Chapter 79 - A Fair War

Gora:

Clap, Clap, Clap.

"Hahaha, the little hellspawn taught you beast pretty

well." The Elvan leader laughed as he clapped his hands.

The damn creature had been toying with us for some

time now. We had been fighting with everything we had, but

we could barely land a hit on the Elv. I had suffered a few

cuts and burns from the lighting I could scarcely

dodge. It was a miracle that we even survived this long.

I was sure the Dark Elv would

have lost interest in us rather quickly if it wasn't for the bear.

"I would love to stay and play with you, but your little boss

is slowly dying. I should attend to her before she bleeds

out." Lite laughed as yellow sparks danced around his

fingers. (Bastard!) I thought as I ground my teeth in

anger.

"I'll kill you!" Frons screamed as she charged recklessly.

(Damn you, woman!) I thought as I charged in as well.

Flame exploded from my feet, propelling to my opponent,

but I could already tell I wouldn't make it in

time. Fire swirled around my sword (flaming sweep!) I

thought as I launched a long ark of flames off my blade.

Lite dodged the long firey arc but not before releasing a

lightning bolt at Frons.

However, I accomplished my goal as the yellow

bolt barely missed the monkey's chest and hit her

shoulder. Frons fell to one knee in pain. I felt terrible for her

but could do nothing; the Elvan leader was making his

move again. He glared at me. Before I could think, he

disappeared, appearing in front of me. My sword moves out

of instinct. I slashed horizontally, aiming to cut the Elv in

half, only to hit nothing but air.

"To slow, little pup!" I heard a voice from behind. I turn to

see Lites grinning face as he prepares to attack. Time

seemed to slow as I awaited my fate. I knew I couldn't dodge the blow, which would likely be

fatal.

Bang!

I watch in surprise as a clear fist strikes the dark Elvan

square in the jaw. His head shot to the side, and spit left

his mouth. Frons had saved me at the last second.

(Good shot, monkey!) I thought as flames exploded

behind me, launching me forward, creating much

needed space from my opponent.

I spun around quickly, preparing for Elv's retaliation.

Lucky for me, there was none. The fire wasn't enough to

hurt Lite, but it did stop him from giving chase. Still, he quickly swatted the flames. The man looked annoyed as his veins bulged out of his neck. This brought a smile to my face. I was happy to be alive but even happier

that we could live for so long. My Master would be proud

if she could see us. A slight pain hit my heart as I thought

about Gora. The last time I saw her, she wasn't in good

shape.

"You insignificant buggings!" Lite was cut off as the bear

wrapped its mouth around Elv's body. Such an enormous

creature could move quickly and quietly when needed.

I figured it had to do with how it controlled its Ki. I

almost forgot the bear was even there. Although not fast

enough to keep up most of the fight, the beast

always found an excellent chance to strike.

"AHHH! Let go of my damn beat!" Lite yelled as the

bear shook its head back and forward at an alarming

rate. I watch with a smirk as the dark Elvan struggles to

free itself. My grin shrunk when I saw the dark cloud

appear over the beast.

BOOM!

"Die!" Lite yelled as white lighting fell from the sky. It

struck the bear with a mighty force, causing it to release

Lite from its jaws. The bear fell limp, and smoke came from its back. Lite flew through the air and rolled as he hit the ground. For a moment, he

didn't move. (Stay down, please stay down!) I thought as I held my breath. I turned to Frons, who smiled, although that simple act made her grimace in pain. The monkey looked like she was on her last leg, struggling to stay on her feet.

For a moment, we both look at one another in relief. I

was about to suggest we find Gora when I saw Frons

eyes go wide. I slowly turned around and watched as

Lite began to stand. Yellow lighting cracked all over his

body, and the skies above grew dark.

"Filthy creatures! How dare you wound me!" Lite roared

with anger. The once shiny white armor was now

covered in dirt and blood. The bite from the bear left

large dents and teeth marks. If not for armor, I was sure

I'd be looking at a dead man right now.

"Playtime ends now!" Lite growled as lighting roared overhead. Lighting came down from the sky, shaped like a giant dragon headed straight for us. The attack was so large it threatened Frons and me, who were a few steps away from one another. I might be able to by myself, but I could tell Frons wouldn't make it out alive. She was just too hurt. (Damn you, monkey.) I thought as a burst of flames propelled me forward. I quickly pushed Frons out of the path of the lightning dragon. I closed my eyes as the elemental serpent prepared to swallow me whole.

BOOM!

A loud explosion threatened to bust my ears drums, and

a strong wind almost pushed me over. After a moment, I

realized that I wasn't in pain. I was completely

unharmed. I opened one of my eyes and saw a woman

with inky black skin and long black hair. She wielded a

black war hammer that stopped the Lite's attack in its

track.

"You both did good! Have a good rest while I finish this."

The woman said as she turned to look at Frons and me. I

recognized her voice even before she turned.

"Master!" Frons and I said almost at the same time. I fought back a tear as I gazed up at Gora; her yellow eyes seemed golden as she stood tall. I had many questions about why her skin was so black and where she got the hammer. More importantly, how the hell did her arm grow back? I'd have to wait. However, we have far more pressing matters right now. I stole a looked at the Elvan commander. I almost laughed at his dumbfounded look. I could've sworn that his eyes were about to fall out

the way he stared at Gora.

"Im...Impossible! How could an abomination like you like

the hammer with such ease! No...no, no, it's all a trick; yes,

that's right, a trick." Lite started to mumble to himself. It

would seem that the Warhammer my Master now

wielded had something to do with her transformation.

"Master, you should run! We will hold them off." Frons

Said. I wanted to agree with her and voice my thoughts

as well. I knew it was a long shot to keep fighting, but I

knew Gora wouldn't leave us behind. It was why I

loved her so much.

" I will stay and fight Frons. You, too, rest up." Gora

announced, and she walked towards Lite, who

was still racking his brain. Frons tried to follow, but I

grabbed her before she could get far. The monkey was

tough, but I knew she was at her limit.

Gora stopped halfway between Lite and us. She bent down and grabbed her sword, still held by her severed arm. She put her sword down momentarily before removing her storage ring and placing the sword in it before putting the ring on her finger.

"I am Queen Gora of the beast Glades! If I didn't protect

my people, I wouldn't be worthy of such a title." Gora said

as black Ki leaked and began to cover the ground. It started to expand further and further away. It was as if the massive beast was swallowing the world. When the ki reached us, I could feel my body get lighter. I watched as Gora's ki reached the battlefield of the beasts and dark Elv's. Our troops were moving faster while the Elvan started to slow down. Some even stopped in their tracks. I estimate that there were around 50 of the little Elvan creatures. With masters ki, it seemed like they would finish the enemy in no time now. The black ki also surrounded Lite, who looked around in confusion.

"Haha, ahah! I was going to enjoy torturing you slowly.

But now I'm thinking of killing you right here, right now.

The black lord will praise me for removing such a

threat to his rule. Rejoice, devil pawn! You get to die far

quicker than I had originally planned," Lite roared as

charged. However, he didn't just disappear this time. Instead, he was more like a blur. It made his movements much easier to see. I figured this was because of the ki encompassing us all. Lite summoned a giant lighting fist that was twice the size of Gora.

Gora took the lighting-covered fist head-on with her new

hammer. Slamming the move into the ground harmlessly.

Lite grits his teeth before trying to retreat. I say, trying

because countless black hands grabbed hold of the Elvan leader before he could get far. He quickly broke free from a few of them, but more would take their place. Gora didn't miss this chance as she rushed the man.

She was quicker than usual, not quite as fast as Lite, but

still much faster than before. Lite eyes went big in

shock. I could see the fear on his face for the first time since

the battle began. The Elvan leader broke his arms free from the

black limbs just in time to block Masters hammer.

Lighting covered his forearms as he braced himself.

BANG!

The hammer struck Lite with a mighty force sending the

man flying a few yards. He hit the ground and continued

to roll; his body hit the hard earth with enough power to

leave small craters in the stone. Lite managed to stop

himself after traveling hundreds of meters away. He now

sat kneeling, and I could see one of his arms was

mangled beyond recovery. (What the hell is that hammer?) I

thought to myself in amazement.

I hated to admit it, but Lite was one tough bastard, able to

withstand blows from the level eight bear and shake them

off. Although one hit from the inky black hammer turned

him into a cripple. The Dark Elvan's arm was bent so

many places that I lost count of how many protruding

bones I could see. Gora gave her opponent no time to

breathe as she was already charging even before the

man stopped himself.

WHOOSH!

I could hear the wind move as Gora swung her hammer again, aiming to crush Lite's head this time. The man bent his body awkwardly, barely dodging the swinging hammer. He stood up and started to jump

back to create distance. My Master was already turning around as her Warhammer slid down. Now she held the hammer by the head, using it to punch Lite in the gut.

Bang!

The attack connected and sent Lite tumbling through the air again. The grey-skinned man landed just inches away from his original spot. Gora continued her assault, not giving Lite a chance to think.

"Ahhh!" Lite groaned as he quickly got to his feet. I was impressed at how swiftly he recovered this time. Dark Elv's were known for their ability to ignore pain. Still, I was sure that Gora's last attack had broken a few of the man's ribs.

Crackle!

Lighting sparked from the man's hands as more than a

dozen bolts shot from his fingertips. My Master didn't stop her charge, however. She managed to dodge most of them but couldn't completely avoid them. Gora caught two bolts, one in her good arm and the other in her left leg. The lighting shot through her flesh, and smoke rose from the wounds. I watched in shock as the inky black substance quickly covered the injuries. (What the hell was that?) I thought as she continued her assault, only slowing down a little.

Just as Gora was about to reach her target. I noticed the lighting appeared over Lites's head. I was too busy focusing on the tiny bolts to realize what he was doing. A large hand made of lighting emerged from the clouds dropping at an alarming speed. The hand was large enough to cover both Lite and Gora. I could see the Elvan leader smirk as Gora was mid-swing of her hammer. If she continued her attack, she would be

crushed by the lighting hand.

BOOM!

Gora decided to dodge the blow but not completely. I could see tiny sparks covering her body as she rolled away. Master tried to stand back up, but the little sparks made it hard. Master gritted her teeth as she fought through the pain. It looked like she was having spasms.

Lite took this chance to launch another lighting dragon. This was much smaller than the one he used on me and Frons. Gora rolled to her left, avoiding the move, but Lite was prepared, launching more of his small bolt. Master stood up and began spinning the Warhammer so fast that the weapon blurred.

Bang, Bang, Bang, bang!

The bolts exploded the second they touched the spinning

hammer, causing the dust to flare up. I held my breath, waiting for the smoke to clear to see if Gora was okay.

Suddenly the smoke cleared as a black spear shot

through the air, headed straight for Lite. He steps to the

side, barely avoiding the spear. Then another one came right

behind it. Lite turned his head but still received a small cut on his cheek.

The man turned back only to see Gora just about to

reach him. Lite had enough time to raise his hand

and fire one lightning bolt. Gora quickly ducked the bolt

and maneuvered her hammer so the end was

now facing Lite. She extended the hammer catching the

dark Elvan in the gut. Lite spit blood as he was pushed

back.

Gora didn't waste time and spun around, swinging her

hammer underhanded. The hammer carved through the earth and launched a big rock directly at Lite, who was starting to recover. However, before the stone could reach him, he slashed the hair creating a long lighting blade that cut it in half and kept going. Gora stepped to the side of the

blade, then dashed forward, now directly beside Lite. She

was close enough to touch the man with her nose.

Gora cocked her head back and struck the Elv with her

skull. Lite's head shot back as blood poured from his

forehead. He was lucky Gora's horn didn't impale him

between the eyes.

Unfortunately, Masters's head was bleeding, but the

black substance again covered her wound. Lite quickly

spun and hit Gora with a mean backhand from his one

good arm. Masters headed rock to the side, and she

stumbled a little but could keep her feet. Lite

followed up with a roundhouse kick only to have it blocked

by Gora's hammer. The melee continued with no clear

Victor in the site. They both landed a few good hits but

nothing too serious.

After a minute of all-out melee, I could tell that both were

getting tired. I could see Lite in such a pitiful state for the first time since the battle started. Before, the man was confident and smiling; he struggled to stay alive. Gora seems to have the Advantage now as she continues her assault. At one point, landing an attack on Lites left leg, putting him on his knees. He tried to stand but failed.

(Finish it, Master!)I thought as Gora slowly raised her hammer, preparing to bring it down on Elv's head. Masters wounds seemed

to be getting to her because she moved notably

slower. The dark aura that once surrounded the

the battlefield was no more, and the black armor that covered

her skin was slowly disappearing.

Lite was the same. I could sense a tiny sliver of Ki

he had left, and his once pure white armor was dented

and covered in dried grey blood. It looked like the end for

the Dark Elvan. I held my breath as I watched Gora bring

the Warhammer down, then something caught my eye. A

tiny spark on Lites's legs.

Squish!

Lite had closed the distance between

him and Gora in a blink of an eye. He had saved the last bit of mana he had and pieced my Master's stomach with his hand.

"Hahahah!" Lite laughed manically as he held Gora in the

air. My heart dropped as she coughed up a ton of blood.

"Nooo!" Frons shriek. She limps while running towards our Master. I commanded the flames to push me forward, stopping short as Lite turned to us.

"Move, and I'll rip her spine out!" He threatened. We stopped dead in our tracks. Neither Frons nor I took another step. I racked my brain, trying to devise a way to save Gora, but nothing came to mind.

"You coward! Using such a dirty trick." Frons spit. I was thinking the same thing. The Elv pretended to be hurt to draw my Master in.

"Shut it, you Filthy beast. This is war. Nothing is off-limits.

Ain't that right, demon spawn?" Lite asked Gora, who was desperately holding the man's arm with one hand. She had surprisingly still held the hammer limply in the other hand.

"Let her go, and we'll let you live!" I begrudgingly

proposed. The grey man didn't have any strength left.

The moment he killed Gora, I planned on cutting his head off.

Frons was most likely thinking the same thing. However, if he let

her go, I'd let him live, for now at least.

"Your armies are all but decimated. Let my Master go, and

you won't follow your men to the afterlife." Frons spoke as

she ground her teeth. Lite turned to see only a handful of his men left. With no allies and no strength, he had no more cards to play.

"HA! As if I'd make a deal with you unintelligent

creatures! No, I must destroy the threat to my kings.

Throne. Plus, I will feel so good killing Nova's

abomination." Lite smirked as he dug his hand a little

deeper into Gora's belly. She grunted in pain before

smirking.

"Don't count me out, just ye.." Gora started to speak

before she lost consciousness. (God's, no!) I thought as

Goras slowly dropped her hammer. Time seems to go

slow as the weapon drop to the ground. I began to move

when the Warhammer hit the earth.

Boom!

The weapon hit the ground with a loud bang kicking up so

much dust I could only see the silhouettes of the two

combatants. (How heavy was that damn thing.) I thought

as the dust slowly dissipated. When I could see clearly

again, I noticed that Gora was back up, grinning madly.

Her black blade was now in her hand and was plunged

deeply into Lites's chest. She must have summoned it

from her ring when the hammer hit the ground.

"Nothing off limits in war, right? I hope you don't mind

me using your trick against you?" Gora asked before they

both hit the ground. Frons and I were so stunned that it

took us a moment to realize what happened. I

quickly rushed over to my Master, who was now laying

face up. Blood leaked from her

stomach wound.

Frons and I fell to our knees before her. I tried to fight it, but the tears started to fall. The monkey was wailing

while hugging the barely conscious Gora. My Master was

in bad shape, and I couldn't tell if she would make

it; without thinking, I poured the last bit of mana

into Gora. ( please be okay.) I prayed.
