"ARINESE PREPARE FOR COMBAT!!"
Grey heard a human commander calling for the Arinese forces to prepare for war, it seemed the tier 4 spells were not there just as a show of power and revenge from Alexandria's side.
It seemed that Alexandria had thought the situation in deeper way. Commander Wells had decided to use the explosions as a smoke screen to launch a preemptive attack on the walls.
It looks as if that Arin had received certain intelligence that prompted Alexandria to have the walls secretly attacked in a big smoke screen created by devastating spells.
'It seems they were attacking the [Explosive Flux Cannons], but I am inclined to believe that they were not just attacking regular cannons.'
Grey had a thoughtful look on his face as he looked around.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Team 2, get ready!"
"Yes Mam!"
"Team Halifax, time for battle!"
"Yes Sir!"
Even in the chaos that was happening due the continuous explosions as the wall was attacked by a secret force, the Arinese were already moving in high speed charging under the cover of smoke.
At this point of the charge, the Arinese would be under heavy bombardment of the [Explosive Flux Cannons] but that was not happening.
It seemed as if the Ruhenese that were responsible for the cannons were not getting to do their work in piece as they were under assault.
"Commander Wells, a masterstroke. Using your enmity with Commander Wright to launch an attack on their new attack type artifacts."
Major Reynold Benediction commented with a smile on his face, he was the one that had launch the tier 4 spell, [Life Drain Realm Impact].
A spell that as is name suggested, it drained the life essence from living creatures and killing them.
Most people believed that people who used Life Special Affinity could not use attacks, but that was just myth, as people who could control life essence, they were a bane for all things with life essence.
In the same way that they could transfer life essence to living creatures, they could at the same time pull it out, leaving corpses that were looked mummified.
"The Ruhenese will be releasing their tier 4 mages. I don't care how you spread yourselves, just be careful. If they were chosen by Ken Wright then you can expect that they are elite."
Alexandria turned to look at her tier 4 mages, not commenting on Reynold's boot licking.
The seven royals were all different types of mages, including life and death special affinity mages thus they would be fine, honestly she did not care much for them.
"Major Benediction I would prefer you to support the three commanders, if you four work together, I can expect that you will roll through the enemy tier 4 mages."
"I understand the order. What about you Commander?"
"I have an old score to settle, but not now. Move out!"
After receiving their orders, the tier 4 mages went to action.
The royals split up immediately and went in different direction whilst the trump card legions commanders and Reynold moved together.
As Grey was moving at high speed with Team 2 charging at high speed, his body started to tremble again, this time it was much worse than the time he experienced Prince Alexander's Darkness mana.
Grey looked around with difficulty to find everyone from Team 2, Team Halifax and most people around him were experiencing this subconscious response.
Grey struggled to crane his head to look overhead, what he saw shocked him.
'…A dragon? …Made out of shadows? …There is a woman on top of it…'
The creature that Grey and many others were seeing was what Grey would call a dragon of western origin, but this dragon had six wings on its giant back.
The creature was 40 metres in length, and completely made out of shadows and black fog.
However that did not mean the creature was not solid, because Grey saw an person standing on top of its head like some immortal.
ROARRRRR! ROARRRR! ROARR
It did not take long form the draconic creature to pass over head, but did so leaving some roars that did nothing but make people tremble some more.
"I am tired of this war!"
William complained with his knees on the ground and some tears in his eyes.
The fighting had not started and he was already put in this state, how could he take the stress.
"How do you do it Grey? You were scared like the rest of us but I have not seen an indication of a mental break down from you even under such stressful situations."
Grey looked at William with a calm face even though some of his body parts were still trembling, Grey said nothing to him, but his face said it all.
'So this is how death affinity magic works when it summons the dead, it summons the shadow of the dead creature back to the world of the living.'
"Rest for 10 seconds."
Qila ordered her team, Team Halifax did the same.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"AGHH!!"
"KILL THESE MURDERS!"
Grey looked all around him, he could hear shouts, explosions, death and then some more.
Grey used the 10 seconds to take in the world around him.
'Battle has a charm that I cannot help but to like.'
"Move out!"
The teams moved in high running speed for a few seconds.
"Contact in 10!"
Lt John Ward who was in front with Ilse and Kohler shouted to warn the team members.
"Type?!"
"Regular Troops!"
"Don't waste your mana when killing!"
"Yes Mam!"
Their job was to fight other mages, killing regular humans was easy if a mage was properly experienced.
It has happened many times where inexperienced new mages were killed by being focus fired by arrows fired by regular humans, however not this time, these were experienced mage veterans.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
That was the sound of the front soldiers from the two sides colliding, whether it was magic vs magic or steel vs steel, the second siege of Edward's Crevasse had started.
"Focus on the 1 o'clock direction!"
As Qila's voice sounded, the members rained death on those particular directions.
"Barriers!"
Giant walls were summoned in front of the team members, courtesy of Lt Halifax, like John, he focused on defensive magic.
Immediately after that the walls were pounded by spells as if the this was expected.
"We have company! Team of eight members!"
"Get rid of them!"
The two mage teams engaged in full battle in a larger battlefield that stretched for kilometres.
