Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Entry Exam (part 1)

The crowd soon exploded once more in cheers and some new students were eager to show off their strength. If they could get in the eyes of some experts their lives would become wonderful. Who wouldn't be tempted by the life of a noble and be able to have any women you ever dreamt about? One of the instructors made her way down to one of the arenas where the battles would take.

"Oh my, it's instructor Syline!" a citizen shouted.

"She's as beautiful as ever!"

"I heard that she was on par with even the Royal knights!"

"Most of the Instructors are but she is one of the top three."

Instructor Syline held the microphone in her hands and waited for the crowd to quiet down.

"I welcome everyone to our 42nd entry exam! We hope that everyone here will show their worth so that they will represent the glorious Glazric kingdom!" She stated to the crowd and students. "We will now ask the participants to come up to the areas where the other instructors are stationed. So that you can get your number for the exam." She added. Soon all of the participants began to make their way to the areas.

"After everyone gets their numbers, I will announce the rules for this exam," Syline added. They had a box on top of a table that was spitting out a blue gem with a number on it. It would shine with a purple glow as it shot out the gem. Everyone began to walk up and put their hands underneath the box to grab a number, it was soon Alex's turn. All the attention was on him for his popularity was already higher than most there.

"Whoever gets the same number as him, has to be the luckiest person alive." a citizen stated while the people around him began to chuckle due to not wanting to face the wrath of the King's third wife. Laura could hear the bickering of the citizens but she could only keep her cool because today her son will show some strength. Even if he fights with someone who can use QI, they will underestimate him for sure so it will give Alex some face.

"Alexander Ruin! Please make your way up to the arena." Syline shouted so Alex began to make his way to the arena.

"Huh, I never pictured the Fourth Prince would look like that."

"Well, He never really showed his face around town due to you know what."

"I'm not going to lie though. He is quite handsome. I wouldn't mind if he asked me to be his bride." a woman stated.

"No fair, that's what I was thinking too!" another one stated. Many women began to bicker on and about the fourth prince and the other men attending began to get angrier than usual.

"Whoever gets the same number as that prick. Make sure that he never shows his face again!" a male citizen shouted out. Multiple men began to cheer louder after hearing that statement. Alex just shook his head and continued on his way. On the balcony, Laura was proud of her son that he was still keeping his cool and not letting them get to him. Alex reached out and put his hand underneath the magic box spitting out the numbers. The box began to glow purple and soon shot out a blue gem with the number 141. The numbers began to shine brightly and a huge hologram was emitted with the numbers.

"Who has 141?"

"I don't know but I was short by one."

"Dang it!"

"Please make your way back down, Alexander," Syline said to Alex. Alex slowly walked down from the stage. Many people were drawn to his elegant aura. Even though most of the special core people kept their guard up for some odd reason. It almost made them uncomfortable being unguarded against him.

"Don't worry about that veinless brat. All he can do is walk tall. When you demolish him is when the King will give our family the count prestige." an older gentleman spoke to his son. The boy nodded to his father's words. The words that were spatted out by the gentleman were made a little bit louder so that others could hear, so they could also aim for the Fourth Prince. Everyone around began to steel their resolve and will so that they could bring prestige to their family. Even though most of them already heard this from the King the other day when he announced that if they were able to defeat his son their family would be promoted. Most of the commoners were praying that they got the same number as him. The only thing is that Alex has no idea, that the King made this announcement.

"When did that brat get so confident?" Alexis commented,

"Looks like the baby chick decided to take off from the nest," Arianna added. Laura smirked at their comments because she knew why he looked so confident.

"I wonder who his first opponent is going to be?" Samantha asked her mother.

"Don't worry, it will be announced soon after everyone gets their numbers," Arianna replied to her daughter. Another hour passed and everyone soon got their numbers. There were at least 50 people altogether. One of the older instructors came up to the stage.

"Alright, now that everyone has their number we will now announce how the tournament will work," he stated.

"There will be 25 matches in five areas. Each match will be held simultaneously so that the matches go smother. Each participant will be graded by their win and loss ratio so that everyone will still have a chance to be accepted. The final ten will be accepted into the academy as direct students while the rest will have failed this year. Don't worry if you fail because you can still try next year, but remember you can only fail twice before being ineligible for this academy. Now for the ten students that will be accepted your standing within the academy will decide your support. Tenth place through sixth will be rewarded fifty energy pills along with thirty bone-enhancing pills. Fifth place will receive seventy-five energy pills and forty-five bone-enhancing pills. Fourth place will receive eighty-five energy pills, fifty-five bone-enhancing pills, and two Phoenix elixirs. For those who don't know the phoenix elixirs. I will keep it short, they help with bottlenecks that the core fighter can run into. Also not only will it help them a breakthrough, but it can also cleanse the user's body of any impurities within." The instructor stated and let the information sink in before moving on. The pills and elixirs fired up most of the participants which satisfied the instructor.

"Now moving on to Third place. They will be awarded four Phoenix elixirs, a hundred energy pills, and sixty bone-enhancing pills. Also becoming a direct Disciple of Senior Drake. Second place will be awarded five Phoenix elixirs, a hundred and ten energy pills, and sixty-five bone-enhancing pills. Also a direct disciple of senior Wong. First place will be awarded six phoenix Elixirs, a hundred and twenty energy pills, and seventy bone-enhancing pills. Also a direct disciple of senior Syline." The instructor announces to the crowd which riled them up even more along with the competitors.

"What place do you think the Fourth Prince is going to get?" a spectator asked,

"Most likely last place, because he has no fighting force within him." another answered.

"I think that the person who will take first place will be Titus Warmonger." a person stated.

"You can't forget about the young miss of Duke Frost." another added.

"Yeah, but Titus is a shield and sword art user, while Layla is an elemental and bow art user. So she may not be his match, I think the only person who may be a threat is Elaine." One person stated while a few people around nodded their heads in agreement. As the crowd began to discuss among themselves, the rankings began to shuffle on the hologram-projected screen. Everyone began to quiet down to watch the board. Alex turned his attention also to see who would be his first opponent. After a minute of /shuffling the stages were set. Alex's first opponent was a guy named Dave. Alex looked around to see who it was. A blonde-haired kid shouted out in excitement, while everyone around looked at him with envy. That guy got an easy ticket to the second round. On the other hand, Alex was glad that nobody paid him any attention because once he showed off his skills. It will be harder for him to take advantage.

"This person doesn't seem strong, he will be perfect for me to test my fighting skills with," Alex said to himself. The announcer from before took the stage once again.

"I will now announce the first five matches. In the first block will be Titus Warmonger versus Leon Firemane. The second block will be Layla Frost versus Lilly Valentine. The third block will be Elaine Goldsmith versus Fredwich Rockson. The fourth Block will be Grayson Hillman versus Dichland Burg. The fifth block will be Simon Silver versus Sully Dickson. The first five matches will begin in five minutes. Please get ready." the announcer shouted and all the contestants began to make their preparations. Each person grabbed their respective weapons. Titus grabbed a short sword and a Kite shield. Leon grabbed a pair of bronze gloves and boots. Both of them made their way to Arena One. Layla grabbed a bow and quivered full of arrows. Lily grabbed a double-sided battle-ax. Both of the girls made their way to Area Two. Elaine grabbed two scimitars while Fredwich grabbed a spear. They both headed to Arena Three. Greyson grabbed two daggers while Dichland grabbed two long blunt weapons. They both made their way to Arena four. For the last two, Simon grabbed a mace and Sully grabbed a bow and quivered. They made their way to the last arena. All of the participants were standing in their respective areas and facing one another.

"When the bell goes off that will be the signal to begin your match!" The announcer shouted out. The audience didn't expect that the signal would be an aura cannon. So when it went off the aura force sent out an intense pressure and made the atmosphere very heavy. Most of the people couldn't breathe due to the suffocating air. Some experts within the crowd began to circulate their Qi from their veins to disperse the suffocating air. The audience began to thank the experts but they were also keeping an eye out to check if they weren't the only ones affected. Cause it would hurt their pride if someone they knew saw their pathetic state. Everyone began to laugh and joke around with their neighbors. But many people began to notice that their useless fourth prince wasn't affected by the Aura Cannon at all. He looked like he went on a casual stroll with a light breeze.

"Why is the Fourth Prince not affected? I'm twice his size and can give even a body-strengthening practitioner at stage two trouble." A giant muscular person spouted.

"The Aura Cannon is at least mid-third stage of Body Strengthening realm." One of the instructors thought to himself while he examined the Fourth Prince.

"What do you think of the Fourth Prince, Instructor Jun?" a woman with a seductive voice and succubus figure asked an old man with a bulky build, long white hair, and a well-maintained beard.

"Honestly Instructor Sue, he did surprise me by withstanding the Aura Cannon. I think that he may be hiding his strength. A dark horse may appear this generation." Instructor Jun replied while Instructor Sue nodded in agreement.

"Ha! Your eyes must be aging like spoiled milk. This kid won't make it out of the second round!" a rounder old man with a bald head and jiggly chin shouted.

"Even if I went blind, at least I know not to trust Instructor Tien. Because only seeing down one well one cannot see anywhere else." Jun stated.

"What do you mean by that?" Sue asked.

"It means that even Blind men know not to be narrow-minded," Jun replied to which Tien frowned upon hearing.

"Fine then! How about we make a little wager?" Tien asked Jun.

"Oh! What kind of wager are we talking about?"

"If that runt makes it passes the second round, I'll give you my 3rd grade Earth stone," Tien answered which shocked the other instructors around them.

"I'll match with a 4th Grade Storm stone. But what will you wager if he makes it to the finals?" Jun asked.

"A year of my Salary and a 5th-grade Flame Stone." Tien retorted.

"A 5th-grade flame stone?" an instructor asked in disbelief.

"One of those stones costs at least 250 gold coins, we only make 10 gold coins a month. That is only when we reach the 8th stage of the Spirit Realm. Other than that we lowly instructor makes 5 gold coins." an instructor said while others around nodded to the statement.

"Intriguing, guess I'll put my salary on the line as well. Along with my sword." Jun replied.

"What! You're putting that sword on the line?" Sue asked in distress.

"Well, Instructor Tien is putting up a valuable item, so I must match him. I will lose face if I don't do this." Jun replied.

"I can't believe that Instructor Jun is putting his sword on the line." one of the instructors stated.

"I can't believe that he is going to let Tien take Silver Wing." another stated.

"The sword that split the Lapiz sea for our troops to storm the battlefield to support our King?" Another asked and was answered by the others when they nodded their heads. Tien began to laugh hysterically while his chin began to jiggle.

"Good, good. This is how we make things interesting." Tien replied as they all began to sincerely watch the events unfold.
