Chapter 16 - Sixteen

"We have to move Winnie Maurice to another position" Elba said. He raised his hands as his men forcefully cut open the handcuffs.

"Can you make it a bit faster" he said tapping the driver.

"They'll suspect us specially in this critical time" the driver replied. At this Elba got annoyed and knocked him unconscious. Quick as a cat, he pushed him out of the driver's seat and took over the control of the car. They avoided like eight ghastly accidents due to the nature of their speed.

"Boss, we have to slow down, we're nearing the police checkpoint. Elba seemed not to listen. Rather, he even increased the pressure on his foot which jolted the car forward.

He zoomed past the police checkpoint thus leaving the cops there dazed by the nature of their speed.

"Are we going to let them go like that?"

"I think they need a chase"

"Yeah, let's give them one" . They rushed into the Pathfinder jeep parked nearby and gave them a hot chase.

"Sir they're giving us a chase" one of his men said. Elba looked at the rearview mirror and it was true. He increased the speed of the car as he diverged between streets to confuse the police. He parked at one street and hopped down from the car.

"Go to site and protect her. I'm coming"

"Alright"

He ran towards his newly built house at the end of the street. He banged at the gate calling upon the gate-man's attention to open the gate but to no avail. Using his acrobatics skills , he flipped and jumped over the gate and landed on his feet, firm . There was no time to waste now. He ran into him room and to his utmost surprise, his room was in a total mess. He ran towards his wardrobe where the evidences were. Pushing a section of the hangers, the placed his palm on the wall. It scanned his finger print and shone a green light. The wall divided into two thus revealing a carefully placed laptop. He carried the laptop and ran out his house.

"Hey can I use your bike?" he asked holding the motorcyclist.

"I'm sorry no" the man said

"I wasn't asking" Elba replied. He pushed the old man off the bike and hopped on it.

"Wait!" the man screamed but Elba had gone far.

"What's happening" Detective Rod asked as he came towards the scene. This was the car they were tracking.

"Over speeding" Wane replied.

"How intriguing" he muttered as he recognized their faces.

"Any problem?" Wane asked

"Lots, but they're linked to the kidnapping of Winnie Maurice" . He walked towards one of the men who was Elba's right hand.

"Where's your boss?" he asked holding him tightly as to suffocate him. He was hand cuffed so he couldn't defend himself. He just moped at him. Detective Rod knew that this wasn't the best time for torture.

"Bind them and put them on the car" Wane said.

"Yes sir" they all replied. Rod's phone began to ring. It was his good friend, Yumo.

"Hey Yumo, how can I help you" he asked.

"Elba Jerry stole my motorbike. I've been calling him to return it but he blocked my number instead"

"Wait like.."

"He pushed me off my bike and drove away with it. I need you to find it!" Detective Rod nodded his head in appreciation. He was getting it now.

"Email me the particulars of your motorbike. And do it now! "

"What is it? " Wane asked.

"I know where Elba is. Tell my men I need backup" he said as he entered his car and zoomed out of the scene.

★★★. ★★★. ★★★

Elba pushed open the wooden door guarding the warehouse. He typed the password on the wall as it split open and he entered inside. This led to a hallway containing complex cells n each side. He walked briskly to Winnie's cell but she wasn't there. His heart skipped a beat. He turned on his phone torch to see the shadow inside there. To his greatest surprise, it was Moses.

He felt the adrenaline urge to run but he still stood there gazing at Moses. So many questions came to his mind at once. How did Moses get here? How did he gain entrance? Is it that Winnie is safe now? . But the answer was obvious on his face. Blood in form of tears flowed freely down his cheeks. On his hand was a katana which he held firmly. He raised his face and stared at him. Eyeball to eyeball. This stare was deadly.

"I'll promise you something "

"What?" Elba said as he drew out his long katana from its sheath.

" This blade must be red with your blood" he said as he held the katana towards him. In an instant, he threw some knives at Moses. To his greatest shock, Moses was no longer there. He looked round. No trace of him. They were playing a game of hide and seek now. He paused thus falling into a deep thought. If he were Moses, where would he hide. He looked up at the roofing. He wasn't there. A flashy rectangular mirror like metal was placed on his neck. Anymore move, he would be a dead man.

"You have barely a minute to tell me where she is .."

"Or what!" Elba shouted.

"You'll meet your ancestors" He studied Moses's position and strategically, freed himself and kicked Moses on the stomach. He got up quickly and their swords clashed.

"Where is she!"

"I won't tell you" . He aimed for his head and other parts of his body but he missed periodically as Elba skillfully used his sword to block his aims. Moses, by chance used to sword to scratch his face as blood drooled from the injury.

"I never fail my promises. This sword must be red with your blood." Elba cleaned his face again but it was of no use as blood still flowed down freely.

"And I say again! this sword must be red with your blood!! " Moses screamed as he launched an attack at Elba.

"SSS!!, surrender now!" Detective Rod shouted. Behind him were troops of policemen, armed to the teeth. Almost immediately, assassins in their dozens, jumped down from the ceiling and assembled behind Elba. Moses understood the initiative and walked towards Detective Rod

"Cool, you brought friends" Elba said as an assassin cleaned the blood on his face with a tissue.

"Last chance! where is she" . Elba and the assassins chuckled together thus giving the area a beam of evil laughter.

"How about we fight first" he replied. This enraged Moses as he ran towards Elba. The police followed him, so did the assassins. The result was an open battle between the police and the assassins with the police gaining the upper hand
