Chereads / QT: No to Bad Boys! Transmigrated as an Otome Side Character / Chapter 12 - Why Do People Always Think I'm Confessing to Them???

Chapter 12 - Why Do People Always Think I'm Confessing to Them???

"Huh???" Mo Aini's face scrunched up.

"I appreciate your boldness to confess, and I'm more amused of you knowing a lot about me rather than angry." Hu Chuntian's lips quirked up. "You're really that obsessed with me, aren't you? I guess it can't be helped."

"B-But...." Mo Aini felt like he was going to cough up blood.

(Bro, did you think I was gay!?)

"If you were a girl like your sister, I might have considered it." Hu Chuntian said. "You seem interesting enough that you would go such lengths to manipulate her thoughts about me."

Mo Aini could still not let Hu Chuntian slip even with this misunderstanding. He quipped: "You have so many rivals with her, why bother chase after her like everyone else?"

"I actually like the competition. I wanted to prove that I'm the best of the best." Hu Chuntian said. "Sorry for hurting your feelings, but I don't like it when people tell me what to do. I don't like you, and I'm going after you sister."

Hu Chuntian gently pushed him aside, and went back to the direction of the club booths. Mo Aini panicked and grabbed his hand.

"Wait, please!" Mo Aini yelled. "You don't understand, it really would kill me!"

"Do you really like me that much that you would end your life if you won't have me?" Hu Chuntian smiled at him apologetically. "You should value your life more, I'm sure there are other men out there that actually like men and would go for you."

Hu Chuntian became much nicer than he was before, did he really pity Mo Aini that much that he went a total flip of personality!?

Mo Aini really made an expression between a laugh and a cry. "But Hu Chuntian! I don't want to...."

Thunder boomed and it suddenly started to rain.

(The heck is this dramatic scenario out of some angsty BL manga!? I'm straight! Totally straight!)

"You don't want to let me go? Because you love me?" Hu Chuntian assumed. "I'm sorry, you would have to. If you don't, I might really push you away."

(I don't want to let you go because I don't want to die, stupid!)

Hu Chuntian's bad boy personality was breaking because of him. (Maybe he was just soft towards the desperate and pathetic type, but no matter! Let's use this to our advantage!)

(If he wants me to be gay, I'll be gay for him! I don't want to die!)

Mo Aini swallowed up all his pride and knelt to the dirty grassy field. He faked his cries, since it was raining and the raindrops could be mistaken as his tears. He made the most pitiful and heart-wrenching face he could muster, and said "Hu Chuntian, please. You are my world. I can't lose you to my sister."

The students who were holding umbrellas and walking watched this with interest, some even recording a video.

Hu Chuntian scowled. "What are you doing? Get up, right now."

But Mo Aini just hugged his thigh!

"Hu Chuntian, please! Don't chase after my sister! Chase after me instead!"

Mo Aini's face had now ascended a whole new level of thickness that cannot even be pierced by missiles.

"Let go! Hey!" Hu Chuntian shook his foot, but he didn't let go. "It's raining like crazy and my clothes are soaking wet! At least you have a hoodie, but think about me! I just dyed my hair! Let's go inside and stop this nonsense!"

"If I let you go, would you not go back to Mo Jiagei?" Mo Aini asked, eyes watery (from the rain).

"I just told you, you can't tell me what to do!" Hu Chuntian eventually kicked Mo Aini away and left.

Mo Aini was rejected and left alone in the rain by a guy he doesn't even like.

"Damn it. I thought it would work. All my acting skills got wasted." Mo Aini spat on the ground. "What does he think he is? So damn obnoxious and arrogant! I hope your 2D penis gets an erectile dysfunction. Blegh! He really thinks I like him, disgusting!"

The people who were watching and taking videos gaped their mouths in shock.

Mo Aini yelled at them. "What are you looking at!? Mind your own business!"

He headed for his dorm room, took a shower, and mopped the floors. He's in no mood to continue his classes, there's no point anyway.

Once he was finished, he wore white pajamas with an orange tabby cat pattern that reminded him too much of that annoying Tiger Emperor. He scowled at his shirt. "Fuck you, Hu Chuntian!"

The system's hologram screen showed up along with a beep.

[Mo Jiagei's Impression of Hu Chuntian.....]

Mo Aini swallowed a large amount of spit.

[70%]

[Possibility of Route Being Chosen: Very Likely]

"Goodbye, Mom! Goodbye, Dad!" Mo Aini saluted to the empty air. "Goodbye, my annoying little sister! Time for me to perish!"

He spread out his arms, ready to accept his fate of dying as a transmigrated side character in an otome game.

However, the system did not kill him.

It just said in an apathetic, robotic voice.

[Route Choosing will come soon. Please try your best to stop Hu Chuntian's route from being chosen.]

"Eh???" Mo Aini's eyes widened. "You're not gonna kill me yet?"

[User will only perish once Hu Chuntian's route is chosen.]

"So I still have a chance!?" Mo Aini rubbed his hands together. "But wait.... There's no point anymore. Everyone else is highly unlikely to be chosen by Mo Jiagei, and Hu Chuntian is very likely. Either way, I lose!"

[Please try your best. The Route Choosing will begin tomorrow.]

Then it went out. Mo Aini spent another sleepless night thinking of how he could possibly change his sister's mind.

-----------------

"Greetings, everyone! Welcome to the Theater Club, where dreams of stardom awaits!" Ma Jianyu greeted the members of the Theater Club on the stage.

Mo Aini sat on a monobloc chair, in his 'Untouchable Syndrome' disguise as Jie Taime.

"I would first like to thank all of you for choosing our noble organization. It is so inspiring to find young people pursue their passion in an art that was no longer as appreciated as before. Theater is the mother of all performing arts, yet at this present day of modern technology it had been slain by TV shows and on-screen movies—"

"Yeah, yeah, just tell us what we're going to do today!" Hu Chuntian yelled from the crowd.

The people mumbled in agreement, either not really liking Ma Jianyu's speech or too afraid to disagree with Hu Chuntian.

"Yeah, just get straight to the point!"

"I'm starving, so hurry up!"

"What's with the fancy get-up? Are we all going to dress like that?"

Ma Jianyu smiled sheepishly. "Settle down, people! I have prepared such a moving speech, but I now know that this modern, undignified times would not appreciate it."

He cleared his throat, "Today we will be holding an audition for a new musical that I have written. It's title...."

He gestured dramatically as a banner went down on the stage.

"The Song of the Mermaid Princess and the Vengeful Prince!"

He looked like he was waiting for people to clap, but no one did.

"Oh, come on! It's a fantasy musical!" Ma Jianyu cried. "Isn't it exciting? It's about a princess who has lost her kingdom and became a siren of the sea. But then she met a prince at the shore and offered to give him a wish. The prince also had a dark past, and wanted to take revenge on the kingdom that attacked his people. Yet the princess also loved the people of that kingdom, and she had to choose between her prince and that kingdom!"

"Who will judge the audition?" Shu Chuanli, who was also here, raised his hand up and asked. "Will it be you?"

"Of course not! That will be biased because I shall be auditioning for the role of the prince as well!" Ma Jianyu said.

"Then who will it be? And who will play as the princess?" Gou Manchu's tall redhead covered the view of most shorter people behind him.

"The new campus goddess!"

Everyone's eyes went on Mo Jiagei. She looked surprised despite being the obvious choice. "Me?"

"Ms. Jiagei had won several acting awards at her former academy, it only makes sense." She Haoran nodded, looking slick as ever. "But for the sake of democracy, let us go with a majority vote. Who agrees that Ms. Mo Jiagei should play the female lead?"

Everyone's hand went up except for Mo Aini.

"Then it is settled." She Haoran nodded. "I too, agree that—"

"Aren't you the student council president? Why are you joining the theater club!?" Mo Aini shouted unnoticed because of his face mask.

He pointed out the plothole out of pettiness for the system.

"I haven't won the election yet, so I am technically not the student council president. I am just the temporary head for three months, and free to join any clubs." She Haoran answered calmly.

"Then you can audition for one of the roles." Ma Jianyu nodded. "Anyone who is interested may try memorizing these songs. The audition will start this afternoon."

"That fast?" Shu Chuanli complained. "Don't you have an advantage because you are the scriptwriter?"

"Nay, there are no advantages here! If you are blessed by Lady Luck and the Fates, you will have the role no matter what!" Ma Jianyu said. "Let the battle begin!"
