I was in front of a coffee shop assessing if I will go inside or not. My attention went back and forth to the name and address that Frida gave me and the coffee shop. Since she have no time to check up on the token for the wedding, I volunteered to check the status but I didn't expect that it turns out like this. Is this the right shop? Why does the shop have a different name but it was the same address?
I kept on calling and texting Frida but she was not answering his phone. I'm slowly sweating whether this is the shop that my sister trying to say or not, though the weather is just moderate today, not too hot like the other day.
I heave a sighed. Maybe, I might just think that this is what the client want. This is supposed where Frida meet the client.
I stepped little by little going to the entrance. I was about to open the door but a guy just twice as fast as I could just open the door without any hesitation. I almost outbalance but I made myself go back to my track.
"Are you okay?" a guy with messy hair, wearing semi-formal attire with his black leather shoes said as if he hurried to go to this place.
"I'm okay," I said as I tried to smile.
"I'm sorry." After bowing his head, he straight went inside. I did also but I can't figure out what move I should do next. I went near to the staff and show him the name and address written on my phone.
"Is this the right place?" and I put back my phone in my pocket while roaming my eyes around the whole shop.
"You are in the right place. Just walk on the small hallway on this side," pointing at the way inwards before the counter itself. "In the end, there was an office. Just knock on the door."
"Thank you," I mumbled as I followed what the stuff explained. It was a narrow way, enough for two people to walk until I reach the end, I came to see a colour cream door and knocked on it then I open the door. I saw a man sitting in a chair while doing something with his laptop.
I felt nervous and praying for enough confidence for the sake of my sister. "Hello, good morning!"
I caught the guy's attention and glanced at me. "Come in, how may I help you?"
"I'm looking for Cobygy Montes on behalf of my sister, Frida Madrigal," I stated and stepped my feet going inside. The guy stood up and that's when I saw his whole face. He looks not full-blooded based on his physical features that seems familiar. Even his smile was pure.
"Have a seat!" he offered as he get his laptop and sat on another chair. "Wait for Cobygy." He got on back to what he's doing.
After a minute, a guy went in came from the other door. I looked at her intently and I came to realize that he was the boy earlier.
"So, you are the girl earlier, right?" I nodded. "What brings you here?"
"I'm looking for Cobygy Montes. Do you happen to know him?" I asked but I received a chuckle from the guy while the other guy was busy on his laptop.
"I'm Cobygy but you can call me Coby and you are?" he extends his hands to offer to shake hands and gladly accepted it.
"I'm Andrea Madrigal. I'm here for my sister, Frida about the status of her order," I muttered as I force myself to become professional. Based on his reaction, he seems so amused with the way I talked to him.
"I didn't know that she has a gorgeous sister," he stated as a compliment but for me, it sounds bluffing. He smiled flashing his teeth at me. "Anyway, this is Calvin, my friend," introducing the busy guy.
After getting the files on his desk, he showed me the design. Since the theme of the wedding change into a garden wedding, there are a lot of adjustments. He showed me the sample design and I like it but I need to consult Frida if she likes it.
"It was something looks so valuable and not a waste of money," Frida decided over the phone when she picked up my call.
The conversation didn't take long and I immediately said goodbye to Cobygy and Calvin but to my great surprise when I opened the door, Sheldon's face came into the view. There was a trace of shock in the two of us because we both did not expect that we would meet in such a situation.
"Do you know each other?" Cobygy asked innocently but in his tone of voice, he was saying something that only the of them knows. My attention went back and forth when Cobygy went near us and Sheldon who is in front of me because they have their world that boys can only understand.
"Stop," Calvin called out not living his attention to his laptop. I wonder what he was doing. "Let your cousin do it on his own."
"Shut up, will you?" Sheldon let out and looked at me feeling sorry.
I got curious about what they are talking about and have no idea and I was like an innocent long lost puppy but I don't want my curiosity to consume me so I decided to leave.
"See you." And I started to step to where I walked earlier. After I got out of the coffee shop, I stopped by at the nearest mall where I can meet the wedding coordinator and went straight to the dessert shop.
I saw Asher in one of the tables busy on his phone but I chose to sit on the vacant spot distance to him after ordering a snack. Minutes had passed, the wedding coordinator entered named Angie.
We just discussed Frida's weddings about the progress. According to her, she will be taking care of the last-minute details, improving the set and making sure there are things not missing out.
I know that in my age and status of my awareness, I can't fully understand what she's trying to say that's why I took note of every detail for the wedding and just handed it to Frida but for the sake of my sister, I'm more than willing to do it.
"My sister will just contact you regarding the changes but I'll just present or inform her and she will be the one to decide because it was her wedding," I concluded.
"Yes. Knowing Frida," Angie agreed to me and handed me a copy of the changes. My eyes widen when I came to realize that I wrote down the details and there was a copy of it. I looked at Angie and the paper she's giving to me back and forth. I sighed. Why she didn't tell me? Well, it's my fault in the first place. I didn't ask. What a fail!
"I have to go. I still have a client to meet," she said and I nodded. She put in her bag her copy and walked away.
I started to eat my snacks alone. This kind of works, I find it exhausting. I'm just a mere sister of a bride, how much more if you'll be the one to be the bride?
I drowning myself from eating while reading a story in my library on my phone when a notification popped and my attention diverted.
From unknown number:
Do you have things to do after your snacks?
I frowned when I read the message but the number was familiar. I went to my call history and I found a number similar to the number I just received in my inbox. I tried to check on the details and that's when I remembered the day when Asher called me.
I composed myself from appearing what had happened that day. I felt my blood run through my veins going to my face made it look a crimson red.
It took me a minute to decide if I will compose a word. I looked in his direction and when he noticed my gaze, he waved his phone as if telling me to see his message. I smiled at his sweet gesture.
To unknown number:
I have someone to talk to then I'm good to go.
I entered his number on my contact list and change his name. I was happy that we are exchanging messages. It seems like yesterday that I'm still wishing to have his phone number and messaged him. It seems surreal.
I looked in his direction but no trace of him, only a phone on top of the table.
"Hello, miss!" an unfamiliar voice approached me. I looked at the girl in front of me and I was mesmerized by her beauty, a typical beauty of a Filipina. "Andrea Madrigal, Frida's sister?"
"Yes, I am."
"I will not stay longer. I still have errands to do and it's urgent. I'm sorry. I'll just drop by because Frida told me so and it happens that I was nearby," she explained and introduced herself. Her name was Desiree, a good name suit to her.
"Have a seat," I offered her.
"No need. I just came to drop by this box that Frida ordered." And she handed over the box to me.
"Thanks," I said as I check the box. I heard a beep coming from her phone.
"I'm sorry. I have to go," she said and bowed his head like a Korean traditional greeting before leaving.
So, I do not need to went to her office and it was advantageous on my part. I sighed as I took one last glance at the box and put it in my bag.
I decided to stay longer in the shop hoping that the owner won't get mad. I reached for my phone and continued reading the novel I'm currently reading.
Reading became my escape. It brings me to another dimension of the world and I feel like I was living in the world of the author where I'm just a spectator who doesn't need to live so hopelessly. I feel like I'm in a world where no one can judge my role.
My attention came back from reality when a slice of cake was put in front of me. I put down my phone and lifted my head seeing Asher who did it but I didn't order anything. I flashed a smile and I started daydreaming that there was a plot like this, a boy has feelings for a girl and wanted to become sweet so he wanted to give the cake that symbolizes his sweet love. I feel like I was the girl.
But I came to realize that I wasn't. I shook my head to keep away my thoughts.
"Are you okay?" I heard Asher asked me but I was focused on letting my thoughts away. "Are you okay? Is your head okay?"
I moaned. "Yeah, I'm okay." I gave him a genuine smile as my assurance about my crazy thoughts.
