"Hmm. I haven't felt this way in so long. Are you this generation, Dark King?" I heard a voice inside my head. The voice sounded like it came from a grizzled old man. I didn't recognize the voice, so I was cautious when addressing it.
"I am not the Dark King. Who are you?" I asked. I was wrapped in nothing but darkness, and my body felt numb. (Where am I?) I thought as I tried to move. My body wouldn't listen to me. In fact, I could feel my body at all. I figured that I was slowly dying.
"Your not dead. At least not yet. You just passed out." The voice announced. I was happy that I wasn't dead but needed to get up. My troop would need it if they were going to survive. I struggled to move but to no avail.
"Stop struggling. I'm using my power to keep you here for a little chat," Again, the anonymous being spoke to me. Anger welled up in me.
"Who are you!? Another God planning to use me?" Nova? Or is it the Goddess of chaos herself?" I yelled into the darkness. I didn't know which God came to talk, but they were wasting my time. I needed to save my people.
"Hahahah, you are quite mistaken. Although I am acquainted with both, they have no control over me. I'm my own man, well, kinda. Hahaha." The being laughed loudly in my head. I didn't know what he meant, but he was starting to piss me off.
"I do, however, have a Proposition for you. One that could be beneficial for both of us." The voice announced. (OH, great, another deal from some unknown power. How could this go wrong?) I thought sarcastically. I started to wonder if I was a magnet for crazy Gods.
"What do you want?" I growled. I knew whatever this thing offered wouldn't be good, but I had no choice but to listen. The quicker it said what it wanted, the quicker I could refuse. I need to get back in the fight as fast as possible. Knowing Frons and Canis, they were probably fighting the Elvan leader right now, trying to save me. As they are now, they wouldn't stand a chance against Lite. They'd just be throwing their lives away.
"It's simple. Free me from this monotonous existence I've been stuck in for years. Do this, and I promise you power worthy of a God Slayer." The creature proposes. (Power, huh?) It sounded good, but power always costs. I wonder what cost would have to be paid to slay a God!
"What's the catch!" I sighed. I didn't have much of a choice. As I am now, I couldn't defeat Lite. I had grown overconfident in my abilities and dragged my people into a battle I had little hope of winning. I'd have to accept the deal from this mysterious creature. Even if it meant I would be a slave to another God. I was willing to give my life for my comrades.
"Hahaha, it's good to be cautious. Most people would jump at the chance of gaining more power. All I'll need is a little bit of your life force. Being a half-Elvan and devil, you should have more than enough to spare." The creature proposed. His word threw me for a loop. (Half Elvan?) I thought in shock. I was surprised, but then it all started to make sense. The beast all called the people living on the mountain humans. They even called me human, which was strange, considering the horn sticking out of my head.
What if the "humans" they were referring to weren't humans at all but Elvan. That would explain the appearance of the dark Elvan. It would also explain how Lite knew my mother's name. If she lived on this mountain, she would also be an Elv. It would make sense for my dad to keep it a secret. The Elvan race was persecuted and hunted to extinction because of their crimes against the world.
"I'm half Elv?" I mainly asked myself, but the mystery man answered me. I had forgotten he was even there as I was so deep in thought.
"Of course you are. Only the Elvan can wield the void. You can have your break down later we are running out of time. Choose!" It demanded. Although the new revelation had blown my mind, it would have to wait.
"I accept. If you help me kill that bastard you can have all my life force." I said, stealing my resolve. I needed to protect my people at all costs.
"Yaahoo! Good choice. Although I'm not that greedy I'll only take enough to satisfy me. Now come and find me Void warrior!" They shouted in pure glee. I just knew I was going to regret this.
The darkness began to fade, and the pain started to come back slowly. When it was all clear, I was lying face down in the dirt, and my body was in agony. I pushed myself to my feet, spitting out dirt.
I looked to my right seeing my severed limb. Blood dripped from the stump. Luckily, I had continued to pore mana into my served arm to stop the bleeding. Unfortunately for me, I hadn't done a perfect job. I focus all my attention on my right arm, slowly stopping the blood. I looked around, finding myself in the middle of the enemy camp. Leather makeshift tents covered the area. I could only see bits and pieces of the battlefield.
"Master, Master. Master!" I could hear all my guardians calling me with their soul connection. I could even hear Titan, who was down the mountain.
"I'm alive, everyone." I said as I stared in the direction my guardians were. I needed to reassure them.
"Master, where are you? Do you need help?" Frons was the first to speak. I could hear the fear in her voice. Canis followed soon after voicing his concerns.
"I'm fine. More importantly, I need you all to buy me some time. I know it might be too much to ask, but.." My swords and shield answered in unison before I could finish.
"Yes, master!" Both Canis and Frons answered without hesitation. ( I didn't deserve such loyalty.) I thought as I looked away from where the battle was taking place. I needed to find this mysterious person if I was going to save everyone. Although I didn't completely trust this person's help, it was the only shot we had at surviving.
"Just hold him off for a little bit. Don't do anything reckless. If you have to run! I could live with myself if something happened to either of you." I said. They both agreed, but I knew they wouldn't run. ( damn it, I need to be quick.) I thought to myself as I limped further away from my troop; then, it hit me. I had no idea where to look for this God Slayer.
"Follow the void. It will lead you to me." The mysterious voice spoke to me again. I stopped and closed my eyes, trying to follow the void. This was my first time trying something like this, so I needed to figure it out. After a few seconds, I felt something strange, like something was tugging on my Ki. I opened my eyes and noticed my body was covered in black mana.
Tiny strings of my Ki were flowing outward as if drawn to something. (I guess I'm following this.) I thought while walking in the direction my Ki was taking me. Pain shot through me with every step I took. A few ribs were broken, and my internal organs were a wreck. I couldn't focus on that as I was too busy to heal my right arm. I wasn't to worry about my missing appendage; with my devil's body, it would grow back with time. However, I didn't know how long it would actually take.
I stumbled through the enemy's camp, following my mana. I hoped whatever I was about to release wouldn't bite me in the ass later, but that was just wishful thinking. Power always comes at too great a cost.
"Yes, yes, that's it. I can feel you getting closer." The stranger announced as I stepped over the 20th campfire. I could feel myself getting closer as well. The pull on my mana was getting stronger. As I strolled past one last tent, I tripped over a dead enemy falling face down to the ground. I could not catch myself as one hand held my ribs, and the other was gone.
Ughh!" I groaned as I rolled over to my back. I looked up at the sky. I could hear the screams of battle, and I began to worry about Canis and the others. ( Move, damn it! MOVE!) I screamed at my body as I began to roll over. I crawled with all my might gritting my teeth.
A few minutes later, I arrived at a large leather tent. It no doubt belongs to Lite, the leader of this Elvan army. At the front of the tent was the head of a giant dead bear. It made me think of (Burr). I figured the dead beast was a member of her family. I made my way inside the tent, seeing a large desk filled with some paper. On the left side was a small bed covered in fur. The whole tent was lit by a few lamps, making it easy to see. I set out to search for the strange being I've looking for. I turned to the left and could help but laugh.
" I hope you aren't the one I'm supposed to release," I said, laughing in disbelief. In the corner of the tent was a small cage holding a pale little girl. The child had to be no older than 7 or 8. ( Was this all some sick joke?) I thought as I looked at the terrified little one. On closer inspection, I learned she wasn't human but an Elv and not a dark Elvan.
"No fool turn to you right more." The creature scolded. I turned to see a small crater in the ground. In the hole was a long black hammer. The handle had a metal swirl running to the end of the weapon. The hammer itself wasn't very big, around the size of a grown man's fist. The head was shaped like a square, and at the end was a spike like a tiny pickaxe.
"YOU?" I said, staring at the weapon. I could feel my mana gravitating toward the thing.
"OH great a talking hammer." I scoffed as I crawled closer.
"I'm no ordinary hammer, little girl. I'll let you know I've slayed countless enemies more impressive than you, halfling. God's would tremble at the site of me." The hammer's voice echoed through my head. I couldn't really argue with the weapon. For all I knew, it could be telling the truth. I'd never seen a talking Warhammer before; it was undoubtedly a particular weapon.
"We'll whatever you are can you help me or not?" I hurriedly asked. I began to worry about my comrades.
"I've been up against far worse than that Elvan bastard. With my help, we could take over this world if you wish. I'll you have to do is pick me up, and the deal will be sealed." The hammer explained. I couldn't back out now. If this Warhammer could help, I was willing to sell my soul.
I struggled up to my knees and stared down at the weapon. (Hear goes nothing.) I thought as I reached out my hand, grasping the hilt of the hammer. I tried to pick it up, but the dumb thing didn't budge. The damn hammer had to weigh at least a thousand pounds, maybe more. I tried to cover it with my mana to be even instead of wrapping around the weapon like it usually would. My ki was being sucked in at a rapid pace.
"Yes, yes! Finally, raise me up. The hammer spoke as it became lighter. I began to lift it, and the weapon got lighter the higher I raised it. Soon it was above my head, absorbing more and more of my mana. Then I felt my body go numb as something strange spread over it. It felt like I was being wrapped in the void but a more solid version of the element. It was hard to see in the dimly lit tent, but I could still see my skin becoming solid black. (What the hell is going on?) I thought as I began to stand on my feet.
"It is known as void armor. With it, you have become a true void warrior!" The Warhammer explained as if it was reading my mind. ( What the hell is black armor) I thought as I held the hammer in front of me. All the pain from earlier was gone. I could only feel the warm embrace of the new armor.
"Void armor is just solid void energy. It isn't meant to stop attacks. It's only good at keeping one in the fight. For example, if your cut, you will feel the pain for a few seconds before it goes away. You'll still bleed. You just won't feel it." The weapon explained this time. I knew it was reading my mind, but I let it go.
"I look like a dark Elv," I said as I swung the hammer a few times, getting used to the weight. The weapon was lighter than a twig now. I had wielded Warhammer before in my old life, but I never really cared for the thing.
"Those abominations have a lesser version of black armor. But enough explanation, what is your name, little girl? You may call me Libra. It is the name my creator gave me." Libra announced with pride.
"My name is Gora Hydra, Queen of the beast glades. Let's get along, Libra!" I said as I turned to the little girl locked in her cage. Her eyes went wide as she stared back at me. I walked closer and tried to free her, but the little one seemed shocked. I undid the latch and let her out, but she didn't move.
"Libra, can you speak to her? I asked the hammer. He assured me that the girl was okay. I decided to deal with the little Elv later and walked outside the tent.
"Before you go into battle, you should do something about that area of yours," Libra said. He must have been talking about my severe right arm. Wielding a Warhammer required two arms to be efficient, but I didn't know what he expected me to do about it now. That's when a strange thought entered my head. Feeling the mana, I closed my eyes and formed an artificial arm. I tried to copy the black armor now wrapped around my body. Luckily, it worked, and in a few seconds, I was staring at a solid black arm. I moved it around and wiggled my fingers. I wrapped the new arm around the hammer, noticing I didn't feel the same as a real one, but it was pretty close.
"Good now your ready! Shall we begin the slaughter? I've been trapped with out an owner for far to long!" Libra said, making my heart beat faster. I felt the rush of battle flowing through my body. It was time for some payback!
