon the week passed and the new year at the Academy began. Alex and all of the new entries had to meet at the Colosseum early in the morning around 5 am.

"Jeez, I don't remember the last time I had to wake up this early for anything. Even the school started late on the other side.." Alex said to himself as he yawned. He began to look around to see if he could spot any familiar faces from his memories. After surveying around, Alex spotted Krista standing next to two older gentlemen with a very strong aura. Many newcomers kept their distance from them due to the suffocating atmosphere.

"Uncle Zeth and Uncle Blaze, do you both have to be here with me? It is quite embarrassing and I won't be able to make any friends if they are all scared away by you guys." Krista pleaded.

"Sorry, young one, but your father has given us an order to protect you until the exam is done." Uncle Zeth responded.

"Plus we have another mission that your father has given us." Uncle Blaze said while giving all the guys the death glare. He looked like a demon to them while Krista had a pondering face trying to figure out what her uncle meant. Time soon passed and all of the instructors began to show up, then the royal court scholars began to appear one by one. Lastly, the king made his appearance with his four wives and the Headmaster. Soon the whole Colosseum was filled up due to the competition that is to follow the entry exam.

"Did you hear that the Fourth Prince is going to take the entry exam today." a citizen stated,

"No way, That prince. I just hope he doesn't sully our King's face and name." another citizen replied. Four horns were blown by some soldiers to signal that the event would begin. The citizens began to cheer loudly as all the students from the second year to the fourth year made their way into the Colosseum. The king soon stood up and raised his hand to silence the crowd. After the crowd went quiet, the Headmaster grabbed a microphone powered by a blue gem.

"Let the entry exam begin!" The Headmaster shouted.
