The forces from Arin managed to regroup before the forces from Ruhen managed to charge at them due to their disorder and general lack of understanding of how they were saved.
There were multiple tier 3 Captains leading their own mage units, under them were the tier 2 1st Lieutenants who were leading separate mage teams.
The were also commanders who were in charge of the regular human forces, they were in more large numbers considering the number of general troops when compared to mages.
Team 6, team 9 and other teams were all standing behind Captain Hadley April in a big assembly.
The assembly done so that the forces could be restructured to allow the forces from Arin to be a better working machine especially since new reinforcements had just arrived.
These reinforcement units had to be able to synergise well with the older teams who had been fighting in position 1-010 before.
Grey could feel the heavy oppressive feeling that this battlefield had when compared to the others he had been too since the time he had been deployed to join this war.
'The number of deaths in this place must have reached the hundreds of thousands for a place to feel like this, or maybe it was that tier 4 Death special affinity royal that is making feel in tune with this much death energy.'
Grey internally commented as he focused on a male that had just stood in front of the other Captains like Captain Hadley April.
'The male in front of the whole assembly is clearly a tier 3 Captain as well, but since he the authority to stand in front of other Captains that means that he is the overall commander of this campaign here in 1-010.'
Grey observed the man so seemed to be in his fifties and seemed to have a lot of experience under his belt.
BOOOM! BOOOM!
The male was about to start to start the address when big explosions that were heard from a big distance that symbolised that the tier 4 mages were still having their fight.
But what made the man stop his address was not the explosions but something else. The big explosions released deep amounts of Death Special affinity mana.
The mana released made everyone in the assembly to feel very uncomfortable, such that they felt that reaper was literally behind their backs. The mages found themselves subconsciously looking behind themselves.
"Haa…"
Grey found himself sighing out loud.
'I might have really underestimated these special affinity holders, I have to start developing spells that specifically target them. This feeling of weakness is not a feeling I want to constantly feel.'
Grey rationally tried to plan ahead after having felt the danger that these people have, he looked at his hands which were trembling as he planned.
Grey never wanted to ever forget that even a talented person like him could die a dog death if he met a very powerful opponent.
"This situation is a first for me in my many years of service to the Mage Army of Arin."
The male in front of the assembly started with those words when the feeling of death had reduced enough to talk.
"Where in a situation where thousands of people were supposed to have been killed but were saved in the very nick of time."
Those words made many of the people to feel very somber, many of them had already accepted that they were about to die at that moment.
As military people and as mages they were very aware that they too would be killed in due time. Thus they felt somber when they thought of supposed deaths by those attacks from Ruhen.
"But I guess that is our fate to keep on living and offer our service to our Arin Kingdom."
'I guess he is trying to bring back the army morale. It will be difficult, in fact it is highly likely that many of these people might retire from the military when the war gets concluded.'
Grey internally commented.
'I guess no one could blame them, they had practically sacrificed themselves for the kingdom of Arin and faced death in the face.'
"Our reinforcements have also arrived to offer assistance. These young mages might not know me, I guess is not a bad idea to introduce myself."
The male mage took a long look at the reinforcements made out of mostly new recruits.
"I am Captain Hans Ignocia, I am the overall commander of this place."
'Oh… This is the famous Captain Ignocia. It's kind of funny that such a decorated military man was supposed to die in this place. But I guess its good thing that he is the commander, as an experienced commander the chances of him making a mistake that would lead to my death are low.'
"As the military of Arin we had underestimated the artifact called [Explosive Flux Cannon], which obviously led to this situation. The artifact has the ability to fire off attacks with tier 2 combination spell power. They are practically the trump card battalion of Ruhen, but much better since it does not take a long time to manufacture them."
Captain Ignocia took a pause to observe his subordinates, and obviously the most of them had severe faces.
Some of the veterans in this place had seen the power of trump card battalion of Ruhen thus they had reason to feel trepidation.
"The thing that makes the artifact much more useful is that they can be manufactured in large numbers when compared to the battalion, in my estimation, the number of the artifacts that were fired then had reached 300."
The mages in the assembly all had looks of shock, this was because during the battle, the number that they saw in the walls of the fortified position held by Ruhen was only 100.
'That means they kept at least 200 of these artifacts and the people to fire them in reverse, in order to kill every person in one time.'
Grey internally commented as he understood the situation.
"Even as a tier 3 mage, I too would not have survived. At this point in time, I believe military command will bring out our kingdom's trump cards as well if we want to win this war. Because it might seem that our Arin is easy mess with."
The Captain was full of conviction as he said those words.
"We are about to have a final battle with these fellows from Ruhen, and at this time they will not use the artifacts. The royal who saved us, had informed me that after those artifacts were fired, they had to be throw outside the bunker because they too exploded."
'I see, these cannons can only fire one shot with the power of tier 2 combination spell before it destroys its self.'
Grey and the other mages now fully understood what Captain Ignocia meant.
"Now Ruhen might have sacrificed some of their mages and troops, but I believe they still have a sizeable force inside that bunker, thus we can expect a big battle."
Grey felt Alice who was standing besides him flinch, he believed that was subconscious response to the words of Captain Ignocia.
'I don't really blame her, my intuition is screaming that my life will be in danger if I am not careful when the battle starts.'
Grey looked towards where the people from Ruhen were leaving their bunker, all the people had heavy faces and had serious battle intent.
'I don't blame them to have such serious faces, they killed their own people for nothing, they must sure hate that royal.'
