Gora:
I laid down, trying my best not to move. I controlled my breathing to not be too noticeable. We had been lying in wait for a few hours. Soon the enemy would be upon us. All this waiting had brought up memories of my past life as Sir George. I was no stranger to ambushes. I couldn't count how many times I've been a part of an ambush. When I was reincarnated into the body of Gora, I hoped I wouldn't be doing things like this. I also didn't think I'd be commanding a force of beasts and living in a forest. (Why couldn't I have a regular life?) I wondered. God's are cruel.
"Master, the enemy is close." Frons Said. Now that she was my guardian, we could talk to one another even when we were far from each other. I was happy the Elvan scouts were almost here. The cold was starting to get to me. Lucky for us, it hadn't snowed today.
"Good, contact me once they reach the designated location," I stated. I couldn't see anything from my position, so I had Frons be on the lookout.
Crunch!
The sound of people walking got my attention. (There here!) I thought. Judging by the sounds, I'd say the foe we're pretty close. My blood started to boil as I waited for the right time to strike. The memory of the valley popped into my mind. I had lost soldiers in that battle, but this time would be different.
Ooo aye!
I heard the sounds of my gorillas yelling. The must-have spotted the Elvan. I could hear the sounds of battle from my hiding spot. The plan was to draw most of the enemy before Frons gave me the signal.
"Now, Master! Frons shouted in my head. I burst from the snow letting out a mighty roar as I appeared in the middle of the enemy lines. The tiny grey creatures were surprised at my sudden appearance. Some of them fell flat on their butts. I use this opportunity it insight a little more fear into the Elvan. I released my blood lust as I summoned my long black sword. Fear was written all over the enemy's face. With a wide grin, I started the slaughter.
One of the Elvan found the courage to attack first. He carried a wooden club and aimed it at my legs. Before he could reach me, I cut his head off. Blood hit the snow, and the creature's head fell to my feet. Then I jumped into the fray. My sword was a blur as it cut threw the enemy.
Bang
I caught a wood club that was aimed for my back. While I held one of the opponents at bay, I summoned a black hand to swipe away income attackers. Now that I had space, I dealt with the club welder. I disarmed the tiny man before burring my sword in his throat. Then I spun around, bisecting another creature from his left hip to his right shoulder.
Without wasting time, cast a 6-foot wide void blade.
Ahh!
Cries of anguish filled the forest. As I continued my onslaught. After s few minutes of battle, I finally got a breather as wooden spikes flew threw the air. The makeshift spears rained down on the enemy back lines. Most of them missed their mark, but a few found spikes managed to impale a few Elvan. ( The gorillas must have finished in the front.) I thought, glancing towards Frons.
The only ones left were Frons and the dark Elvan leader. The remaining Elvan lay dead or dying on the ground. I didn't expect them to handle them that fast, but I was happy now I wouldn't have to exhaust myself fighting so many people alone. The gorillas were helping deal with the remaining 50 or so Elvan warriors.
"Keep him alive!" I order Frons through our soul bond. She gave me a simple yes to not lose focus on her fight. Although she was an entire layer above her layer five opponent, I could tell that the elvan leader was well trained with his spear. I could see multiple cuts on my guardian's body. Still, she had a big smile on her face. ( I guess she's having fun.) I thought.
On the other hand, her opponent was breathing heavily, and he held his side in pain. Luckily he didn't seem to have an element. That was good. I wouldn't have to worry about Fron too much. I had complete faith in the woman's victory. In terms of strength, she was second only to Titan and me. Frons took her training seriously, and thanks to her four arms, she was a monster when it came to Ti-Ki.
HA!
I turned to see a charging grey creature holding a bone knife. My sword moved before I could think, and I lopped off the creature's arm before taking its head. It all happened so fast that the man didn't even have time to mourn his lost limb before he died. Apparently, the gorillas had run out of spears cause the army was advancing on me again. I got ready to face them again when my troop leaped from the trees.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Half of the hulky apes landed in front of me one after another. While the other half landed behind the enemy. Although they were outnumbered, the gorillas were more than twice the size of the dark Elvan. They were all layer four while our enemy was on layer three.
OooO Aye!
One of the apes shouted before the whole troop joined in. In seconds the beast was on the attack. What proceeded was a one-sided battle in our favor. The mighty gorillas ripped the tiny grey creatures to pieces. I could help but laugh manically at the scene before. The Elvan we're being thrown around like rag dolls caught in a tornado. ( Frons trained her men well.) I thought as the battle was coming to an end.
Some Elvan decided to cut their losses and run as their numbers dwindled. I was about to give chase, I could let even one of them escape, or that would warn the others. Before I could move, I saw black smoke rise in front of one of the deserters.
From the smoke emerge a black Panter. (I forgot all about little Shadow.) I thought as the Panter sunk his teeth in the small Elvans neck. The scene was gruesome but necessary. The other attempted escapees were quickly hunted down by Shadow and his tiger troops.
In half an hour, we had succeeded in our ambush. The only Elvan left alive was their leader. The man lay up against a tree. His dark armor was all dented up and blood leaked from his mouth. ( I should have told Frons to take it a little easier on the elvan leader.) I thought as I bent down to see if the man was breathing. The creature tried to grab the spear next to him, but he was too weak.
"Frons, did he say anything not worthy?" I asked my guardian. The woman was busy lying in the snow. She had a few cuts, but they were all shallow wounds. Frons was more tired than anything.
"Mostly curses! He was pretty strong, though not as strong as you master. Still, I could tell he was trained properly." Frons explained her breath was ragged from exhaustion.
"Good jobs Frons. I'm proud to call you my shield." I said as I gazed at the woman. Frons blushed but was too tired to move.
"Take a nice rest and have your men guard our friend over here," I said while pointing at the now unconscious Elvan. I would have to interrogate him later when he woke up.
"Where are you going?" Frons asked as she shot up from her spot. I explained to her that I was going on a scouting mission. I decided to use this time to examine the enemy's main camp. The guardian reluctantly agreed. I took Shadow and his group to see what the rest of the Elvan were up to.
It took a few hours to reach the enemy's main camp. The dark Elvan were stationed a few miles outside of the woods. I saw makeshift tents fashioned from leather hides. Around the tents roamed hundreds of Elvan. ( What the hell is this?) I thought as I scanned the camp. Dark Elvan weren't known for being this organized. There had to be at least a thousand little beings, and they seemed like a regular army. I examined the camp thoroughly, trying to see if there spotted any of their leaders. I had to know what we'd be up against.
"Not too close, your Majesty. There is a powerful being in the camp. He's almost spotted me twice." Shadow announced from behind me. The panther's words surprised me. Shadow was my best scout because of his smoke element. It was even hard for me to sense him in his shadow form. Whoever this Elvan was had to be at least a layer seven. ( Damn it, things just get harder and harder.) I thought.
"Why haven't they traveled to the top of the mountain yet?" I asked Shadow. It seemed strange that they would set up their camp in their current position. I would think they'd either head to the peak or make their way down the mountain.
"I managed to sneak to the other side of the camp and found something strange. It seems that a barrier keeps everything from reaching the mountain's peak." Shadow explains.
"Barrier!? Ugh! lets get back. I need to interigate our prisoner and find out what the hell is going on. This mountain is becoming a real pain." I groaned. Finding the main enemy camp had left me with more questions than answers. Lucky we had left one of the scouts alive. Hopefully, he will be able to answer my growing list of questions.
