Both kids came into the living room. They were intended to watch a movie over pizza. James' concern for Lisa won and both were gathering the party stuff. The pizza boy was to deliver the pizza. Soon they turned on the TV and what they saw shook them the most. The news said there was a fire outbreak in the office of John. It said that all the confidential and important stuff in the office has burnt down and nothing on the name of record has been left behind. Fire wrapped the technical area equally and has burnt down the storage too. Kids were shivering as they thought that their father has become the victim of the fire. Lisa rushed inside and brought her phone out. She was calling her mother but she could not. Of course, the death of john would not have affected Ellen in any way.
The phone assistant directed her to use the voice mail and she hurried to say that
"Mom, please come home, we are very anxious, Dad died." Ellen was at a place where there was no connectivity and there was no chance that she could get across the recent news of the world. Place here was being purchased by the people she had been working with and their security demanded that they must keep the surveillance under their control so that their security would not be undermined. She was in Hawaii and at the place where a bird could not cross them if they did not want to.
There was a conference room and people were sitting around the table. Ellen was also seated there. One of the people asked Ellen
"How come you cannot persuade mayor? We thought that you are our most eligible legal practitioner."
Ellen did not seem disturbed by the shower of doubts over her skills. She was always doubted but still, people managed to challenge her every time by putting her on different tasks. She had a history of achievements in the field of law, whether it was about proving an illegal claim in the court, or legal business matter, she had always served this enterprise whose name she was too afraid to be called out loud.
"It's too early to say that I failed, the mayor has taken the matter of land of his a little personal and he needs to process this big blunder he has made by secretly supporting his son." She said
One of the guys said:
"Every father takes care of his son but the mayor cannot block your way based on past conflict."
Ellen said:
"I do not think so that he has taken grievance over the matter of land his son, I believe there's more to the story he's been hiding from us"
Another person asked:
"What could that be?"
Ellen replied assertively:
"I think that mayor has done something wrong and he wants to hide it in a way that nobody could trail back, he's done such illegal thing that cannot be covered under legal."
All the attention was diverted to Ellen. She liked all this attention. It is good to know that you are an important person; that you are in demand and people seek your friendship to get their matters straight.
" I assure you that I will make it my foremost task to bring heinous acts of Stephen in front of you all so that we can take him to the ground this time." She took a brief pause and before that anybody could speak, she said again:
"I want you to keep everything professional and let the person play on the ground as she or he likes to play, otherwise it would be difficult to get to the fruit in the end."
Everybody smiled at her saying the "fruit" thing. They were sure that Ellen is taking down Stephen this time and she would grow strong with time. She was strong on her professional grounds indeed but her family was in desperate need of getting her attention. They were kids. They wanted to be held in their arms. James had an anxiety attack. He was losing himself. His eyes turned up and his body was in constant convulsions and the seizure had taken control of his body. Lisa forgot everything and she called 911. An ambulance was on its way for James. Meanwhile, Lisa could not think of anything mature at this moment. She, along with the help of her maid put James over the couch. The maid was holding his hands tightly so that he would not scratch his sensitive body parts. Lisa went inside her room. Turned on her laptop and tried to get connected with the boys she was on the call before all this drama happened. She wanted to apologize for breaking their heart. She thought she had been facing karma.
