"Brudder Boob! Ya late!" Calling out from down the street the moment he saw Alex, Thorn was sitting on the steps in front of his small shack, leaning back against the door, waiting.
"Sorry. Sorry," Alex waved apologetically, while seductively walking on past Thorn, almost as if the other didn't exist.
"Sticks no home," Thorn snorted, getting up to follow along.
"I'm not going to Stick's place," Alex laughed, in a lightly feminine and very merry voice. "I'm heading down to Granny Stone's place, before we head out to work this morning."
"Unn," Thorn nodded, content to simply lumber along and follow Alex wherever he might be going.
"Hey Old Hag!" Going just a few houses down past Stick's place, Alex pushed open the barely hanging door of a dilapidated, run down, old shack, and casually walked on in. "You in here Hagatha?" Yelling, he waved happily over at Granny Stone, who was hunched over and stirring up something in an old bowl.
"Ain't no damn Hagatha in here," Granny Stone snorted derivatively. "Just an old Stone!" Cackling happily, she pointed with the ladle she was holding over at Thorn, who was just starting to peak through the door. "Out! Out! And stay out," she demanded, at the top of her old voice. "Your big ass will break my floor!"
"Dat okay," Thorn sighed and simply sat down to wait in front of the open door, without going in. "Brudder Boob be gunna work me ass off todey," he sighed, sadly. "Me like me ass, but me guess it'z gotta go, if'n it'z be ah break'n floors. Bad ass," he told his rump, as he looked down at himself. Alex shook his head slightly and smiled sadly, while Granny Stone cackled uncontrollably, listening to Thorn.
"This is for you, pretty lady," Alex flirtatiously blew a kiss at Granny, while holding the stolen first aid kit out to her.
"Thank ye," Granny smirked happily as she laid her ladle in the pot she was stirring up, before taking the wooden box from him. "Now, sit down on that stool over there, and let me have a good look at your eyes," Granny commanded, pointing to the single stool which sat in front of the broken down old crate which she normally used for her table.
"Oh? Has the beauty of my eyes captivated the beautiful maiden?" Fluttering his eyelashes furiously, Alex sat down and teasingly flirted outrageously at Granny Stone.
"Not one bit," Granny snorted, sitting the first aid kit down near whatever she'd been stirring. "I just figured somebody aught to check them for you, since there's no pretty ladies, or beautiful maidens anywhere around here!"
"Brudder Boob be ah pretty lady," Thorn corrected her seriously, from right outside the door.
"I'm no lady," Alex denied, vehemently! "I've already explained that to you before, Thorn!" Snorting loudly, Alex got up and stomped over towards the old pile of straw and rags which made up the existence of Granny Stone's bed. Unceremoniously yanking off his top and skirt, Alex tossed those onto the center of the pile, before shuffling around in the mess of it to pull out an old, tattered, cotton dress.
"I'm borrowing this," Alex snorted, wiggling into the thin and faded dress, ignoring the several dubious stains and tares in it. 'Even if it is thin enough to not hide anything,' Alex sighed, thinking to himself, 'at least it's not the school's colors. I shouldn't be bothered wearing this today.'
"Seems pretty obvious to me, kekeke," Granny cackled tauntingly. "Only thing I'm seeing when I look at you is a pretty little lady."
"Oh stuff it you two." Trying to ignore Granny's boisterous laughter, and Thorn's head bobbing up and down idiotically in agreement with her words, Alex worked his way back around Thorn and outside. "Come on Thorn. Let's go. We've got stuff to do today."
"Okies, Brudder Boobs," Thorn agreed happily, easing up and wrapping an arm protectively around Alex's soft, feminine shoulders.
"We'll be back late this evening, or early tonight," Alex called back into the house, promising Granny. "I'll return your dress to you then." He didn't try to pull away from Thorn at all. Even if Alex didn't want to think of himself as a woman, he wasn't an idiot. He knew precisely how much his roommates had altered his appearance over the last few years, and he knew precisely where he was right now.
Right now, he had to rely on Thorn to help protect him and keep him safe — particularly since he wasn't wearing the school's colors at the moment — but Alex swore that that was going to change shortly in the future.
