His sister's favored route in Campus Goddess: Be Worshipped. The bad boy himself, in the flesh. And they've actually met before.
Under his lame, extra-large sunglasses, Mo Aini narrowed his eyes at the enemy.
"Fiend! Go back in line and await for your turn!" Ma Jianyu dramatically shooed him away.
Hu Chuntian raised his foot at the desk booth. "What if I don't want to? You gonna cry about it, cowboy?"
"I am a prince!" Ma Jianyu corrected.
"Cowboy, prince, what's the difference? They're all as real as unicorns anyway."
Mo Aini wants to argue that cowboys and princes do exist in real life unlike unicorns, but he kept his mouth shut.
"There's no need to cut in line, sir." Mo Jiagei intervened. "You must wait your turn to fill your club membership form."
"That's what I tried to do but this Hoodie Guy is taking forever. Why can't he just finish the stupid form?" Hu Chuntian gave the wrapped up Mo Aini a deadly look.
Ma Jianyu scoffed. "This 'Hoodie Guy' has a name, sir. He's Jie Taime, like 'I love you' in French, and he's just been acquainting with us like a friendly gentleman would."
"Well, are you done acquainting now?" Hu Chuntian got the form and slam it on Mo Aini's chest. "Go fill out that form and scram."
"Hey!" Ma Jianyu stood up from his seat. "That's not very gentleman-like of you, good sir! Apologize right away!"
"What if I don't want to?" Hu Chuntian said.
Ma Jianyu glared at him. "Let me remind you, sir. Filling out the form doesn't mean you're automatically accepted in the Theater Club. It needs approval from the club president...."
He grinned and pointed at himself. "Which just so happens to be me. So if I don't like the behavior you had been exhibiting, let me tell you now that there's no use waiting in line."
"Let's give him another chance, Ma Jianyu." Mo Jiagei frowned. "Mr. Jie Taime, just please fill out the form immediately. What role would you like to have in the Theater Club? You could be an actor, scriptwriter, director, technical or a props man."
Hu Chuntian chuckled. "No way in hell this guy's an actor when he's covering up like that. He's better off as a props man or something."
Mo Aini remembered Gou Manchu's story last night. If your team can't win, then sabotage the other team.
"You know what?" Mo Aini brought down his face mask for a little bit and smiled genuinely at Hu Chuntian. "That sounds like a really great idea as always, A-Tian*. Thanks for the suggestion, you're a really great friend."
"Huh?" Hu Chuntian's condescending smirk disappeared from his face.
"You two know each other?" Mo Jiagei asked.
He wrapped his arm around Hu Chuntian's shoulders. "Yeah, Hu Chuntian and I go way back! He's always been helpful to me and even tutors me on the subjects I'm not good at! When we were kids he always gives me his spare food too! He may seem like a rude guy, but he's actually good at heart. He just doesn't like showing his kindness!"
Mo Aini thought that if only he could come up with Math test answers faster than he can come up with lies, he would be a genius by now.
"What nonsense are you saying—"
"There was this one time, I had almost drowned into a river. He still went on to save me, even though it was so dangerous!"
"I don't even know who you are—"
"He's so modest about his good deeds that he gave everyone a gift for Christmas but didn't put his name on it. Isn't he the sweetest?~"
Mo Jiagei blinked. "I see. Though you didn't have to tell me all that...."
(Of course I have to, meimei! I'm turning your bad boy crush into a good boy here!)
"A-Tian, as thanks for the milk tea that you gave me earlier, let me finish your form for you!" Mo Aini finished the two forms with the speed of light, never losing his fake smile.
"You probably couldn't wait because you have to go to the elderly home to visit your grandma this afternoon, right? I promised to join you but I got too caught up in conversation with the Theater Club members. That must be why you're so upset, but don't worry, it's all done! Let's go!"
He dragged the grumpy Tiger Emperor far, far away from Mo Jiagei before he could even say another bad boy dialogue.
"Hey, what the hell is wrong with you!?" Hu Chuntian took his hand away from Mo Aini when they reached the school garden outside the building. "I don't know who you are, and all the things you said are just pure nonsense!"
"I know." Mo Aini's fake smile vanished, and he said this honestly. "But I can't let you go back to that girl again."
Despite looking like the weaker one of the two, he gathered up his strength to push Hu Chuntian to a wall!
"What in the— How dare you!?" Hu Chuntian struggled from his grasp. "What do you want from me? Why do you know my name?"
"Just listen for a minute." He took off his sunglasses. "My name is Mo Aini. I know everything about you, Hu Chuntian. I'm begging you to save my life."
"What?" Hu Chuntian knitted his eyebrows. "I'm not a doctor or the police. Go ask someone else to save your life."
"That girl is my sister, Mo Jiagei. No matter what, I CANNOT let you end up with her." Mo Aini said sincerely. "It would kill me."
"Kill you? Are you mentally unstable? What kind of nonsense are you spouting...." Hu Chuntian looked at Mo Aini's desperate eyes, and could tell that he was telling the truth. Or at least, he believes that it was the truth.
Then he came up with another interpretation for Mo Aini's words.
".....What do you mean with 'kill you'?" He asked, in a softer voice.
"I would die! My life would end!" Mo Aini said.
"Just from being with your sister?"
Mo Aini nodded furiously. "Yes! There's so many men in love with her right now, but she can't have you too! She likes delinquents like you, so I had to make you seem like the good guy so you wouldn't be her type!"
"How much do you know about me?" Hu Chuntian narrowed his eyes.
"I know that you are rumored of being a convict at 15! I know that you like spicy food and don't drink black coffee! I know that you put four spoonfuls of sugar in your drink! A-And...." Mo Aini racked his brain for other info in Hu Chuntian's bio. "And that you believe you were named springtime because all the best things come from spring."
Hu Chuntian blinked, his blue eyes widening at Mo Aini.
"You know.... that much?"
"Yeah!" Mo Aini nodded.
To this, Hu Chuntian laughed.
Mo Aini felt offended. (Bro, my life is on the line here and you're just laughing!?)
"Hahahaha, wait. What's your name again?" Hu Chuntian stifled his laughter.
"Mo Aini. Why?"
Hu Chuntian raised an eyebrow. "Is that your name or are you lying again?"
"It is! It is!" Mo Aini protested. "It was meant to sound like 'Wo Ai Ni', and my sister's name has the same pronunciation as the word for marriage, only with different characters."
"Why did your parents name you like that?" Hu Chuntian snorted.
"Because.... I was born with a plain face, and my mother thought that no girl would say 'I love you' to me, so they might as well just trick people into saying it." Mo Aini looked away, ears red. "And they're scared no one would marry my sister, so they named her like that to bring in good luck."
Hu Chuntian grinned. "Your parents are very cunning."
Mo Aini snorted. "I think they're just being pathetic."
"Is that how you're being too right now?" Hu Chuntian mocked. "Do you feel like you're being desperate and pathetic?"
"If desperate and pathetic is what you want me to be so you would leave my sister alone, so be it!" Mo Aini said defiantly. "I'll be desperate and pathetic for you!"
The reason he got here in the first place was because he was that desperate and pathetic for money.
"You really are something else." Hu Chuntian said. "Not just about anyone could slam me to a wall like this without getting their head busted."
"I have nothing to lose. You kill me, then I die. You become my sister's lover, then I die." Mo Aini said. "At this point, I would even prefer if you just kill me now. I've already been through so much pain and suffering."
If his sabotaging earlier did not work and Mo Jiagei's impression of Hu Chuntian is still high, he would rather commit seppuku than know how the system would make him 'perish'.
"So shameless of you to say such things...." Hu Chuntian cocked his head to the side. "Do you have no fear anymore? What people will think about you?"
"If people would think I'm weird, that's fine. They don't matter. " Mo Aini said. They're just mob character AIs following a script anyway, their opinion really doesn't matter to him anymore.
He looked at Hu Chuntian straight to the eye. "What matters is you and you only. I beg you. Please save me."
Hu Chuntian went quiet....
... before giving him a sad smile.
"Sorry, I don't like men."
