Grey started to feel grim about the situation that he was in.
'It would be good if my subordinate Scarlet Autumn was around, we could team up and easily synergise due to our recognition of our battle methods.'
Grey had been feeling the threat of death all the time he had arrived at position 1-010 and that feeling had been increasing steadily as the start of the battle neared.
'To be able to have some modicum of survival, I would need to constantly use my trump cards, that is not a sustainable method.'
Grey did not want to use his trump cards unless he felt that he was put into a situation where he could not use other methods to survive.
'The only logical thing is to team up with other people since Scarlet Autumn is not around.'
Captain Hans Ignocia talked for a few minutes assigning the positions of the Captains.
"Captain Hadley April, you and your subordinates will be in the Right Wing, there will be four Captains with you on that side."
Captain Hadley April nodded her beautiful head in understanding.
The Right Wing had five Captains in total and Hadley was the only one who had new teams as subordinates who did not have experience in high intensity battles.
Thus she was put on the Right Wing to have a modicum of survival with four Captains with veteran subordinates with her subordinates.
The same could be said for the leader of FOB number 04 who had lead his subordinates to position 1-010 with people from FOB number 03 to act as reinforcement.
But the man was put on the Left Wing with similar Captain composition to the Right Wing.
In the standards of the military, a normal Captain who is not in a leadership position like Captain Hans Ignocia could only lead 100 mages, with a total of 10 teams.
But due to different factors Captains were made to lead 200 mages with a total of 20 teams for this war.
The same could be said for Hadley when she was put in charge of FOB number 03 she was in charge of 200 mages from different military camps, these mages obviously included civilian recruits.
However the initial heavy casualties of the civilian recruits who were being used as cannon fodder and the deaths of other people in the 20 teams.
The teams were missing members, the best teams only had 6 members and the worst teams had 3 members.
These teams who were missing members were not dissolved or had have new members added.
Thus when Captain Hadley April went to the Right Wing, she approximately had 100 mages following her.
Maybe this is what the military wanted, because 86% of the people who were following her had proper military training, whilst 14% were the civilian recruits.
They had saved the military trained members for these types of battle, the civilians were allowed to die for the military trained members in the low priority battles.
The regular troops from FOB number 03 were under the command of an experienced commander.
In this battle Captain Hadley April would not seating and observing from the rear, she would be joining the battle, even her adjutant 1st Lt Narah Simmons was in her battle clothing.
"The 20 teams will be breaking up, the tier 2 mages will be working as single unit, the same will happen for the tier 1 mages."
When they reached the Right Wing, Captain Hadley ordered her teams to break up.
'I knew this would happen, if our team which still has two tier 2 mages was still going to be a single unit, this feeling of threat would not be so heavy.'
Grey internally commented as he observed the situation.
'I now understand why the casualties of the tier 1 mages is so high in this war campaign, fighting with tier 2 mages in the same battlefield is just a risky method.'
Grey turned towards Sharon, Bon and Ilse as he thought about the plight of the tier 1 mages, he only glanced at Grant and Alice.
"I do not feel like I will survive this battle."
The 14 years and 8 months old, 1.75 metres grey haired young man confessed that he would not be able to survive the incoming battle.
The three, Bon, Ilse and Sharon, all nodded their heads in understanding, that was especially so for Bon who had a better intuition when compared to the other three, Grey, Sharon and Ilse.
The four had an understanding, that their chances of survival were very low.
"With that I would like to lead you all and form a single unit."
Grey said with a serious face, the other three all nodded.
"With all of us as a team, I have the confidence to increase our current 10% survival rate to a 70% survival rate."
"What?! Really Grey?!"
Exclaimed Ilse in surprise.
'I thought he would say that he would increase our survival rate to something like 45%.'
Internally thought Ilse with surprise still on her pretty face.
'I guess this is to be expected from a freaky genius like Grey.'
Bon had started to consider Grey a freaky genius, such that even in his thoughts he called him like that.
"Grey what is you plan?"
Sharon asked Grey with some curiosity, the tall pretty girl's face was marred with worry every time she looked at Ilse who was her best friend and spiritual sister.
'Ilse and myself were not best acquaintances with Grey during the academy. I would even say he does not like people with outgoing personalities like Ilse and myself. The fact that he is asking for our help means that he does not really have the confidence to save himself. If the plan can save Ilse and myself, I will follow him.'
Sharon had the worst intuition in the team thus she did not feel what Grey and Bon were feeling.
She understood the survival rate from the history of this war and the numbers of tier 1 mages dying every time.
"The plan is very simple, it involves you all following my every order and I will do everything to try and save our lives."
Grey explanation was very simple without the extra information of how the plan was going to save them.
"Grey I will join you."
"Sharon and myself will join you."
Ilse had better intuition when compared to Sharon thus she felt that it was better to agree and not give Sharon to ask for extra details.
"Grey are we included in your plan?"
Alice calmly asked the question that everyone was not sure of, even June who did not like the civilian recruits was interested.
Grey observed Alice and Grant for a few seconds.
"Are you a tier 1 mage of Team 6?"
Grey gave a question in response.
"Ah? Yes."
Alice was slightly flustered by the question, such that she lost her previous calm, the girl was actually panicking, but tried to look calm.
"You were looking at those three when you were talking, I'd thought that maybe you were only talking about them."
Grant also nodded as he felt the same.
"That was because I have the highest confidence that they will follow my orders 99%, thus they are more important for my plan to work, thus I focused on them."
Grey answered in a straight forward way.
"What?"
Alice was shocked by Grey's response.
"You don't have the confidence that Alice and myself will follow your orders 99% of the time?"
Grant questioned with a calm voice, the fellow's experience in the war had made him more calmer, it was situations where he broke 70% of bones that made him lose his calm.
"I think you make a fair statement, considering that Alice and myself are of Nobility. It is a subconscious habit not wanting to be ordered by a person who is in the same magic tier as us. But I believe it would be harder for us with your peasant status that would subconsciously trigger that habit."
Grey and every person did not say anything.
"Leader Grey, I promise to give my best to deal with these bad habits during the battle, in order to allow your plan to work."
Grant ended his speech at that point, he had also started to call Grey as 'Team Leader'.
"GET READY FOR BATTLE!!"
