Even with the blessing bestowed by Bados helping to speed-up the recovery process, Rapt was still in a coma. This was due to the rebirthing process being difficult for both the body and soul.
Especially when the density and potency of one's soul surpassed a certain level. Rapt's new body and mind is a blank template that has to adapt to his new attributes leading to an increased recovery time.
What contributed the most to the increased time were the constant changes happening to his mind and body.
Another factor was that the remnants of consciousness needed to be stripped from the souls leaving only raw information behind. His soul would then consume the remnants for energy before processing the information he gained from them.
Due to the vast number of souls absorbed, majority of the time stripping the souls. Afterwards, his soul began to process the intact portions of the knowledge, memories, and the instincts it had absorbed.
This was followed by the processing incomplete portions of information left by damaged souls. The redundant and incomplete information would be consumed by the soul to further fuel it's growth. Finally, after the absorption all of the souls came the final process of solidification.
With the soul solidification underway, Rapt finally woke from the coma after three weeks of recovering. The first thing the little raptor did was stand up to gather it's bearing and taking in its environment. Once he had finish acclimating himself to his surrounding, he started walking around to familiarize himself with his body. During this time, he slowly became accustomed to his body before starting to explore the environment around him. While Rapt was continued to explore, a strange event began to occur causing his instincts flare making the Raptor immediately seek shelter.
The strange event was a shift in the environment starting with the immergence of different animals popping into existence from nothing. From the cave he found, Rapt could sense everything occurring in a radius of 5 meters around him. It was thanks to this that he could sense the animals that popped up with in this radius. These strange phenomena confused the young raptor and sparked his curiosity, leading to it rushing to the closest of the anomalies.
Following his instincts led to find a creature that upon seeing him being to run off in the distance. As the creature turned to run, Rapt instincts flared again pushing him to chase after the creature.
As Rapt chased the creature, more strange creatures appeared with the range of his senses. This change led to him losing focus on the creature he was chasing. Turning his attention of the many different groups animals that randomly began appearing in the range of his senses. During this instance, he instinctively began to stealthy creep towards one of the smaller groups. Upon his arrival, he gained more insight on the things he was sensing. Looking at the group of creatures, he sensed that they weren't dangerous or a threat but perfect for food.
Focusing on the animals in front of him began to stir his hunger. With his hunger stirred, his latent predatory instincts and the hunt began. All of Rapt's senses were tuned in on his prey relaying any information it could find. Unbeknownst to Rapt, the extreme focus had triggered the fight or flight response in all the nearby animals causing all of them to flee in panic. Stalking towards the group, silence had taken over his immediate surroundings as most animal noticed that whatever animal was causing this phenomenon wasn't hunting them. All the animals except for his prey as he subconsciously used his killing intent to push other animals away from his hunt.
The raptor stalked through the grass closing in before arriving 2 meters away from the group. Following its instincts, the raptor made sure that he stayed downwind from the targets along with keeping its movements from affecting its surroundings. Soon, it got close enough to see what it was hunting, which turned out to be a group of white rabbits that was eating the stalks of the tall grasses.
With his prey in sight, his muscles began to tense as he prepared to attack the rabbit farthest away from the group. Then before any of the rabbits could react, Rapt was closing his jaws around its neck detaching its head from his body. After killing the rabbit, Rapt disemboweled it before consuming the body and organs, ignoring the other fleeing rabbits.
After Rapt finished the rabbit, he began to hunt for more prey. The events that followed was death of one small deer, a hog, and a multitude of insects that crossed his path. Now that he was finally satisfied, he began to return to the cave he found earlier. Arriving at the cave, Rapt marked his territory before entering and falling asleep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Bados had personal checked on the small raptor when he could during the past three weeks. He had left the daily tasks, like monitoring it and feeding it, to his attendants. Like all gods, his attendants were those who dedicated their lives to serving him in return for an extended life and other benefits.
In the throne room, Bados was observing the universe watching for imbalances in the natural order of things before sending his Blessed to fix the discrepancy. It's during this that an attendant silently walks in the room.
"Sire", the Head Attendant said drawing Bados attention.
Bados stopped his observations and shifted his focus to the small humanoid in front of him.
"Alave, haven't I told you that addressing me as such in private is uncalled for."
"Yes, Sire. Yet this is the only command I shall disobey, my Lord." the Head Attendant, Alave, stated as he performed a deep bow.
Staring at Alave, Bados sighed and waved off such behavior since this had been a common occurrence for the past 250 years. With a smile on his face, Alave informed him that Rapt had awakened.
"Call the others to share the burden" Bados said energetically before disappearing from his throne. Being used to his lord's machinations, Alave had already called the other attendants to the Throne room. During this time, Bados sped thru his realm enroute to the sub-realm that contained Rapt.
'Oh, finally the little one is awake. I guess there's no time like the present to test what he can do.' he thought.
Bados had been waiting for this moment as he was intrigued by what the possible outcome of his blunder could be. What had vastly increased his anticipation was the time Rapt spent in recovery. Something that wasn't normal since with context, Rapt had spent an extra 2 and half weeks in his coma than the others that Bados had resurrected.
'He should be getting hungry soon.' Bados couldn't help but think as he reached the edges of the sub-realm. Taking in account how Rapt's growth would be heavily influenced by the time need for his recover. 'Now that he's awake let's see if there are any problems with him.'
With these thoughts, Bados began to tweak the core laws pertaining to the sub-realm that contained Rapt to slowly ecosystem that would be able to sustain his growth.
Instantly, changes were slowly implemented into the fabric of the sub-realm and along with came three distinct changes. Those changes were the appearance of herbivores known as the primary consumers. Followed by the secondary consumers, which were animals that were mostly carnivores as well as omnivores. Finally, the Tertiary consumers or the Apex predators of the food chain. Creating an ecosystem, fit for a small yet powerful raptor that would allow it to express it's prowess.
'Let's see if your worth the wait.' Bados thought with a predatory grin on his face as he watched with anticipation from outside the Sub-realm. As he watched, Bados was shocked by the actions of Rapt as the little raptor seemed to have sensed what was taking place.
'That's strange. I'm sure that he shouldn't be able to sense mana.' Bados thought as he double-checked to make sure that Rapt didn't have a core. A core was what allowed animals to become beasts and be capable of sensing mana.
'How could this baby Raptor that's not even a month-old able to sense what I had done. What strong instincts you have' Bados thought with a grin on his face, his interest in Rapt increasing again. "Maybe it's a side effect from the rebirth?", Bados said excitedly as he talked to himself.
Bados watched the entire performance unfold and was entranced by the prowess that Rapt showed. 'How is this possible? Where's the awkward movements and failures. How could he be so success at hunting. Could it he be that he has such a high level of instinctive prowess?', Bados was thinking while he watched. He suddenly shivered while remembering the entire event of Rapt's resurrection,' did I use the wrong sigil to protect his soul?'.
With that thought, Bados rushed back to the throne room. Luckily, for the many attendants that were roaming the hallways, precautions were implemented to prevent them from being killed by Bados sprinting through the palace (Insert a scene from the show 'the boys'). Due to his speed, Bados arrived instantly just in time to be greeted by an envoy from purgatory.
"Greeting, lord Bados", said the envoy whilst giving a low bow.
Bados nodded at the envoy before turning his gaze to Alave.
Understanding what was being asked of him, Alave said," Apparently, there has been an incident in Lord Tetanus Realm. To find the culprit he has sent envoys to all his siblings, asking for help investigating the matter."
Walking to his throne, Bados sat down before motioning from the rest of his attendants to continue their work. Alave and the envoy continued to discuss the matter, while Bados simply listened on.
Standing to his right, Alave asked," What exactly has occurred in purgatory?"
The envoy looked at the two before answering," one billion souls were consumed by something."
'I really did use the wrong sigil' Bados thought as Alave continued to ask questions about what had occurred in the purgatory realm.
After hearing all the details about the incident, Bados dismissed the envoy to which they envoy bowed again before stating," Lord Tetanus has begun the call for a gathering. I shall return to inform you when it's time, Lord Bados." With that the envoy left, leaving Bados and Alave alone.
"Did he meet your expectations, my Lord?", Alave asked as Bados silently sat on his throne seemingly lose in thought.
"Let me ask you something, Alave. Does the archive speak of an animal being able to sense mana or a youngling being able to hunt perfectly without guidance."
"Sire, no such thing has ever been recorded. What you have described is highly impossible for beast let alone animals. What does this line of thought pertain to, my lord?"
"What sigil is this?" Bados asked, holding up his hand and creating a lime-green sigil that looked like to three's touching backwards.
"That's...." Alave stared at the sigil and alternating between it and Bados. "Sire, did you use the soul absorption sigil.
"Yes, and what do you get by adding these two sigils."
Alave stared at the combination before asking, "What about the search, My Lord? If they find out that you were the cause it could lead to another war."
Standing up from the throne, Bados locked eye with Alave, who promptly kneel before him. "Since when have we cared about the wars, Alave? Never has one of the nature trios fallen in battle."
"Then what will you do when that time comes, My lord."
"Fight, of course. But for now, all we can do is prepare Rapt for what's to come." Echoed out as Bados began to sprint.
During his journey back to the subspace, Bados was in deep though about how to handle the fallout of the situation without Rapt being immediately killed. ' Since a Gathering will take place, I will have to push for the trials of the chosen. That would at least give him a chance to survive. But first he needs to get stronger.' With that thought Bados, decided that Rapt needs two things that were mandatory for his Survival: The system and a mana immersion.
By the time Bados finish his thought, he had reached the subspace again and entered it. Appearing before Rapt, who was in a cave sleeping after hunting and exploring the subspace. Even though he had seen Rapt early, Bados surprised by how he was only 4 weeks old and yet his body size was 4 times bigger than it should be. His growth was even slightly increasing now that he had eating and was resting in this mana-filled environment that was perfect for growth. Something partially thanks his to the blessing Bados had given and the strength of his soul.
Upon his arrival, Rapt suddenly became alert and jumped up in attempt to put as much distance between him and the intruder. Staring at the intruder Rapt felt like he was in front of death as his instincts screamed. In a blink of the eye the intruder appeared in front of him again with his hand on his head before the world went black.
After watching Rapt fall unconscious, Bados created a barrier around the cave to protect Rapt from the animals spawning in the environment. He then returned to the throne room to continue his duties, while pondering,' How could he have sensed me?'.
