Juno walked to see if Adonis was hurt and when she confirmed he wasn't she laughed.
"Ado, were you surprised to get a Royal Decree to be married to the Crown Prince? Seeing the person you are, anyone would want to marry you-"
Adonis whacked the hands Juno placed on his arms and ran to his room surprising everyone.
Except Rosie.
She has some guesses after the party and Adonis's mumbling but she didn't dare create any scenario in his mind and waited to find the truth.
After Adonis's today's reaction she knew one thing, her Master despised the Crown Prince to the extend that he don't want to know of the other's existence.
Adonis locked the door to his room after he went in.
Now he can't find him right?
Nooo, fucking nooooo, he internally shouted.
What to do? What to do now?
Adonis paced around the room.
He wanted to be cooped up inside his room inside the blanket so that no one would ever be able to see him, not even that monster Prince.
But Adonis felt restless in his heart.
He knew his position better than anyone. He understood the problem no matter how much he tried not understanding it.
He was a son of a Count while the latter was the Crowned Prince, son of the King and soon to be the King himself.
The more he thought about it, the more restless he became.
No, no, just no.
He cannot be treated like before.
Please.
He doesn't want to.
Please, no.
He sat on his bed, cluching the sheets. But his right seemed to have grabbed something.
He looked down and saw it was a coat.
It didn't seem like his so whose coat-
As soon as he picked it up, he recognised it.
He didn't have to ask Rosie to recognise it, this smell.
It was the Duke's coat.
It was Magnus's coat.
Adonis held the coat and hugged it. Tears started coming out of his eyes as he thought of this person.
How come this stranger started having this effect on him?
He thought about the incident after party. He thought about how the warm person provided him warmth and the beautiful dream later on.
In that dream the warm person kissed him and said that he won't leave him.
Ha, If only that was the truth.
If only he was the person inside the warm person's big heart.
If only he was the mother of his beautiful Osiris who was inside that beautiful heart.
He missed Osiris.
Adonis couldn't open his eyes anymore. He wanted to see them, in his dreams.
"Young Master, Young Master, please wake up. Have something to eat. Please. You haven't had much food in three days and it's already night, please eat something."
Adonis hazyly stared at the person talking, Rosie, but tossed around and closed his eyes.
Rosie stayed with him the whole night as Adonis lay on his bed almost like a lifeless man.
The maids who brought breakfast returned after their Master didn't give any response to them.
Adonis woke up in the afternoon. He wanted to go to the garden for some reason so he walked out of the room.
With much effort, he was about to go down the stairs when he saw a group of people entering from the door. His feet stopped.
His nightmare creeped inside the door.
Adonis froze in his place, eyes widened, heart beating like crazy, his body grew heavy by a thousand tons with every passing second.
He wanted to disappear, he wanted to turn invisible, anything, just let anything happen so that he won't be in the same place as that man.
Maximus happened to look up exactly at the same time and saw Adonis standing at the end of the staircase. He smiled at him and said,"Dear."
Maximus took a step forward and Adonis's heart sank. He ran to his room.
Maximus kept staring at the place where the person was standing just some second ago and he smirked.
Adonis reached his room and tightly locked the door.
The scene of Maximus smiling at him repeated in his head. That smile make him feel like something dangerous was slithering in his whole body.
He hated that feeling.
He wanted to skin himself alive. Tear the skin out of his body but he shouldn't.
He paced around the room. .
He felt like he heard footsteps towards his door.
He rushed to his bed, grabbed the coat, and sat in the corner of the room, hugging the coat.
Please, God, save me. He pleaded to the God nonstop.
Adonis hated it.
He hated everything.
Maybe if he had just died, everything would end for him.
Why did he have to get second chance like this?
Just to suffer again?
Adonis trembled when he heard the knock at the door.
He clenched the coat tightly, burying his head on his knees. Like it was some magical artifact that would save him.
Adonis further buried his head and curled into a ball.
The door creaked open.
He trembled more.
"Dear Adonis."
The voice of his nightmare still felt like a nightmare even when he was wide awake.
He didn't want to see him. Adonis trembled more and more with every passing moment.
"What are you doing? Are you so sh-"
"Adonis."
Adonis quickly looked up at the familiar voice. His favourite voice.
It was the voice of the same kind person, his salvation, his savior, the person who he felt the most safe with.
Maximus was angry at the sudden intruder and shot him a glance but the latter didn't give him any attention.
Magnus just walked past him towards Adonis and stood before him.
"Why are you here? I told you to rest. You know you should rest well."
Maximus clenched his fists tighter recalling the scene from the night and now.
"Duke."
"Hmm."
"Is it you, Duke?"
"Yes."
Magnus extended a hand infront of his face.
Adonis took the hands and pulled him down.
Magnus squatted down to his level, started deep into those eyes and said,"I am sorry for leaving after I promised. But I'm back."
Tears started falling down from Adonis's eyes.
He let go of the hand and swiftly put his arms around the latter's neck so easily, like it was his daily ritual.
Magnus picked the crying beauty up easily and put him on his bed, tucking him in properly.
Adonis clung into his arms.
Maximus couldn't take it anymore.
He shouted with all he had,"How dare you, Duke of Bloodworth?"
Magnus was about to stand up but Adonis whined and clenched his arms tightly.
He caressed Adonis's hands and said,"Don't worry. I'm not leaving."
Adonis snuggled near him.
Maximus gritted his teeth at the display in front of him.
He wanted to chew that person alive.
Magnus slightly turned around and said,"What is it, Prince?"
"How could you touch the future wife of the Crown Prince, the future Male Empress in front of the fiancé himself? You know you can be hanged for that."
"Has he agreed?"
Maximus smiled and said,"If the Duke is ill-informed, let me enlighten you. As soon as the Royal Decree has the King's stamp on it, it must be obeyed. Not following is treason. And the whole family could be killed for that. There is only accepting and denying is not even a choice."
Magnus's indifferent look made Maximum gulp down.
"How can one be married without the consent of others?"
"I told you, Royal Decree cannot be denie-"
"It can be, the first prince."
Maximus's heart made a big thump sound as Magnus continued,"He can deny the decree if he already has a lover."
"T-that, he doesn't have one."
"He does."
"Where is he?"
"It's me. I am his lover."
"Y-You're lying."
"I'll explain this matter to the King myself."
"Explain it to-"
His loud voice stopped as the Duke shot him a glance.
"I can explain to those who don't understand but my efforts will never be fruitful to those who don't want to understand."
Maximus clenched his jaw and left the room.
With that, Magnus turned around to look at the sleeping beauty.
How hard must have it been for his little lamb to be this shaken?
