Chapter 8 - Grudging Electric Connection

Evan's Pov

"You fucking Bitch" I muttered coldly, pouring all of the aggression and frustration I'd felt this past week into those words

"I know that, you A-hole" she said while looking down on me. Which was weird because I was more than a few inches over her in height but why did it feel like it was the other way around

I shoved aside those thoughts as I remembered the things she'd put me through and the promise I'd made to get revenge. My whole body began vibrating with the intensity of the emotions I was feeling... most of which were anger

"What the hell were you thinking?" I screamed at her

"I saw a bastard that needed to be taught a quick lesson and I gave him one" she said squeezing the sleeve of her shirt that had gotten wet. which reminded me of what she'd just done

"And now you almost broke my skull!" I added, ignoring the pain I felt in my head from screaming

"Because the same bastard needed to be taught a quick lesson of not touching my things!" She yelled back

"I'm going to kill you" I said and moved closer to her. I didn't know what I was going to do to her but I moved forward anyway

"Woah, easy there champ..." she immediately placed her hand in front of her to stop my advance before she added "...you ain't gonna do Jack. Don't come any closer if you don't want to get hurt" She said with a scowl before finally shoving me away

I stumbled backwards but regained my balance enough to come rushing back to her with my hand raised to give her a slap. She'd also clenched her hands, ready to deliver a gut punch to me as I moved to her

"Evan, what are you trying to do?" I heard my dad yell. We both paused to look at him. He'd just arrived and had barely parked the car properly. He matched towards us and placed himself between the girl and I, giving me an intense look

He spoke again before I could even answer his questions

"Were you about to hit a defenceless girl!"He exclaimed. He had clearly not seen that the so-called defenceless girl had been just as ready as I was for a fight

"It's okay, Mr Calman. I can take care of myself" she said with a frown and I almost yelled a thank you to her.

"No! I'll not have my son go about hitting ladies" my dad turned around to look at her

"This is your son?" she asked pointing to me

"Yes, this is Evan" my dad replied

"I'm sorry for you misfortune" she said looking at me with open disgust

"Yeah, me too" My dad said with a sigh

I stood there, silently watching them converse with each other like I wasn't even present but my dad suddenly turned to me again

"And I never raised you to look for trouble with females" he pointed at me in accusation

"You've just concluded that I'm the one at fault without even asking me?" I was beyond shocked

"Yes because I know you and I know Dani doesn't go around looking for trouble" My dad challenged. I noticed that Dani gave another little frown after he spoke but I didn't know what it was for?

"Well you're wrong because Dani was the first one to smash open my head with that darn metal bucket she's holding" I retorted.

My dad spurn around to look at Dani, after confirming with his eyes that she was indeed holding the bucket, he spoke again

"Is that true?" he asked her. why the hell did he keep asking her for confirmation?

"Yes, Mr Calman" She said simply

"Why?"

"He tried to slash my tires" She explained.

My dad let out a shocked gasp and rushed to look at the bike. Clearly, the bike's safety was more important to him than the conversation we were having. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw that the bike was still in good condition.

"Why would you even think to harm such a beautiful bike?" He asked as he walked back to face me

"Because this was the bike that caused my accident and she said was the one that rode it over my feet. And you'd know that if you would just stop taking her side for five minutes!" I yelled utterly frustrated with them. At this point everyone that passed by had paused to look at us

"What else do you expect? And Dani, did you really do that?" he asked her.

She gave yet another small frown before she answered. what was that about?

"Yes and Mr Calman, my name's Demi" My dad's jaw dropped as soon as she said that. No wonder she kept frowning when called her dani

The name she mentioned sounded really familiar but I couldn't point out what was peculiar about it. I paused my thoughts and focused back on their conversation

"Oh? I'm sorry about that" My dad rushed out before adding "But Demi why did you do that?"

"He was on the road?" she replied sounding unsure

"okay" my dad said

"Is that really all your going to say, dad? She nearly crippled me" I asked bewildered by his action

"What else do you want me to say, Evan?" He asked me

When I just gave him a silent angry stare in response, he sighed and turned to Demi.

"Demi, could you take your bike and go in. I'll speak to you later, okay?" He told her

She looked like she was going to protest instantly but then she paused and gave a stiff nod. She walked to her bike and rolled it to the back of crazy Gracie's house.

Even though I was still mad at her, I couldn't stop myself from admiring her backside as she walked away. I came to the instant conclusion that crazy Gracie's niece was hot even though she was just as or maybe more psycho than her aunt.

But I had to admit that her appearance fit perfectly with the voice I was accustomed to hearing. It also had the same strange effect on me.

Her hair looked like pure silk despite the pony tail they tied in, her brown eyes had looked as like blazing fire in their angry state and even as she stomped away pushing her bike beside her, her hips were still doing their magic. Damn!

"hmmhmm" I heard my dad clear his throat from behind he and that brought me back to the present

"What?" I asked defensively

"Let's go in" he said and moved to our house

I tried to ignore the slight pain that I felt as we walked back in but I could not stop the sigh of relief I let out when I sat on our living room couch

My dad and I sat, staring at each other with out saying a word for a long time before we both muttered simultaneously

"Don't do anything to her" my dad said

"I'm gonna make her pay" I said

"You'll do no such thing!" he commanded

"I promise, I will"

"Evan, don't even go close to her"

"I'll do worse than that" I replied as a matter of fact

"What's the matter with you? I know I didn't raise you like this" he said looking at me with disapproval but I was beyond caring at this point. This girl had hurt me physically and also damaged my pride twice in a role. I wasn't about to let that go

"Dad, all I want is revenge. Is that to much to ask?" I asked

"Yes it is because you want to cause harm to her and I'm not going to have it!" he yelled

"There's nothing you can do about it, dad" I with a shrug

"Don't be so sure about that boy" My dad replied

"Excuse me?" He said in confusion

"You want to go to college right?" He randomly asked

"Yes?" I replied not sure of were he was going with that

"Then make sure a single hair on her head isn't harmed" My dad said

"You can't be serious" I exclaimed

"I'm as serious as a cardiac arrest, son" My dad replied sounding really calm since he had gotten control of the situation

"Let's get this right, you're saying that you'd deny me, your only child, a college education because of some random girl you just met this week?" I asked him feeling my anger towards Demi grow

"This isn't all about Demi, this is about getting you to do the right thing" he said before he stood from the couch and walked away

I stared at him in disbelief as he walked away.

"Don't loose it Evan" I said to myself as I fought the intense urge to walk over to Gracie's house and finish the fight with Demi that my father interrupted

I knew my father was a man of his words, he would do as he threatened if I made that mistake. so I decided to bid my time and instead marched to my room.

"You'll think of something" I whispered to myself again as I entered my room

"That fucking Bitch" I cursed again as her face came to mind.

My brain that captured every single inch of her body and hadn't stopped showing me images of it. Images that I'd rather forget because of the oddly calming effect they had on me.

I didn't want to be calm. I wanted to be raging mad at the girl that was currently ruining my life and also causing a rift between my dad and I. I didn't want my mind to show me images or make me feel sensations of how good it would feel to have her in my arms

"Damn you, Demi" I whispered her name aloud for the first time.

"Demi" I whispered again remembering the familiarity I felt had towards the name earlier, bit once again I couldn't remember where I had heard the name from

"Demi?" I said again willing my brain to remember as I paced around my room slowing

And just as if I had hit play to a video, I heard Lucas' voice say in my head

"Her name's Demi, in case any one was wondering" the story my friends had told about a girl named Demi beating up my girlfriend in school came back to my mind

"That Fucking bitch" I whispered again for the... I had lost count of how many times I had said that since I've met this girl called Demi

I moved closer to my bed and saw the picture I had drawn earlier still on my night stand. I picked it up and considered it for a few seconds

"Might as well" I said with a shrug before I sat on the bed.

I placed the drawing on my legs and picked up my drawing materials. I went to work on the picture

After a few minutes of work I sat back and grudgingly admired the results. The extra details and curves I had added to the picture made it seem real. Like I was staring at the crazy bitch.

"I'll have to come up with a way to deal with you" I tapped the picture as I spoke to it. I began plotting as I stared at the picture

"Your right Mr Calman" I heard a familiar chuckle follow the whisper that that came in from my window. I didn't have to be told that my dad was once gain talking to Demi.

I heard her say some more things to my but what she was said was lost to me. Even though I couldn't hear a word of what she said, the melody of her voice still had the same electrical effect on me and I caught myself straining to hear what she was saying

Sure, you're really going to "deal" with her, I heard my subconscious say to me in mockery for the first time

"Damn, you Demi" I whispered before putting on my head phones and blasting the loudest volume. I laid in bed and mentally prepared myself for school tomorrow

"Bitch" I couldn't stop myself from cursing one last time when I felt a dull ache start at the back back of my head as sleep took over
