You know what's worse than being blasted out of the sky? Hearing someone bitching loud as all hell in your ear AFTER, being blasted out of the sky.
"Hel Knight! Come in, Hel Knight! Are you still alive?" I heard Orion yell over my coms, which in reality are just my ears while I'm Hel Knight. Now, I know that sounds weird as hell, but just bear with me and try to imagine a giant demon mech that can both tune into and carry sounds from far away. Got it? Good.
"Shut up already," I say groggily as I pull myself together. "my head is pounding hard as it is already."
"Well get used to it," Orion said without missing a beat. "The battle still continues on our side."
"I'm guessing you need me to come back up there and provide support huh?" I said as I finally stood up.
"That will not be necessary. I hate to admit it, but your little frenzy took care of a lot of them already. Me and my squad will take care of the rest including the commanding ship. In the meantime, I need you to find the researchers." Said Orion.
"And how the hell am I supposed to do that on this big ass planet?" I responded. I could've sworn I heard Orion breath the word idiot but was quickly able to cover it up by saying,
"I'm sending the coordinates of their last transmission. Try not to get lost and especially try not to die. Your mech is too valuable to be lost to enemy hands."
"Sir, yes sir, Captain Kiss Ass. I await to see you later at the kiss ass reception." I said.
"Jackass." Orion growled before turning off coms. If I was going to have a little Commander Keys kiss ass on my hide, then I am for damn sure going to make their life a living hell as best I can. Although, I will admit that as much as Orion bugged the hell out of me, I do hope nothing bad happens. I don't know what the hell that commanding ship shot at me but… in any case I'm sure they will all be fine. Orion is the top squad leader for a reason, so I'll keep my bets on the kid.
Now, with my worries to the side, I activate my map and logged in the coordinates I was given. I quickly figured out which direction I needed to take and wasted no time morphing jet propulsors out of Hel Knight and racing towards my destination. Although where I needed to be was a hell of a ways, one of the best things about Hel Knight was that I could not only morph weapons, but also jet propulsors. And as many as I could imagine at that. Unfortunately, I can only add so many because the speed increase after a while disorientates and fries my brain. Almost like… the feeling I got from that light the alien command ship sent out.
"Damn it!" I curse. Now that my head was on straight, I am starting to piece some things together and if I'm right, if they really sent out some kind of disruption wave then things are about to get bad. I don't know about the fate of the researchers, but I do know that Orion is still up above fighting and if I don't want that entire squad to be blindsided like I was, then I needed to hurry with my search asap.
