The was a momentary lull in the battlefield where the team of three were waiting to see the outcome of the two combination spells that they fired against Grey.
"RETREAT!!!"
The person who shouted was the only male member of the three man team. The fellow had better intuition when compared to his two female teammates. The two female teammates only got to see the fellow retreat at high speed with terror written on his face.
'Huh? Retreat…?'
There was a small amount of time where their brains could not understand what was happening when seeing their male teammate running away.
Even though they did not understand what was happening, they two followed their male team mate. Even though they knew he had really good intuition, there were still doubts in their minds.
Though in the end all three of them were all retreating as fast as possible.
'It is too late to retreat.'
Grey internally commented as he finished casting tier 1 Destroyer spell, [Beam Render]. The name of the spell might be simple but the offensive power of the spell had reached the power of a top level tier 2 spell. The spell summoned a focused beam only 1.0 mm in thickness that was shot out in super high speed to cut every thing in front of it.
The team of three did not get far before they were bisected by the spell as Grey swung the focused beam, the beam did not stop when it cut through the enemy mages.
The trees, rocks and general environment were cut by the spell, it was like there had been a blade that rendered the world and cut everything in half, thus the name [Beam Render].
As if the cut was not enough, anything that had been cut by the spell started to disintegrate, this included the enemy mages. The enemy mages did not get time to lament their deaths, because they died immediately after the beam cut them.
There area where the spell hit was completely empty with only the ashes of the disintegrated.
PANT. PANT. PANT.
Grey got pale and his breathing was heavy due to over exhausting himself, that was the side effect of Destroyer level spells.
'The spell power is what I had theorised. However the mana requirement and body requirement is too heavy.'
PANT. PANT.
'A few more of these then I would need to be hosptalised because I am practically using a tier 2 spell with a tier 1 body.'
Grey only 2% of his mana left, if someone were to come and try and fight him, he could run away. Thus he immediately took out a magic crystal to try and reaccumulate his mana.
'I have to get back.'
After reaccumulating enough mana, he was ready to go back to the thick of it.
Grey used tier 1 combination spell [Bright Raging Whirlwind Flash], as he had to quickly get back thus he used a movement type combination spell. He had not double casted another spell at the same time to allow him to quickly respond if he is to find issues.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Ahh!!!..."
"For Arin!..."
"Be careful!..."
"Bring in the siege towers!..."
"Don't let those Arin dogs breach in!..."
As Grey got closer to point 3-07, he could hear that the battle was still raging. However he was more interested to know the outcome of the mage battles, because those were the most important battle, especially the tier 2 mage battle.
That was mostly because a tier 2 mage can be a singular army and completely devastate a regular human army without any problem. A regular human army can only retreat when facing such a powerful individual.
As he got closer, his awareness was able to pick up the current situation.
'I cannot hide myself from the awareness of a tier 2 mage, thus ambush tactics to help the lieutenants are out. I cannot get into a frontal battle against a tier 2 mage, I can only focus on the tier 1 mages.'
Grey observed the tier 1 mage battles.
'I have to go and assist them, but if we lose the tier 2 mage battle, we will forced to retreat.'
Grey was trying to choose which side to help, the team work between Percival and June was strong enough to help them fend off three mages that they were fighting initially.
However things were really bad for Qila, her second in command was dead, however before she died she had helped to kill one of their opponents.
This meant that Qila was fighting one against two, and she was clearly losing.
The initial number of the tier 1 mages before battle was 16 for Arin vs 19 for Ruhen, but the situation was different when Grey came back, it was 10 for Arin vs 12 for Ruhen.
Grey could see Sheryl's dead body pieces, she was clearly cut apart by a powerful wind type spell, her eyes were still showing shock at her death.
Grey could also see what was left with Ross's body, it was only the lower body, the upper body was gone, clearly a vaporisation type spell. The six that died from Arin side were all civilian recruits, the were four from team 9 and two from team 6.
'It really looks sending civilian recruits against trained veterans is just sending them to their deaths.'
Grey commented as he looked at the dead bodies, emotionally he felt nothing for these dead people. They were not friends or loved ones, the only time he felt said was when his parents from his past life died, and when he saw his mother from this world die as well.
'Lt Stein, you will have to hold on or we might be fucked if those two tier 2 mages kill you and start focusing on the tier 1 mages from our side.'
Grey thought as he ran towards to join a fight between a male mage from Arin and two enemy mages. The male mage clearly had enough training, such that he was barely able to survive against the two trained mages from Ruhen.
'What! He was able to defeat those three by himself?'
The male mage internally commented when his awareness picked up Grey coming to help him. The male mage was there when Grey took the attention of three enemy mages a few minutes ago, and went off to fight them.
However that same Grey was now running towards him whilst glowing with light and winds blowing around him.
'I might survive this yet.'
The male thought as he defended against two spells that wanted to finish him off as soon as possible as the two enemies could also observe Grey still coming with their awareness.
'I will not make it in time to save him but I should be able to get rid of those two who were fighting him.'
Grey could see that the poor fellow would not make it, he was out of mana after defending against two enemies such that after defending against the two spells he got impaled in the chest with an [Earth Spike].
When Grey got in range of those two he casted tier 1 combination spell, [Phoenix Blaze], the spell was a combination of two fire type spells, such that when it was casted, a large area in front of Grey immediately was engulfed with concentrated fire elements.
"Defend with water type spells!"
A male enemy mage who had just killed the Arin male mage with an [Earth Spike] shouted towards his male companion, two combination spells immediately followed after that.
Tier 1 combination spells, [Deep Water Barrier] and [High Pressure Water Barrier] were casted to meet the raging flame that was coming towards them.
'You don't know that Grey can double cast.'
Commented Ilse as she was close to the battle, unlike their enemies, Sharon and herself were not surprised to see Grey coming after running off to fight three enemies. Ilse and Sharon were fighting against two enemy mages, with their team work, they were not under too much pressure.
BOOOM!! BOOOM!!
The were big explosions of fire and steam, the ground that flame passed through was melted with clear signs of lava. There area around the explosion of the spells was completely cleared of trees and rocks.
There were even unwanted casualties due to the power of the three spells that collided, some regular humans were killed by the shockwaves.
PANT. PANT. PANT.
"This fellow means business… Huh?"
Just as the enemy male mage was complaining about Grey he was surprised to feel danger around him, he could not see the danger because the place was packed with steam and dust.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Ahh! IT BURNS! IT BURNS!"
Grey got closer to where those two were located and only found two burnt dead bodies. When Grey casted [Phoenix Blaze], he was actually casting two combination spells at the same time.
[Phoenix Blaze] was to distract the enemy whilst the real killer was the spell that followed the [Phoenix Blaze]. The killer spell was a combination between fire and light elements, [Multiple Star Shots], Ilse figured out the gambit immediately after seeing [Phoenix Blaze].
'Let's continue...'
