The potion that Grey had received from Captain Hans Ignocia was called the [Rest Time Reduction] potion.
When mages use magic crystals during meditation there is a time that is required by the body to rest.
The rest time allows the magic that has been accumulated from the magic crystal to be incorporated into the Magic Source. The rest time is usually similar to mages in the same magic tier.
The rest time can be considered to be an inefficiency in the meditation process as time is wasted that could be better be used for meditation and allow for faster climbing of the magic tiers.
However there is a way for this rest time to be reduced to the bare minimum, and allow a person to accumulate magic more frequently.
This would in turn allow the person to progress faster, this usually seen in the very rich and influential people who use these methods for their most talented children.
However the potion is used when there is a supply of the right magic crystals, that is because most people never get to use magic crystals due to their rarity.
Grey had guessed that he would reach tier 2 when he achieved the age of 16 years.
This however was not the norm for people who use magic crystals for magic accumulation. These people are supposed to reach tier 2 when they are around 15.5 years of age.
However since Grey had wasted time during the research for his revolutionary magic language back then in the academy, he would have reached tier 2 when he became 16 years of age.
The potion had just brought him back to the timeline where the rest of his peers are.

Grey left the tent where Captain Hans Ignocia was located, as he was leaving he nodded towards a male and a female who were talking to each other.
"How quickly they grow up."
Joana commented as she saw Grey leave the tent.
"That is true, I cannot wait for the war to end, so we can make our own."
Michael shamelessly commented, however he did not gain the blush he was looking for from Joana, if fact it seemed she liked the idea very much.
Grey had met these two individuals back then when Captain Hans had finished interrogating Grey, apparently these two knew Captain Hans on a personal level.
The three, Michael, Joana and Finn, were surprised when they had seen a tier 1 recruit leaving the Captain's tent, it had been Finn who had recognised his former student.
They had talked about the past and other things that had happened to them after they took Grey to the academy.
Grey had been very surprised to know that Michael and Joana had been there when the conflict started and they had been fighting for 5 years now.
After greeting those two, Grey continued towards the camp site of his team.
'It still feels out of place. It should take an extra two months until I get used to this new arm.'
Grey internally thought to himself as he shook his left arm that Francesca had previously destroyed for her pleasure.
Grey walked for ten minutes in the big FOB to reach the camp site of Team 6, well, the new Team 2.
"Ah, recruit Grey. You are back?"
"Yes mam."
Grey saluted to his new commanding officer, the fact that she was much shorter than him made the view almost comical.
The 1.58 metre 1st Lieutenant and leader of the previous team 9 was the new leader of this new Team 2.
This team and another one like it were created from the remnants of the mages that Captain Hadley April was in charge of when the [Battle Of The Black Tomb] was happening.
Team 2 was created from the remnants of the old team 6, team 9 and three other teams that were destroyed in the [Battle Of The Black Tomb].
"Are you not going to tell me what the commander wants from you recruit?"
"No mam."
"Straight as always, I like that about you Grey."
Qila commented as she adjusted her hair to be behind her ear.
Qila was just messing with Grey, she too understood military regulation very well, she could not ask about Grey's conversation with Hans.
The fact that Grey was summoned by Captain Ignocia was only know by her in the team.
Tt was obvious to see that the Qila liked Grey.
"Is there anything you want mam?"
"It won't be long until you and the other recruits reach tier 2, just stay alive until then."
The statement had a lot of implied meanings attached to it.
"I understand mam."
'Maybe I can deal with this virgin body that keep screaming at me to have sex. But it cannot be done in an active battle situation.'
Grey understood Qila meanings very well.
Grey might not have dated many women during his time on Earth, but he did have many sexual relations with much more women than the average man would in his entire life.
As stated before, in his previous life as Fredrich, Grey had used a lot of escorts to satisfy his sex drive, thus it can be said he was experienced in the tells of a woman.
Grey saluted to Qila as he went to his tent to study and meditate.
"Good luck with your meditation, you are going to need it."
"Huh?"
1st Lt Qila Stein just left him with that question in his mind as he went towards his tent.
As he travelled there, Grey saw the spiritual sisters, Sharon and Ilse, who were having a spar a small distance away from the camp.
It was not a magic spar, but a physical battle type spar, it seemed they were more matched in that category.
However Sharon had a slight edge with her longer limbs with her 1.71 metre height when compared to Ilse's 1.65 metre height.
Grey also saw Silica Porter and Connor Lindberg who seemed to be having a very serious conversation.
These two were the only ones left from the previous team 9 together with 1st Lt Qila Stein, thus the remnants of the old team 9.
They did not seem to notice Grey as he passed them due to the concentration.
Grey also passed the closed tents of another three team members from three other destroyed teams, they were most likely meditating.
In the distance away from the camp, Grey could also feel June's mana as it raged like an animal looking for attention.
Grey took a longer period as he glanced into the distance where June was located.
'Ever since 1st Lt Percival Elrod died whilst saving her life, her mental state has been chaotic. I am guessing that is the reason why Captain Hadley April did not promote her into First Lieutenant rank, she just not fit to lead.'
Grey internally shrugged, it was not his problem and it did not affect him as 1st Lt Qila Stein was a good leader with stable state of mind.
June was an intelligent mage, she understood her mental state very well, she was trained to deal with matters like grief very well, she just chooses not to deal with it.
This only lets her to stay in pain over the death of Percival Elrod.
It took Grey a few more seconds until he reached his tent.
'Ah… I guess this is what she meant when she said good luck?'
"Grey, your back?! Cassie and I came to visit."
