"Boruto (Bolt)"
"I'm going now, Hinata." Naruto waved goodbye to his wife. Hinata nodded as a response to him. She stared at his back as he was walking away.
Hinata got her off from work and Naruto got a new mission together with his former teammates Sakura and Sai. After the war, Naruto barely went on missions together with them as they were working different jobs now. Sakura was working mostly at the hospital and Sai as part of the investigating team.
Hinata was left all alone in the house and she decided to clean it all by herself.
"It feels like I am a full-time housewife now." She murmured. She started cleaning in the living room, next was the kitchen and dining room and lastly was the bedroom.
She was sweating badly after finishing her work. She cooked for lunch and ate just for herself. After a while, a knock on the door interrupted her from meditating. She approached the doorway and opened the door and soon revealed to be Hanabi carrying a basket of flowers. Hinata smiled upon seeing her younger sister and switched her gaze to the flowers.
"Hanabi, come in," she told her. Hanabi entered the house with a smile on her lips. She dropped the basket on the table and looked around the house. It was her first time getting into her sister's house after marrying Naruto.
"Looks like you had just finished cleaning," Hanabi commented.
"Yeah," Hinata replied while she was holding a vase in her hand.
"I see. Where's big brother Naruto by the way?" she asked upon settling down.
"He has a mission and it is my off today." She replied not looking at her instead focused her attention on the flowers.
"You seem to be so lonely here," Hanabi muttered. Hinata did not respond.
"Where did you get these flowers?" Hinata asked her younger sister.
"From our garden," Hanabi replied. Hinata furrowed her eyebrows.
"Did you grow them? I haven't seen such flowers in the garden back then." Hinata said still had her forehead wrinkled.
"How long have you been away from home? 7 months? 8 months?" Hanabi said rolling her eyes.
It has been 8 months after Hinata married the man of her dreams and becoming his wife.
"Time flies fast, indeed," Hinata said with a sweet smile on her lips. After putting the flowers on the vase, Hinata went back to the kitchen and got Hanabi a tea.
"Thank you," Hanabi muttered upon receiving the cup of tea.
"How was father doing?" Hinata asked.
"Well, as usual, he is much involved in the clan's issues and business," Hanabi replied. Hinata nodded as a response to her.
"Glad to hear that he is doing just fine," Hinata said with a relieved expression.
Even though she had been through a lot from her father when she was young, Hinata did not take them as resentment against him instead she served those criticisms as a motivation to work hard for the sake of improving herself. She always dreamt of becoming someone strong like her father.
"You look like you have already used to be big brother Naruto's wife." Hanabi teased her.
"I should be. It's been 8 months since the wedding happened." Hinata snorted.
"So you got something inside then?" Hanabi said pointing at her belly. Hinata was surprised by Hanabi's question. She was asking if she is already pregnant.
Hinata's face turned a little red and she then looked away.
"What does it mean?" Hanabi bluntly asked.
"Don't tell me..." she added. Hinata shook her head.
"Huh?" Hanabi snapped.
"I don't feel anything unusual at the moment," Hinata said.
"What was he doing for 8 months?" Hanabi retorted.
"Naruto was quite busy on his missions." Hinata defended.
"That's not an excuse," Hanabi said and took a sip from her tea.
Hinata was confused about what Hanabi had said.
'So I should get pregnant by now." She thought.
"Don't be feeling so down elder sister. I was just teasing you. Big brother Naruto must be waiting for the perfect timing." Hanabi said and winked at her. Hinata smiled bitterly. She wanted to have kids herself and so did Naruto.
'Maybe it is not the right time yet.' She thought.
The two of them talked about other things after. Hanabi waved goodbye to her. She was worried that Hiashi might be looking for her because she did not tell him about visiting her sister.
Hinata got back inside and sat on the sofa staring at the vase. There were sunflowers in front of her. A few minutes later, she went to her little garden. There were different kinds of flowers planted in it. She picked her favorite one, the white lily. She then put them on a vase and went outside.
"Brother Neji, how are you? Well, I bring you flowers." She said after putting the vase beside Neji's grave. She stared at it for a while then touched her cousin's grave commemorating her memories of him and the events that happened during the time when he sacrificed his own life to save her and Naruto. She stood up still looking at his grave. She caressed her belly.
"Boruto, huh?" she murmured.
Before leaving, she also brought Kushina and Minato flowers. She bowed her head as a sign of respect to her late in-laws. After offering them a prayer, Hinata walked her way home.
She looked at the orange sky reminding her of her husband who was on his mission.
"I hope Naruto's doing fine." She murmured.
"Hinata!" a voice called her from behind.
"Ino! Tenten!" She said upon seeing her friends waving at her.
"Where have you been?" Ino asked.
"I visited brother Neji." She replied.
"I see," Ino responded.
"We haven't gone to see Neji for a while now," Tenten muttered. Hinata just smiled at her.
"Where are you guys up to?" Hinata asked.
"I bumped into Ino when I was looking for flowers for my shop. I find it interesting to have something new besides my dearest weapons." Tenten replied.
"And then we saw you," Ino added.
"Let's have tea," Tenten suggested. The two nodded in agreement. They settled on the nearest tea shop.
"How was being a married woman?" Ino started.
Hinata had her calm and gentle expression. The two were staring at her waiting for her answer.
"It's fine for now. I found it challenging sometimes." Hinata answered.
"I think it's really hard living alone sometimes because Naruto is on missions just like now. I have heard from Sakura that they have a mission together with Sai too." Ino said. Hinata nodded.
"Well, speaking of Sai..." Tenten muttered.
"I have heard you are going out with him, Ino." Tenten added. Ino blushed upon hearing her statement.
"Y-Yeah." She stuttered. Hinata just smiled at her reaction.
"Aren't you talking about marriage yet?" Tenten asked.
"Hmm..." Ino murmured.
"You have been hanging out for a long time now Ino. I guess you have planned on settling down too." Hinata commented.
"Well as you have guessed, Sai asked me to marry him and I said yes," Ino revealed.
The two were left in awe. They got their jaws dropped at her revelation. Tenten clapped her hands in amazement and Hinata was so happy hearing the news.
"But Tenten, have you got a boyfriend already?" Ino asked.
"Umm.. Yeah, I haven't seen you hang out with boys." Hinata added. Tenten was so embarrassed.
"I don't plan on getting one," Tenten replied losing all the enthusiasm she had a while ago. Hinata and Ino laughed at her poor reaction.
"Got Shikamaru and Temari's invitation already?" Ino interrupted. Hinata and Tenten wrinkled their foreheads.
"Don't tell us..."Hinata muttered. Ino nodded.
Shikamaru and Temari were getting married very soon. They were so happy to hear the news. Hinata realized that she and her friends were getting into adulthood getting assurance of having their own cherished families.
"Hinata? I'm home." Naruto greeted. Naruto was confused as to why Hinata was not responding to his call.
"Hinata?" he called again, still there was no answer. He looked around the house.
'Where did she go?' he thought.
He went to the bedroom, but there was no sign of Hinata in there.
"Hinata?!" Hinata where are you?" Naruto started to have tantrums. He could not find his wife. He was not used to becoming home without Hinata greeting him. Hinata was always around.
He went to the backyard and there he found her. She was busy gardening.
"Hinata!" he called for her. Hinata turned her back upon hearing his voice. When he saw her face, he started to calm down. He was relieved.
"Naruto?" she was astounded.
"I'm home." He said in a bitter-sweet tone.
"Welcome home, dear." She rushed towards him and gave him a tight hug. After 3 days of being apart, they got to be in each other's arms again.
"Were you feeling lonely?" Naruto asked in a soft voice.
"Yes. I were." She replied. They went inside and she prepared him a snack.
"How was your mission?" Hinata asked him.
"Well, it went well," Naruto replied while munching on his food.
"I see," Hinata muttered.
A month later and Shikamaru and Temari's wedding day came. Everyone was so happy for the both of them. Temari has now moved to the Nara Clan. Another month had passed and Choji and Karui's wedding was celebrated. Soon after, Ino and Sai made their vows for each other. Sakura was reportedly gone on a mission with Sasuke and they traveled together. All of their friends had started the new chapter of their lives.
"Hinata, are you okay?" Naruto was worried. Hinata was having nausea for the past 3 days. She was vomiting mostly in the morning.
"I think I need to get enough rest." She said to relieve Naruto's worrying state.
"Don't you think we need to consult a doctor?" Naruto suggested.
"I'm worried sick about you. You are having nausea for 3 days now." Naruto added.
Hinata agreed to go to the doctor. She was worried too. They went to see the doctor and from there Hinata was asked some questions and later on, they figured out that...
"Hi-Hinata is pregnant?" Naruto was surprised. He could not believe what the doctor said that needs to repeat it.
The doctor nodded as a confirmation.
"Hinata, did you hear that? I am a father now." Naruto was so happy after hearing the doctor's statement confirming that Hinata was pregnant.
Hinata was so happy about the news too. She was soon to be a mother. She was so overwhelmed to see Naruto overjoyed by the gift they had received. The doctor told them some things to remember for Hinata's pregnancy.
It's not just Naruto who was overjoyed by the news, also the whole Hyuga Clan celebrated and Hiashi was so delighted to hear that he was going to be a grandfather soon. Their friends were happy as well. Naruto did take care of Hinata. He never leaves her side. If he was going on a mission, he let her stay with the Hyugas or asked Hanabi to look after her sister.
"Naruto and Hinata are going to have a child?" Kakashi asked Shizune to confirm it.
"Yes, everyone is celebrating," Shizune replied.
"I think we need to get a present for the child," Kakashi muttered.
"Lord Sixth, I think it's so soon for that," Shizune remarked while scratching the back of her head.
A few months later and Hinata's belly was getting bigger. Naruto was assisting her and was always by her side. Hinata was watching her husband sleeping on her lap. Naruto was talking to the baby inside Hinata's belly before he fell asleep. She was caressing his hair. Naruto kept sleeping peacefully on her lap. Hinata could not explain the joy she was feeling at the moment.
'I am so happy. I could not ask for more." She thought.
A grain of tear fell on her cheek. She was just a shy and unconfident girl back then who admires Naruto from afar and now, she got to watch him sleep on her lap.
"Naruto..." she murmured.
"Naruto, my belly... I..." Hinata blurted. She was in pain. Naruto who was in a panic mode did not know what to do.
"Hey Hinata, what should I do?" he asked with his hands shaking.
"I think the baby is coming out," Hinata said.
"WHAT?!" Naruto yelled. Hinata was still in pain.
'Mother! Father! Help me! What am I supposed to do?' He asked for help in his mind.
'Calm down Naruto and think...' he scolded himself.
"Alright Hinata..." he blurted. Hinata was interrupted. She stared at him. Without saying anything, Naruto carried her.
"Well, let's go to the hospital." He declared.
"In this state?" Hinata was worried that something unexpected might happen.
"Just trust me, you know." He told her. His words were full assurance. There was no other way, it will take them long to ask for an emergency vehicle to carry Hinata to the hospital. That was the only plan he had come up to.
He left Hinata no choice but to agree with him. She could not take the pain anymore. He carried her and ran as fast as he could. In a distance, he saw the emergency vehicle approaching them.
"That's..." he muttered in confusion. He saw Hinata holding her belly and trying to suppress the pain.
"Naruto, get Hinata inside." It was Kiba.
"Kiba, you..." Naruto muttered.
"Let's talk later, secure Hinata's condition," Kiba said and Naruto immediately put Hinata on the stretcher.
"Kiba thank you, but how did you know Hinata's about to—" Kiba interrupted him.
"I saw you running while carrying her I have guessed she is in labor, so I called the hospital," Kiba explained.
"You are a lifesaver." Naruto was so grateful to him.
"Heh." Kiba snorted and rubbed his nose.
Upon their arrival, Hinata was sent immediately to the delivery room and the two men were left outside.
"Calm down Naruto. She will be fine. Hinata is strong." Kiba was trying to calm his friend.
"I know, but I can't help myself from worrying." He replied still worried about his wife and child.
After an hour, the doctor got out of the room. He congratulated Naruto for having a strong and healthy baby boy. He was called by the nurse and he entered the room. He saw Hinata lying on the bed sleeping. The baby was carried by the nurse. The nurse approached him and hands over the baby, he was sleeping. He got his father's hair color and he has whiskers on his cheeks.
Naruto could not help himself but cry. He cried out of the overwhelming feeling he had on his chest. The nurse left them and Naruto moved closer to Hinata. He could not keep his eyes off of his son. He was genuinely happy.
Hinata got her consciousness back. The first thing she saw upon opening her eyes was Naruto holding their child.
"Naruto..." she murmured. Naruto switched his gaze from their child to her.
"Hinata! Look, our son." Naruto cheerfully told her. She smiled.
Naruto sat beside her still carrying their son. Hinata slowly got up and leaned her back on the pillow behind her back. She saw him with Naruto's hair. She was so happy.
"Hinata, he looks exactly like you," Naruto told her. She was surprised.
"Really?" she asked. Naruto nodded.
"What do you want to name him?" Naruto asked. Hinata gazed at Naruto and they looked at each other.
"I was thinking of it over and over again..." Hinata said. Naruto was just staring at her.
"I want to name him Boruto," Hinata added.
"Boruto, huh? It's a nice name." Naruto commented.
"Really?" Hinata asked in amazement. Naruto nodded as a response.
"Let's call him Boruto from now." Naruto declared.
Hinata smiled at him. They both stared at the sleeping child. They looked so happy together.
'Boruto...he will be making his own story...'
